Abstract
Description
The invention relates to medicine and relates to composite ceramic materials for the replacement of bone defects.
ERGUN H. DOREMUS Hydroxylapatite-zirconia composites: Thermal stability of phases and sinterability as related to the CaO-ZrO2 phase diagram J. Materials science 40 (2005) 1127-1134]. Hydroxyapatite (HA) is closest to natural bone tissue in its chemical composition. However, ceramic materials based on it are characterized by low strength and crack resistance, which limits their use as structural bone implants. This problem can be solved by creating composites based on hydroxyapatite containing a high-strength bioinert second phase - ZrO 2 . It is technologically difficult to obtain such composites due to the interaction between GA and ZrO 2 , which prevents the production of strong and dense composites [Z. EVIS, C. ERGUN H. DOREMUS Hydroxylapatite-zirconia composites: Thermal stability of phases and sinterability as related to the CaO-ZrO 2 phase diagram J. Materials science 40 (2005) 1127-1134]. The use of fluorohydrocstiapatite (PHA) instead of HA helps to increase the thermal stability of composites. This allows you to save the initial phase composition of materials based on the ΦΓΑ-ΖrO 2 system and to achieve higher mechanical properties.
% ZrO2 [Hae-Won Kim, Young-Min Kong, Young-Hag Koh, Hyoun-Ee Kim Pressureless Sintering and Mechanical and Biological Properties of Fluor-hydroxyapatite Composites with Zirconia J. Am. Ceram. А.А. 2014].The closest in technical solution and the achieved effect is a composite material of the following composition of 60 vol. % PHA - 40 vol. % ZrO 2 [Hae-Won Kim, Young-Min Kong, Young-Hag Koh, Hyoun-Ee Kim Pressureless Sintering and Mechanical and Biological Properties of Fluor-hydroxyapatite Composites with Zirconia J. Am. Ceram. Soc, 86 [12] 2019-26 (2003)], which is 43 mass. % PHA and 57 wt. % ZrO 2 . Moreover, ZrO 2 (partially stabilized) as the stabilizing phase contains yttrium oxide in an amount of 3 mol. %, and in PHA the OH - anions are 80% replaced by F - anions. The disadvantage of this material is low strength of 220 MPa flexural and fracture toughness of 2.5 MPa · m 1/2 and a high fluorine content, which can lead to fluorosis (by substituting the anions of OH - ions on F - more than 10% [Barinov S.M., Komlev BC Bioceramics based on calcium phosphates; A.A. Baykov Institute of Metallurgy and Materials Science, Russian Academy of Sciences, 2nd ed., Moscow: Nauka, 2014].
Задача, на решение которой направлено настоящее изобретение, заключается в создании композиционного материала на основе фторгидроксиапатита - диоксида циркония, спекающегося до плотного состояния (открытая пористость менее 2%).The problem to which the present invention is directed is to create a composite material based on fluorohydroxyapatite - zirconia, sintering to a dense state (open porosity of less than 2%).
1/2.The technical result of the invention is to increase the mechanical properties: bending strength of at least 300 MPa and crack resistance of at least 4 MPa * m 1/2 .
%:The technical result is achieved in that the composite material based on fluorohydroxyapatite and partially stabilized zirconia to replace bone defects contains an additive that promotes sintering at the following ratios of components in the material, mass. %:
2%.ftorgidroksiapatit (substitution anion OH - ions on F - in an amount of 10%) - 40-60, partially stabilized zirconia (yttria content of 3 mol%.) - 40-60 and additive sodium silicate in an amount of 2-5 wt. % taken in excess of 100% with respect to fluorohydroxyapatite and zirconia, while the resulting material after sintering is characterized by a bending strength of at least 300 MPa, a crack resistance of at least 4 MPa * m 1/2 and an open porosity of less than 2%.
Ceramic material of this composition is unknown. During sintering, the additive (sodium silicate, melting point about 1070–1120 ° C) forms a low-temperature melt, which contributes to the sintering of the composite material by the liquid-phase mechanism. As a result, sintering to a dense state (open porosity of less than 2%) becomes possible at low temperatures of 1300-1330 ° C, which allows you to save the initial phase composition of the composite material - ZrO 2 - PHA and to obtain high mechanical properties (bending strength, crack resistance). At higher temperatures, a reaction occurs between the components, resulting in the formation of calcium zirconates, which have lower mechanical strength and biological properties. By lowering the sintering temperature below 1300 ° C, the material is porous with low strength. With an increase in the composite zirconia over 60 mass. % and with a content of up to 40 mass. % material is obtained with a strength of less than 300 MPa. When using additives less than 2 mass. % material has a high open porosity, which leads to a decrease in the strength of the material, and at more than 5 mass. % in the material a large amount of liquid phase is formed, which leads to deformation of the samples during sintering.
Example 1. Composite ceramics were obtained by mechanical mixing of the components. To this mixed 40 g of PHA powder (replacement of OH anions - by F ions - in an amount of 10%) and 60 grams of partially stabilized zirconia (. Contents of yttrium oxide 3 mol%) followed by sodium silicate additive in an amount of 5 g of (5 wt.% in excess of 100% with respect to the mixture of powders ΦΓΑ-ZrO 2 ). After pressing the powders, the obtained samples were sintered at a temperature of 1300 ° C. The result was a composite material with a composition of 40% PHA and 60% ZrO 2 containing an additive of sodium silicate 5 wt. % in excess of 100% with respect to PHA-ZrO 2 with an open porosity of less than 2%, flexural strength of 370 MPa and crack resistance of 5.7 MPa * m 1/2 . Were made samples of composite ceramics having compositions within the claimed, and determined their properties in comparison with the prototype. The results are summarized in table.
