В целях пожарной профилактики возникновения или тушения лесных пожаров комплекс применяют для возведения огнепреградительной полосы на расстоянии 100-150 м от кромки лесного пожара. Создают противопожарные разрывы методом снятия с помощью плуга 5 горючих материалов лесной почвы до минерализованного слоя и нанесения на огнепреградительную полосу или на границу минерализованного слоя огнетушащей смеси выхлопных газов ДВС с водой и огнетушащим порошком через трубопровод 3 с раструбом на конце. Поступающие газы от ДВС 1 под давлением соединяются с водой, поступающей по гибкому шлангу 9, через штуцер 8, который ввинчен в трубопровод.
