Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for producing synthesis gas by catalytic conversion of carbon dioxide in the presence of hydrogen on a special catalyst, which allows to obtain synthesis gas with a composition suitable for the production of methanol.
The raw material for the proposed method is carbon dioxide, which is emitted in large quantities from the furnaces that burn hydrocarbon fuel, for example, natural gas in boilers of power plants (CHP) to generate steam and further electricity. The separation of carbon dioxide from flue gases is not a difficult task and is universally used in small volumes to produce marketable carbon dioxide. Thus, the inventive method simultaneously solves two problems: 1 - environmental protection and 2 - the use of secondary raw materials for petrochemical synthesis.
8-10% [2, 3].A known method of producing synthesis gas by converting carbon dioxide and water at high temperatures (1600K), achieved by concentrating solar energy with special concentrators [1]. The conversion of carbon dioxide and water vapor to synthesis gas proceeds on a cerium dioxide catalyst. The performance of this method is very low, high energy consumption and depends on the intensity of solar radiation. In addition, the resulting synthesis gas does not match the composition required for the synthesis of methanol. According to published data for the production of methanol, synthesis gas must contain, in addition to carbon monoxide, from 3 to 10% carbon dioxide, since it is the initiator of the formation of methanol [2, 3]. Closest to the claimed is a method of producing synthesis gas by catalytic conversion of carbon dioxide in the presence of hydrogen on a catalyst containing 0.8-8.0% of cerium supported on γ-alumina at temperatures up to 350 ° C (prototype) [4]. This method achieves the complete conversion of carbon dioxide to monoxide, but the resulting synthesis gas contains only a mixture of carbon monoxide CO with hydrogen and can serve as an excellent raw material for the synthesis of hydrocarbons and in the processes of oxosynthesis. To obtain methanol, a certain amount of carbon dioxide should be present in the mixture from 3-4 to 8-10% [2, 3].
The objectives of the present invention are to simplify and reduce the cost of the process technology for producing synthesis gas.
The technical result from the use of the invention
The results achieved are:
1 - упрощение технологии процесса за счет использования в качестве сырья только диоксида углерода без добавок монооксида углерода и водорода;1 - simplification of the process technology due to the use of only carbon dioxide as raw materials without additives of carbon monoxide and hydrogen;
2 - удешевление технологии процесса за счет использования более дешевого катализатора, содержащего вместо редкоземельного металла церия более доступной меди (в 10-15 раз).2 - cheaper process technology through the use of a cheaper catalyst containing instead of rare-earth metal cerium more affordable copper (10-15 times).
The problem is solved using a catalyst containing from 1.0 to 3.0% copper Cu (II) deposited on γ-alumina, with a large specific surface by the method of impregnation.
The method is as follows.
A mixture of carbon dioxide and hydrogen is passed through a layer of heterogeneous copper-containing catalyst at a temperature of 300-3 50 ° C at atmospheric pressure. At the output, pure synthesis gas is obtained in a volume ratio of CO: H2 equal to 1: (1 ÷ 2), which is determined by the composition of the initial mixture. The synthesis gas contains a small amount of carbon dioxide, does not contain methane or other compounds.
The inventive method is illustrated by the following examples.
1.Example 1
90,5%.100 cm 3 of γ-alumina catalyst support with a bulk density of 0.800 g / cm 3 and a specific surface area of 180 m 2 / g are dried in an oven at a temperature of 150 ° C for three hours. Then, the dried support is poured into 100 cm 3 of an impregnating aqueous solution of copper nitrate containing 6.8 g of Cu (NO 3 ) 2 ⋅ 3H 2 O. The catalyst carrier is impregnated for ten hours, the remaining solution is evaporated. The catalyst is subjected to heat treatment in a muffle furnace at a temperature of 400 ° C for two hours. CO 2 , which allows you to use it directly for the synthesis of methanol.
The content of Cu in the catalyst is below 1.0% wt. reduces the concentration of CO in the synthesis gas and increases the concentration of CO 2 above 10.0% vol., an increase in the content of Cu in the catalyst above 3.0% wt. practically does not affect the change in the composition of the synthesis gas and is not economically feasible.
The application of the proposed method allows to reduce the cost of the catalyst in comparison with the prototype, since the cost of copper and copper salts is 1-1.5 orders of magnitude lower than the cost of cerium and its salts.
