Description
The invention relates to a technology for the manufacture of microporous nanocomposite polymeric materials and filter elements based on them and can be used in the treatment of water and industrial liquids from impurities.
The known method [Patent EP 2566898 (A1); IPC C08F 110/02; C08J 3/12; C08J 9/24; 03/05/2011] preparation of porous filtering materials (FM) by sintering, in which polyethylene (PE) powder was used with a molecular weight in the range from 300,000 to 2,000,000 g / mol, which was determined in accordance with the requirements of ASTM-D 4020. Medium the particle size in PE powders ranged from 300 to 1500 μm, bulk density - from 0.25 to 0.5 g / cm 3 . When sintering from PE powders, porous products with a porosity of ~ 45% and a pressure drop during air filtration of less than 5 mbar were obtained. The average micropore size in FM is from 30 to 330 microns.
The product in the form of a carbon adsorption filter based on porous FM is made from granules of activated carbon mixed with a thermoplastic binder in the content of 5-85% (mass.), Most often - 15-25% (mass.). The mixture is placed in the form of a hollow cylinder and is subjected to thermal pressing at temperatures corresponding to the melting of the binder and the bonding of carbon particles to each other. The resulting carbon-polymer composite filters can be used to purify water.
The disadvantages of this method is the relatively large size of the micropores and the need for melting the microphase PE in the manufacture of a carbon adsorption filter. These disadvantages are due to the particle size distribution of the initial PE powder, as well as the need to increase the strength of the carbon adsorption filter.
60%.The known method [Application EP 0659482 (A1); IPC B01J 47/00; 06/28/1995] the manufacture of a porous composite thermoplastic polymer and ion-exchange resin obtained by sintering. A porous product made can simultaneously purify water by microfiltration and carry out ion exchange processes. The porosity of the composition varies from 35 to 60%, the average pore size varies in the range from 60 to 150 microns. The content of the ion-exchange resin varies from 40 to 60%.
The disadvantage of this method is the relatively large size of the micropores and the limited capacity of the ion-exchange resin, which reduces the duration of the filter cycle due to the need for regeneration of the filter.
The known method [US Patent 7,534,287 (B2); IPC B01D 39/20 (2006.01), B01D 46/00 (2006.01), B01D 50/00 (2006.01); 05/19/2009] the manufacture of a porous composite material containing the main porous material and powder of nanoparticles (NP). LF powder is introduced into part of the volume of the main porous material; the NP powder inside the porous base material can be sintered or bonded to the porous base material by mixing to form a porous sintered NP containing material formed inside the pores or on the surface of the porous base material. Preferably, the composite material in question includes nanoscale pores over the entire area of the sintered LF material. Methods of manufacturing such a composite material and its use for producing catalysts with a high specific surface area, sensors, for wastewater treatment, as a filler in devices for removing contaminants are proposed.
The disadvantage of this method is the lack of control of the size distribution and concentration of NPs, as well as the spatial distribution of immobilized NPs in the volume of a porous base based on PE. This may be due to the lack of control of the process of immobilization of NPs in the pore volume.
The closest in technical essence to the claimed invention is a method of manufacturing a composite material with polyfunctional activity based on open-porous polyethylene with the addition of activated carbon (concentration of not more than 4% (mass.)) Containing silver nanoparticles [Patent No. 2357784 of the Russian Federation; IPC B01D 39/14; 06/10/2009], which includes the stages of gamma irradiation and subsequent manual screening of the initial PE powder with the release of fractions of size 1.0; 10.0 and 100.0 microns; placement in a cylindrical mold and subsequent thermal pressing, cooling the mold in running water and extracting filter material from the mold. After mechanical processing of the ends, the obtained FM is placed in a bath with an impregnating aqueous-organic solution containing silver NPs and kept for a time sufficient to saturate the porous material with an impregnating solution. The following are the washing and drying operations.
The disadvantages of this method are the multistage nature of the proposed technology, the high level of safety requirements, due to the need for gamma irradiation of the original PE powder and water-organic impregnating solution, the uncontrolled nature of the spatial distribution of the carbon additive and silver NP in the volume of porous PE, selective screening of the initial powder PE by hand. It is also necessary to note the low duration of the filter cycle of filtering elements (PV) from FM based on composite porous PE, determined by the adsorption capacity of activated carbon particles. These drawbacks are due to the need for radiation crosslinking of the molding powder based on low density PE, as well as the implementation of radiation-chemical synthesis of silver NPs in an impregnating aqueous-organic solution, the lack of non-destructive testing of the structure of porous PE before and after impregnation, as well as methods for determining the size distribution and the concentration of silver NPs in the initial and used impregnating solution, a low level of mechanization of the known manufacturing technology of the composition s porous sintered materials based on polyethylene and powdered activated carbon particles with the addition of silver NP.
An object of the invention is to simplify the technology and increase the safety level of manufacturing FMs on the basis of composite filled porous PE, modified silver NPs, as well as eliminating the other above-mentioned disadvantages of the prototype, namely, manual sieving of PE powder; the presence of technological stages of gamma irradiation of the initial PE powder and porous PE impregnated with an aqueous-organic solution; lack of control over the structure of porous PE containing filler particles; the lack of control of the content of silver NPs in the impregnating solution, the presence of uncontrolled stages of impregnation, washing and drying of the modified porous PE.
To solve the technical problem in a method of manufacturing microporous nanocomposite filtering materials (FM), which includes the steps of mixing the molding powder of PE with a filler, placing it in a closed cylindrical mold, heat pressing the molding powder of PE, removing the load and cooling the mold, removing the sintered product and mechanical processing, the following changes are introduced:

- модифицирование композиционного фильтрующего материала наночастицами серебра осуществляют методом «сухого» аэрозольного осаждения, состоящего в пропускании аэрозоля нано-/микрочастиц серебра сквозь поры композита и формирования осадка частиц металла на поверхности и в объеме пор материала,- modification of the composite filtering material with silver nanoparticles is carried out by the method of "dry" aerosol deposition, which consists in passing an aerosol of silver nanoparticles / microparticles through the pores of the composite and forming a precipitate of metal particles on the surface and in the pore volume of the material,
- предварительно формовочную смесь подвергают ультразвуковому воздействию,- pre-molding mixture is subjected to ultrasonic treatment,

- дополнительно осуществляют контроль поровой структуры и пространственного распределения частиц наполнителя в объеме композита методом рентгеновской компьютерной томографии (РКТ),- additionally control the pore structure and spatial distribution of filler particles in the composite volume by x-ray computed tomography (CT);
- дополнительно осуществляют контроль состава и размера металлических частиц в аэрозоле методом диффузионной спектрометрии аэрозолей (ДАС).- additionally monitor the composition and size of metal particles in the aerosol by diffusion aerosol spectrometry (DAS).
FM, manufactured by the above method, is the main functional material of filter elements and filters based on them for the purification of water and process liquids from mechanical impurities.
1.Obtained by the proposed method, polymer filtering materials based on a powder of a modified ultra high molecular weight (CBM) PE with halloysite for PV have the technical characteristics shown in table 1.

For ultrasound treatment, any ultrasound device with optimal characteristics for the process is used. For pressing, a hydraulic press with a force of 10 to 1000 tons or any other with similar characteristics is used.
4).The concentration of the filler (halloysite) should not exceed 3% (mass.), Since at higher concentrations the additives to FM make it brittle. The particle size of the filler is determined by the need to immobilize the latter in the pore space of the FM in order to ensure maximum adsorption activity (Fig. 4).

180±5°C.MOT No. 2. Sintering (or thermal pressing) of a composition based on CBM PE powder and filler in a closed cylindrical mold. A mold with a portion of the composition is installed in the press and heated to a temperature of 140-155 ° C. Then, the press plates are brought together so that the mold with a sample of the composition is under pressure from 0.4 to 0.7 MPa, and heated (12.5 ± 2.5) minutes to the holding temperature, which is chosen depending on the melt flow rate . In this case, the holding temperature is 180 ± 5 ° C.
The mold is kept at this temperature at the rate of 5 min / 1 mm (thickness of the filtering partition), which can vary from 8 to 16 mm. Then the press force is increased to the required value, calculated on the basis of the pressure on the composition of 6.86-9.8 MPa (70-100 kgf / cm 2 ) and the area of the pressed product, and is kept under pressure at the rate of 5 minutes per 1 mm of the thickness of the filtering partition .
After that, without reducing the pressure, the mold is cooled with tap water at an average rate of (2-3) ° C / min to a temperature of (25 ± 5) ° C. The temperature change is controlled using thermocouples located in the plates of the press, or in the mold. After the temperature reaches the value (25 ± 5) ° C, depressurize and remove the mold from the press.
MOT No. 3. Removing the product from the mold. To ensure the safety of the product when it is removed from the mold, its walls are lubricated with organosilicon fluids, in this case polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS, GOST 13032 - 77) before polymer powder is filled. To extract the product, an ejector is used, with the help of which the product is removed from the mold without violating its appearance, integrity and size.
MOT No. 4. Modification of material by silver nanoparticles by dry aerosol deposition.
The technological scheme of the method is shown in FIG. 2: the air flow from the atmosphere is pumped by the compressor (1) through an aerosol filter (3a) to remove particles of mechanical impurities and dust, then it enters the aerosol generator (4), where at the moment of a short circuit an electric arc is formed with specified and controlled current-voltage characteristics. In this case, part of the material of the contacting electrodes evaporates, forming a metal aerosol of predominantly spherical shape. Carried away by the air flow, nano- and microparticles of silver enter the working chamber (7), where they pass through a cell with an FM based on CBM PE powder with a filler (8). Rotameters (2a, 2b) are used to determine the flow of aerosols that have passed through the aerosol generator and the working chamber. A valve (9c) creates a small excess pressure in the working chamber, and a pump (10) provides the necessary air flow through the FM, which has a large hydraulic resistance. Aerosol filters (3b, 3c) are used to trap aerosol particles that have not settled on the substrate.
As a result of surface processes of aggregation and coagulation of nano- and aerosol microparticles deposited on the surface and in the volume of the porous substrate, the formation of silver nano- / microstructures (NMSs) of various types and forms, which give the substrate new functional properties.
Modification of a composite porous CBM PE / halloysite composite (3% (mass.)) Of silver NPs by passing silver aerosols through a composite sample was carried out. The conditions of the technological stage: a) temperature - room; b) pressure - from 740 to 760 mm Hg; c) medium - air. The volume concentration and total amount of silver particles in the aerosol used to modify the porous CBM PE / halloysite composite (3% (mass.) Before and after passing through the composite sample, as well as those captured on the surface and in the volume of the polymer sample.
While controlling the composition and size of silver particles in an aerosol using aerosol diffusion spectrometry (DAS), it was found that the main contribution to the aerosol composition is made by silver nanoparticles with sizes from 40 to 50 nm. Taking into account the surface concentration of silver nanoparticles (table 2) deposited on the surface of the FM, and assuming a spherical shape and the same size of all deposited silver particles (50 nm), it can be obtained that the mass of silver on the surface and in the pore volume of the FM is ~ 10 6 g (when calculating the value of the density of silver was 10.5 g / cm 3 ), with a spread of measurement from 10 -7 to 10 -4 g
MOT No. 5. Quality control. At this stage, performance testing, certification and verification of compliance with the Technical Specifications (TU) of nanocomposite filter materials based on powdered CBM PE with fillers of various nature are performed, and X-ray computed tomography is used to determine the spatial distribution of filler particles in the volume of porous CBM PE ( RCT). Next, the product is packaged.
д.As tests of microporous nanocomposite FMs based on CBM PE powder with halloysite showed, the advantage of the dry aerosol deposition method for the modification of FMs compared to the traditionally used method of impregnation with an aqueous-organic solution of silver nanoparticles is a small number of technological operations, high purity of the materials used, low probability of secondary reactions. In addition, the modification of FM by the deposition of numerous nanoparticles of silver on the surface and in the bulk of the material allows it to be given new functional properties - bactericidal activity, radioprotective and optical properties, sensory-catalytic properties, etc.
Результаты определения производительности по воде микропористых нанокомпозитных ФМ на основе порошка СВМ ПЭ с галлуазитом, 3% (масс.).The results of determining the water productivity of microporous nanocomposite FM based on CBM PE powder with halloysite, 3% (mass.).
Результаты определения производительности по воздуху микропористых нанокомпозитных ФМ на основе порошка ПЭ с галлуазитом, 3% (масс.).The results of determining the air performance of microporous nanocomposite FM based on PE powder with halloysite, 3% (mass.).
The results of determining the specific surface area of the CBM PE powder by the low-temperature nitrogen sorption method: the specific surface area of the CBM PE powder calculated from the sorption data within the BET sorption isotherm is 2247 cm 2 / g; within the framework of the sorption isotherm of Dubinin-Radushkevich - 1243 cm 2 / g.
The nominal fineness of filtration of microporous nanocomposite filtering material from powdered CBM PE with a filler (halloysite, from 0.1 to 3.0% (mass.)) Was determined using TC-1 fuel. Test conditions: temperature - 293 ± 2 K; medium is air; pressure is atmospheric. Test duration - no more than 12 hours. A method for measuring the concentration of contaminant particles is laser light scattering. Test results.
It is shown that the dropout coefficient is 99% in the case of filtering a fuel mixture with pollution particles ranging in size from 1 to 5 microns. As can be seen from these data, the nominal filtration fineness for microporous nanocomposite FM on porous CBM PE / (halloysite, 3% (mass.) Is less than 5 microns. The filtering effect begins to appear with a concentration of 0.1% mass. Halloysite and passes up to 6% by mass and higher, however, as noted earlier, FM with a halloysite content higher than 3.0% by mass becomes all the more brittle and mechanically unstable, the higher its content in the material.
A change in the color of diesel fuel was detected as a result of filtration using FM based on porous CBM PE / halloysite, 3% (mass.). Samples of refined diesel fuel were lighter compared to the original fuel.
The effect of clarification of diesel fuel samples is confirmed by measurements of the optical absorption spectra (Fig. 3). A decrease in optical absorption is observed in the wavelength range from 350 to 450 nm. Registration of the difference spectrum of optical absorption (when a sample of the initial diesel fuel is placed in the measurement channel, and a sample of diesel fuel purified by filtration is placed in the comparison channel) shows that during the fuel processing not only the fuel is cleaned from mechanical particles, but the fuel composition changes. The filter material is capable of adsorption of a number of substances contained in the composition of the initial diesel fuel, which have maximum optical absorption in the region of 350-400, 450 nm and provide its color. The results obtained confirm the existence of an adsorption interaction between FM and fuel.

4.The study of the structure of microporous composite FM based on CBM PE powder and filler (halloysite, up to 3% (mass.)) By X-ray computed tomography is illustrated using figure 4.
In FIG. Figure 4 (a) shows the results of reconstruction of 1024 images obtained in the study of a cylindrical sample (diameter 3 mm,
The above illustrations clearly show that the RCT method is an effective means of controlling the structure of FM based on porous CBM PE / halloysite.
