Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the field of materials science, in particular to the technology for producing composite materials, and can be used in the manufacture of blanks and parts from polymer composite materials of various functional purposes, for example, parts of metal-polymer friction units of machines and technological equipment.
A known method of two-stage processing of polytetrafluoroethylene (Pugachev A.K., Roslyakov O.A. Processing of fluoroplastics into products: technology and equipment. - Chemistry, 1987. - 167 S. (p. 9, 31, 32, 111, 112)), which is based on a two-stage process: 1) obtaining a pressed billet by cold pressing, 2) subsequent heat treatment of the pressed billet - free sintering without mold in furnaces at a temperature of 360-380 ° C. The considered method has the following disadvantages. In the so-called free sintering, the thermal expansion of the components of the pressed billet and the inevitable weakening and partial destruction of the bonds between the composite particles formed during the cold pressing due to the significant convergence of the particles and compressive stresses occur in the furnaces. Violation of these bonds significantly reduces the efficiency of structure formation processes during heat treatment and leads to a significant decrease in the mechanical and tribotechnical properties of the composite.
A known method of manufacturing polymer composite materials by cold pressing of blanks followed by sintering in a closed device (RF Patent No. 2266925, IPC
This method is closest in technical essence to the proposed invention, however, it also has inherent disadvantages that reduce the characteristics of the physico-mechanical properties of the composite material. The main disadvantage is that the thermal expansion of workpieces having, for example, the shape of cylindrical or conical rings (shown in Fig. 1-5 of the description of the patent of the Russian Federation No. 2266925), is completely limited only when the geometric shape and dimensions of the internal cavity of the device match perfectly dimensions of the pressed blank of the product. However, this is not possible due to the set tolerances for the manufacture of blanks, products and device parts. Therefore, when assembling a closed device with a pressed blank, gaps between the blank and the surfaces of the internal cavity of the device are inevitable. The presence of gaps significantly reduces the positive effect of sintering the workpiece in closed form and the level of characteristics of the physicomechanical properties of the finished product. In addition, when removing pressed billets from the mold and installing them in a closed device with minimal gaps, there is a high probability of breaking the integrity of brittle pressed, but still unsintered billets.
The technical result of the invention is improving the mechanical and tribotechnical properties of the sintered composite material, as well as simplifying and reducing the complexity of manufacturing tooling and manufacturing products from polymer composite materials.
The specified technical result is achieved by the fact that in the method of manufacturing products from polymer composite materials based on polytetrafluoroethylene, in which the components are mixed with polytetrafluoroethylene, cold pressing of the preforms and subsequent sintering, according to the claimed invention, after cold pressing before sintering, the preform is subjected to preliminary compression pressure within 0.2-0.5 MPa. Heating and sintering of pressed blanks is carried out directly in the mold, at a temperature of 355-365 ° C.
The pre-compression pressure is created using a load placed on the cover of the mold with the pressed billet installed in the furnace, or to create the said preliminary compression pressure, the mold with the pressed billet is installed on the double-sided press equipped with heated upper and lower plates, preliminary compression pressure in the range of 0.2-0.5 MPa and sintering of the workpieces directly on the press.
Thus, the technical result is achieved due to the transition to a one-stage process, in which the pressed blanks are sintered and cooled, without removing from the mold.
The essence of the technical solution is illustrated by drawings, where:
5;- in FIG. 1 shows a diagram of the pressing and heat treatment of preforms of polymer composite materials in a mold, consisting of a matrix in the form of a
В пресс-форме, состоящей из матрицы в виде полого стального цилиндра 1, нижнего пуансона 2, на котором формируется прессованная заготовка 3, и верхнего пуансона 4, причем пресс-форма установлена на прессе двухстороннего прессования с нагреваемыми плитами с возможностью взаимодействия верхнего пуансона 4 с верхней плитой 6 пресса, а матрицы 1 - с нижней плитой 7 пресса.- in FIG. 2 is a diagram of the pressing and heat treatment of workpieces on a double-sided press. In a mold consisting of a matrix in the form of a
When heated, the pressed workpiece in the mold (Fig. 1, Fig. 2) due to thermal expansion of the polymer composition in the volume of the workpiece, significant internal compression stresses develop. Due to compressive stresses, the contact pressure and the interaction area between the particles of the polymer matrix and the filler particles increase, which ensures the formation of strong adhesive bonds, the effective development of the processes of formation of a more perfect structure of the polymer composition and, as a result, a significant increase in the characteristics of the physicomechanical properties of PCM.
The preliminary compression pressure set before sintering in the range of 0.2-0.5 MPa allows you to maintain the stress-strain state in the volume of the pressed billet and the level of adhesive bonds between the components formed during the pressing of the composition, which helps to increase the characteristics of the mechanical and tribological properties of PCM. The lower limit of compression pressure of 0.2 MPa is determined by the fact that at lower pressure values, the increase in the characteristics of mechanical and tribological properties is not significant. The upper limit of the preliminary pressure is determined by the fact that at higher pressure values, a sharp decrease in the PCM characteristics is possible due to an unacceptable increase in the compression pressure during sintering of the workpieces, leading to cracking and destruction of products.
The effectiveness of the claimed method was verified by making samples and studying PCM characteristics of the following composition: cryptocrystalline graphite - 8.0 mass. %, molybdenum disulfide - 1.5 mass. %, white carbon black BS-120 - 3.0 mass. %, PTFE - the rest.
Production of PCM samples to study the characteristics of mechanical and tribological properties was carried out according to the following technology. The composition of the powders was mixed in a mixer with a rotational speed of knives 2800 min -1 , the workpiece was pressed under a pressure of 75 MPa, keeping under this pressure for 3-5 minutes. Then the mold was closed with a lid (first scheme), pressure was applied to the lid 0.2-0.5 MPa, the mold with the blanks was heated to a temperature of 355-365 ° C, kept at this temperature at the rate of 8-9 min per 1 mm of the wall thickness of the product was cooled in a mold to a temperature of 327 ° C at a speed of 0.3-0.4 deg / min, and then to room temperature - free cooling.
The pressed billet in the mold experiences a predetermined pre-compression pressure, and its volumetric thermal expansion is almost completely limited during heating. Therefore, the compression pressure increases significantly with increasing temperature due to a significant difference in the thermal expansion coefficients of the steel matrix and PTFE (at a temperature of 360 ° C by 25 times). When the workpiece is heated to 360 ° C, as calculations show, the compression pressure between particles increases by 3.5 times.
To quantify the effectiveness of the claimed method, we tested samples made by the known free sintering technology and by the claimed method by sintering in a mold while limiting thermal expansion. The tensile strength σ in and the elongation at break δ were determined according to the methods of GOST 11262-80, the elastic modulus - according to the methods of GOST 9550-81. PCM wear resistance was determined by the wear rate on a friction machine, according to the finger-disk friction pattern. Cylindrical fingers (PCM samples) with a diameter of 5 mm were tested during friction without lubrication on a steel disk (counterbody) made of hardened carbon steel. The test was conducted at a sliding speed of 1.2 m / s and a contact pressure of 2.66 MPa. Table 1 shows the obtained values of the characteristics of the mechanical and tribological properties of the studied PCM samples.
43%.From the above data it follows that in the manufacture of samples according to the claimed method, the tensile strength increases by 26%, the modulus of elasticity - by 35%, the wear rate decreases by 43%.
A comprehensive increase in the characteristics of the mechanical and tribotechnical properties of composite samples made according to the claimed method, which is expressed in a significant increase in the tensile strength and elastic modulus, as well as in a decrease in the wear rate by 43%, can significantly increase efficiency and significantly increase the service life of friction units (sliding bearings, sealing devices) machines in various branches of engineering.
