Description
The invention relates to the field of sorption technology and can be used to produce activated carbons (AC) used in the treatment of drinking and waste water, as well as for the extraction of valuable components from technological solutions.
С01В 31/00; С01В 31/12).A known method of producing AC from plant materials by grinding, sieving, drying and impregnating a solution of zinc chloride in a mass ratio of raw materials to zinc chloride 1: (1-4), followed by drying and chemical activation under vacuum with a temperature rise rate of 5-15 ° C / min to 400-450 ° C with exposure at a final temperature of 1 hour, after which the chemical activator (ZnCl 2 ) is washed successively with acid and water and the product is finally dried (see Univ Central South Patent No. 101497493, published 05.08.2009 city, class СВВ 31/00; С01В 3 1/12).
The disadvantage of this method is the complexity of the process and the formation of a large volume of wastewater.
Closest to the proposed method in terms of technical nature and the number of matching features is a method for producing activated carbon from cruciferous oil straw straws, including crushing the initial straw, its carbonization, steam activation and grinding, characterized in that before the carbonization, the crushed pieces are pressed into briquettes under pressure 500-1200 kg / cm 2, carbonization leads to a temperature rise rate of 1-4 ° C / min to a final temperature of 700-750 ° C, and activation is carried out at a temperature of 820-840 ° C, and Use straw cruciferous oilseeds with carbon content in dry matter of 38-40 wt. % (see RF patent No. 2562984 class C.01B 31/08, published September 10, 2015).
Недостатком прототипа является низкая адсорбционная активность получаемого активного угля при извлечении из водных растворов редкоземельного элемента церия (Се).The disadvantage of the prototype is the low adsorption activity of the resulting activated carbon when extracted from aqueous solutions of the rare earth element cerium (Ce).
The technical result (the purpose of the invention) is to increase the adsorption activity of the resulting activated carbon in the extraction of cerium from aqueous solutions.
The goal is achieved by the proposed method, including crushing of the original straw, its carbonization at 700-750 ° C, activation and grinding, characterized in that the straw used is flax straw, and activation is carried out at a temperature of 860-890 ° C with carbon dioxide supplied with consumption of 2-4 kg per 1 kg of carbonized product.
The difference between the proposed method and the known one is that flax straw is used as straw, and activation is carried out at a temperature of 860-890 ° C with carbon dioxide supplied at a rate of 2-4 kg per 1 kg of carbonized product.
From the scientific, technical and patent literature, the authors do not know a method for producing AC in which flax straw is used as straw, and activation is carried out at a temperature of 860-890 ° C with carbon dioxide supplied at a rate of 2-4 kg per 1 kg of carbonized product.
To understand the purpose of the claimed technical solution, it should be said that rare-earth elements (lanthanides) are in mineral concentrations processed by hydrometallurgical methods in low concentrations and, as a rule, together with other metals. Therefore, it is important to obtain such an AU that would effectively extract one or another rare-earth element.
The essence of the invention is as follows: flax straw, in contrast to other types of straw, has a dense and strong structure, which suggests the development of a large number of crystallites in this carbon-containing material - micropore nuclei. Use for opening them during activation of a “milder” oxidizing agent - carbon dioxide (СО 2 ) by reaction
Ств+CO2=2СО↑With tv + CO 2 = 2CO ↑
позволяет увеличить долю микропор в общем суммарном объеме пор, а с другой стороны, обеспечивает их одинаковую эквивалентную ширину, что в конечном итоге способствует эффективному поглощению именно ионов церия из раствора.allows you to increase the proportion of micropores in the total total pore volume, and on the other hand, provides their equal equivalent width, which ultimately contributes to the effective absorption of cerium ions from solution.
The method is as follows. Take flax straw, chop it into pieces 1-3 cm long, load them into a retort (or rotary) oven and carbonize it in a CO 2 atmosphere at a rate of temperature rise of 3-8 ° C / min to a final temperature of 700-750 ° C. Then, after holding for 10-15 minutes, raise the temperature to 860-890 ° C and put the furnace into activation mode. Activation is carried out with carbon dioxide, feeding it at a rate of 2-4 kg per 1 kg of carbonized product. Activation is carried out before burning 30-50% of the mass. That provides the development of the total pore volume up to 1.8-2.1 cm 3 / g and the volume of thin micropores to a volume of 0.15 cm 3 / g
At the end of the process, the retort is cooled, the obtained AU is unloaded from it, its grinding is carried out on a ball or disk mill to a particle size <100 μm. The resulting AC is sent to determine the adsorption activity of cerium.
Prepare a model solution of cerium chloride with a volume of 100 ml with a concentration of 0.05 g / l. Then, a dose of AC equal to 2 g is introduced into the solution, and the coal is contacted with the solution for 30 minutes. with constant stirring. The cerium adsorption activity of AC is determined by the formula
где а - адсорбционная способность АУ, мг/г;where a is the adsorption capacity of AU, mg / g;
Сисх - исходная концентрация церия, мг/л;With ref - the initial concentration of cerium, mg / l;
Сост - остаточная концентрация церия, мг/л;With ost - the residual concentration of cerium, mg / l;
m - масса навески АУ, г.m is the mass of the sample АУ, g
The concentration of cerium in solution is determined by the method of induction-coupled plasma.
The resulting AC had a cerium adsorption activity of 52-75 mg / g.
Take 100 g of flax straw, cut into pieces 1-3 cm long, load them into a steel retort, which is closed with a lid with bends, and placed in an electric furnace of the type SCHOL-116. Carbon dioxide is supplied to the retort to create an inert atmosphere and the retort is heated at a rate of temperature rise of 5 ° C / min to a final temperature of 700-750 ° C. Then, after holding for 10-15 minutes, the temperature is raised to 860 ° C and the retort is put into activation mode, increasing the supply of CO 2 to a flow rate of 2 kg per 1 kg of carbonized product. Activation is carried out to burn 40% of the mass. (activation time is usually 30-40 minutes).
Then the retort is cooled to room temperature, the obtained AU is unloaded from it, crushed by a ball mill for 1 hour to a particle size of <100 μm. The obtained AC powder is sent to determine its adsorption activity by cerium.
The adsorption activity of cerium obtained in Example 1 for activated carbon was 52 mg / g.
Example 2. The implementation of the process as in example 1, except that the activation is carried out at a temperature of 890 ° C with a flow rate of CO 2 equal to 4 kg per 1 kg of carbonized product.
The adsorption activity of the obtained activated carbon in cerium was 67 mg / g.
Example 3. The implementation of the process as in example 1, except that the activation is carried out at a temperature of 875 ° C with a flow rate of CO 2 equal to 3 kg per 1 kg of carbonized product.
The adsorption activity of the obtained activated carbon in cerium was 75 mg / g.
The adsorption activity of the AU obtained by the method described in the prototype (RF patent No. 2562984) was 27 mg / g.
As a result of the experiments, the effect of the activation activation parameters on the achievement of the purpose of the invention was established. So, if the activation temperature drops below 860 ° C, the activation time increases significantly, because carbon dioxide is a less reactive activator compared to water vapor, and with an increase in the activation temperature above 890 ° C, mesopores and macropores begin to develop in AC, which weakly absorb cerium ions from solution.
The consumption of the activator — carbon dioxide — in the case of its reduction of less than 2 kg per 1 kg of carbonized product leads to the development of very thin micropores (<0.6 nm), which, due to the "sieve" effect, worsens the adsorption of cerium. On the other hand, an increase in carbon dioxide consumption in excess of 4 kg per 1 kg of carbonized product increases surface burn and sharply reduces the proportion of micropores in active carbon.
Thus, it follows from the foregoing that each of the features of the claimed combination to a greater or lesser extent affects the achievement of the goal, and the entire population is sufficient for the characteristics of the claimed technical solution.
