Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to the electrical processing of materials, in particular to a method for removing an electrically conductive oxide layer from glass.
From the current level of technology there are known methods of removing an electrically conductive oxide layer: mechanical [1], electrochemical [2] and using laser radiation [3, 4]. The present invention provides a method for applying an electric current to an electrically conductive oxide layer.
The problem to which the claimed invention is directed, is to obtain conductive paths on the surface of a glass with an oxide conductive layer and preserve its properties.
This problem is solved due to the fact that the resistive heating of the conductive oxide layer that occurs when a controlled electric current passes through the conductive oxide layer and a movable electrode with a diameter of 0.1 mm to 1.5 mm leads to local melting of the conductive oxide at the point of contact of the electrode layer and the destruction of the adhesion forces of the conductive oxide layer with the dielectric substrate, without changing its properties. The technical result of the proposed method for the local removal of an electrically conductive oxide layer from a dielectric substrate is the formation of electrically conductive tracks or an arbitrary pattern on the substrate.
The essence of the invention is illustrated by three illustrations, which show: FIG. 1 is a diagram of a device for removing an oxide layer; FIG. 2 is an illustration of the formation of a non-conductive strip and a finished electrically conductive track; FIG. 3 is a top view of a glass sample with an oxide conductive coating after processing. An electric current is passed through a terminal (1) attached to a dielectric substrate (2) with an electrically conductive layer (3) on one side, and an electrode (4) located on the surface, causing resistive heating of the electrically conductive oxide layer to a melting state in the local area contact of the electrode and the electrically conductive layer, while the dielectric substrate remains “cold”. The electrode continuously moves along the surface using the coordinate table (5). Reliable contact between the electrically conductive layer and the moving electrode provides a clamping device (7). To maintain a stable melting process of the electrically conductive oxide layer, an adjustable current stabilizer is used (6). Continuously moving along the surface, the electrode melts the electrically conductive layer to a dielectric substrate in the form of a strip (8), the width of which depends on the size of the electrode, which allows the formation of conductive tracks (9) on the surface of the substrate. To obtain a high-quality melt of the strip, the diameter of the movable electrode must lie in the range from 0.1 mm to 1.5 mm. An electrode diameter of less than 0.1 mm reduces its working life, and the use of an electrode with a diameter of more than 1.5 mm leads to a deterioration in the quality of the molten strip. The melt formed in the region of the electrode turns into hardened, finely dispersed, rounded fragments, which are easily removed mechanically.
The claimed method can be used to form conductive paths on glass. Applying a voltage U between points A and B, as shown in FIG. 3, glass can be used as a flat heater.
