Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the field of environmental protection, namely to reduce pollution of water bodies by drain from the surface of roads.
2010 г.).A known method of protecting a water body (pond, watercourse) from pollution, including the device in the body of the slope of the body of the water body of drainage elements in one or more tiers, consisting of working and discharge parts, as well as technical areas with a hard surface. From each technical site in the slope array below the outlet parts of the drainage elements, prefabricated containers with opening lids are arranged to intercept the filtered groundwater stream contaminated with harmful substances, from which the contaminated filtered soil stream is pumped out. The method provides an increase in the efficiency of protection of a water body (reservoir) from contaminants from contaminated groundwater (see RF patent No. 2392375, IPC E02B 3/04, publ. 2010).
The disadvantages of this method is the need for subsequent post-treatment of contaminated wastewater, as well as the need for costs for the construction and maintenance of prefabricated tanks.
A known method implemented in the system of drainage and treatment of surface runoff of rain, melt and irrigation water from the surface of roads, railways, from built-up areas, industrial sites, etc., adopted as a prototype. The method consists in collecting surface runoff with waterproofing the drainage collector system, followed by coarse and fine purification of the effluent by settling in a settling chamber and filtering in additional filter chambers using multilayer natural filtering material, after which the treated effluent enters a shallow bioplate (see RF patent No. 2200802, IPC E03F 1/00, publ. 2003). The method allows for the purification of runoff from large mechanical impurities, as well as from suspended particles and associated petroleum products.
The disadvantage of the described method is the lack of purification of the effluent from the metals dissolved in it, as well as the complexity of the purification process due to the need to build complex hydraulic elements that make up the purification system.
An object of the invention is to simplify the process of cleaning surface runoff by building and using a simpler filtration system with high sorption capacity, as well as improving the quality of cleaning by cleaning the surface runoff from dissolved metals while increasing erosion resistance of the surface of slopes.
The solution of the technical problem is achieved by the implementation of a method for cleaning contaminated surface runoff from a roadway, including the construction and use of a filter system on the surface of dirt slopes, according to the invention, the upper layer of slope soil treated with an aqueous solution of a polyelectrolyte complex containing a mixture of hydrolyzed polyacrylonitrile is used as a filter system and polyethylene polyamine in a mass ratio of 1: 3.5-4.5, after saturation with sorption the capacity of the treated soil is removed and disposed of or regenerated.
The stated technical problem is solved by using slopes of the roadbed itself as a filtering soil system, which does not require additional arrangement of slopes. In addition, the components of the aqueous solution, which is treated with the topsoil, are readily available substances. Moreover, the process of preparing a polyelectrolyte complex is not particularly difficult. That is, compared with the prototype simplifies the process of cleaning contaminated surface runoff. The actual assessment showed that the soil layer saturated with the proposed aqueous solution has an increased sorption capacity for a significant period of its use. In addition, the soil layer allows you to retain suspended solids and oil products contained in wastewater, and by linking soil particles together, increases the erosion resistance of road slopes.
A method for cleaning contaminated surface runoff from a roadway of roads includes the construction and use of a filter system on the surface of soil slopes. According to the invention, the upper slope soil layer treated with an aqueous solution of a polyelectrolyte complex containing a mixture of hydrolyzed polyacrylonitrile and polyethylene polyamine in a mass ratio of 1: 3.5-4.5 is used as a filter system. After saturation of the sorption capacity of the treated soil, it is removed and disposed of or regenerated.
The method is implemented as follows.
Contaminated surface runoff from the surface of roads in warm time to the filter system, i.e. to a soil slope, which is treated in advance using road equipment with an aqueous solution of a polyelectrolyte complex containing a mixture of hydrolyzed polyacrylonitrile and polyethylene polyamine, maintaining their mass ratio of 1: 3.5-4.5 depending on the type of soil (Table 1). The heavy metal ions contained in the surface runoff from roads form especially stable (chelate) compounds with polyethylene polyamine, which makes heavy metal ions inaccessible to plants. Petroleum products and suspended solids are retained by the top layer of the treated soil due to the buffer capacity of the soil. In addition to its direct function, the deposited polyelectrolyte complex also plays the role of a dust precipitating binder, which favorably affects erosion resistance
When the system "polyelectrolyte complex + soil" approaches the saturation of its sorption capacity, it must be removed from the roadside slopes and disposed of or regenerated. Soil processing can be performed in the following ways: burial of contaminated soil; regeneration using natural sorbents, the use of biological purification methods; mixing contaminated soil with clean soil to obtain the necessary values for the polluting component; heavy metal recovery using technology based on electrochemical methods; soil regeneration using chemicals, such as nitric acid, in fluidized bed apparatus.
Table 2 below shows the results of experiments to determine the quality of surface drainage from a number of heavy metal ions, as well as the actual sorption capacity of the filtration system for each metal depending on the type of soil and its percentage saturation per year.
It is assumed that the polyelectrolyte complex will be concentrated in the upper layer of slope soil with a height of 2 cm. The consumption of the polyelectrolyte complex per 1 ha of slope area will be 50 kg.
For the types of soils listed in the table, we can conclude that the polyelectrolyte complex + soil system is very effective for the contaminants under consideration, and the minimum service life until saturation of the sorption capacity in the case of sand will be about 10 years, in the case of the most common types of soils - sandy loam and loam, this period reaches 20-25 years.
The quality of cleaning from oil products and suspensions was determined depending on the buffer capacity of the soil and is about 75-80% for oil products, 80-85% - for suspensions, respectively.
The advantages of this invention are the simplicity of the preparation of the filter composition and its use, the availability of components of the polyelectrolyte complex, as well as the absence of the need to erect engineering structures in the ROW, requiring significant structural and operational costs during construction and subsequent operation. In addition, the invention is characterized by high ion exchange ability, increasing the efficiency of sorption of heavy metals, as well as the ability to clean the surface runoff of oil products and suspended solids due to the buffering properties of the soil.
The resulting polyelectrolyte complex can be diluted with water, and not with salt solutions, which will avoid soil salinization. In addition, polyethylene polyamine forms particularly stable (chelate) complexes with heavy metal ions, making them inaccessible to plants.
Also, the polyelectrolyte complex binds the particles of the cultivated soil with each other, increases the erosion resistance of road slopes.
Thus, the invention allows to simplify the process of cleaning contaminated surface runoff from the roadbed of roads by building and using a simpler filtration system with high sorption capacity, as well as to improve the quality of cleaning by cleaning the surface runoff from dissolved metals, while increasing erosion stability of the surface of the slopes.
