Abstract
Description
The invention relates to systems for collecting and preparing oil for refining and transport, in particular to processes for the utilization of associated petroleum gas in gas hydrate form with the simultaneous separation of oil and water, and can be used in the oil and gas refining industries and in the energy sector.
[3].When oil moves from the bottom of the well to the refinery due to insufficient sealing of the technological systems for collecting and transport, the gases dissolved in it, and especially the light oil fractions (hydrocarbon gases from ethane to pentane), are often completely lost. The latter are valuable raw materials for organic synthesis, widely used in industry. On the other hand, it is known that 80% of all oil in the Russian Federation is produced in a flooded state [1]. When extracting a mixture of oil with produced water, an emulsion forms, which should be considered as a mechanical mixture of two insoluble liquids (oil and water), one of which is distributed in the volume of the other in the form of droplets of various sizes. The presence of water in oil in the presence of petroleum gas can lead to hydrate formation in water-oil emulsions at low temperatures and high pressures, which can disrupt the technology of oil production, processing and transportation. At the same time, the use of gas hydrate technologies directly in the fields is one of the promising technological solutions to the problem of oil gas utilization. The conversion of gas to gas hydrate form will allow the utilization of associated petroleum gas, which in Russia burns more than 20 billion m 3 every year [2]. Storage and transportation of gas in the solid gas-hydrate state will make it possible to bring into operation small oil fields remote from gas pipelines and associated gas processing stations and will bring significant economic benefits [3].
Closest to the claimed method of utilization of associated petroleum gas by converting it into a gas hydrate form while separating oil and water in an oil-water emulsion is the method of oil dehydration described in the invention [4], in which the initial oil-water emulsion enters a heat exchanger, where conditions for the formation of crystalline hydrate. The hydrate forming gas is introduced as the mixture moves along the heat exchanger or in front of the heat exchanger. The resulting mixture of oil and hydrate enters a separation tank, where the resulting crystalline hydrate is precipitated and coalesced. Demulsified oil is sent for further processing.
A common feature with the claimed method is the contacting of an oil-water emulsion with gas under hydrate formation conditions, followed by the separation of water in the form of crystalline hydrate.
The disadvantage of this method is the complexity associated with the need to use a separation tank, where the process of deposition and adhesion (agglomeration) of dispersed particles of gas hydrate can take a long time depending on the concentration of gas hydrate particles in the stream. On the other hand, with a large number of gas hydrate particles, the agglomeration process can occur during the movement of the mixture in the heat exchanger, which can lead to the formation of a gas hydrate plug. The need to control these processes will complicate the implementation of the known method. This is especially important for oil-water emulsions with a high water content when striving for the complete conversion of water and large volumes of gas into gas hydrate.
The basis of the claimed invention is the creation of an effective method of utilizing large volumes of associated petroleum gas by converting it to a gas-hydrate state in an oil-water emulsion while simultaneously separating it into an aqueous and an oil phase. This problem is solved due to the discovered effect of displacing water in a gas-hydrated state on the surface of the oil-water emulsion and on the side walls of the reactor in the presence of gas under a certain thermobaric mode.
[5, 6].The proposed method is as follows. In a water-oil emulsion in the presence of oil gas under certain thermobaric conditions corresponding to the conditions for the formation of gas hydrate for a given gas hydrate (gas or gas mixture), a multi-stage process of gas hydration in the emulsion occurs, consisting of the formation of gas hydrate from water particles in the emulsion, their agglomeration and the subsequent stage that we discovered gas hydrate displacement from oil. Thus, the use of associated petroleum gas as a gas hydrate former in this method will allow it to be disposed of in a solid gas hydrate state and, at the same time, will remove water from the oil. The possibility of implementing the proposed method is based on the experimental effect we discovered when studying the processes of gas hydrate formation in a water-oil emulsion, which are still not well understood [5, 6].
The methodology of the experiment.
Since the mass content of propane in petroleum associated gas is higher than in natural gas, while the gas hydrate formation of this gas component occurs at pressures almost an order of magnitude lower than that of methane, we studied propane gas hydrates.
75%.To prepare the oil-water emulsion, an oil sample of the Mamurinsky oil and gas field of the Tyumen region was used, the main physicochemical properties of which are presented in the table, and distilled water. For mixing water and oil, a mixer was used with a blade speed of 13,000 rpm. The total time for beating the emulsion was at least 30 minutes. For research, an oil-water emulsion with a volumetric water content of 75% was prepared.
The resulting emulsion had a uniform, more viscous than oil, consistency and a lighter color than the original oil. To prevent the separation of the emulsion when the thermobaric conditions change, the prepared emulsion was kept for several hours at a temperature of -4 ° C, then it was placed in a reactor pre-cooled to a temperature of -5 ° C. The studies were carried out on an experimental setup, the description of which is given in [7]. Gas hydrate growth occurred in a high pressure reactor under static conditions without stirring the reagent. It is known that during crystallization, two stages should be distinguished:
В нашем случае перед подачей газа реактор с водонефтяной эмульсией охлаждался до -5°С, затем система нагревалась до наступления положительной температуры в реакторе в диапазоне от 1°С до 3°С, а оттаявший реагент насыщался газом при давлении, превышающем давление равновесия при данной температуре на величину пересыщения ΔРformation of stable nuclei of a new phase (gas hydrate) and their volume growth. To reduce the time to the first stage (the induction period of hydrate formation), usually the water is pre-frozen and then saturated with a hydrate forming gas with an increase in the temperature at which ice melts. In our case, before the gas supply, the oil-water emulsion reactor was cooled to -5 ° С, then the system was heated to a positive temperature in the reactor in the range from 1 ° С to 3 ° С, and the thawed reagent was saturated with gas at a pressure exceeding the equilibrium pressure at this temperature by the amount of supersaturation ΔР
ΔР=|Р-Рр|,ΔP = | P-P p |,
где Рр - давление равновесия, которое определялось по давлению, установившемуся в системе газ - газогидрат по истечению продолжительного промежутка времени (не менее 10 часов) при постоянной температуре.where P p is the equilibrium pressure, which was determined by the pressure established in the gas-gas hydrate system after a long period of time (at least 10 hours) at a constant temperature.
The beginning of the process of mass hydrate formation was determined both by the pressure drop in the reactor and visually (by the appearance of a looser structure of the emulsion with interspersed particles of white hydrate). After several cycles of pumping pressure in the reactor [7], during which the growth of gas hydrate in the emulsion at a constant temperature of 2 ° C, and then, after a rapid decrease (within 30 minutes) of the temperature in the reactor to -10 ° C at a pressure 4.3 atmospheres, we detected an increase in gas hydrate under these conditions, which was accompanied by the effect of displacing water from the emulsion in a gas hydrate state.
The temperature reduction in the claimed method is necessary to maintain the stability of the emulsion throughout the process, because even with slight demulsification of the oil-water emulsion above the surface of the emulsion, an oil layer forms (since the oil density is less than the density of water and gas hydrate), which prevents the gas and the aqueous phase of the emulsion from contacting and, therefore, prevents the further process of gas hydration.
As can be seen from Figure 1a, the gas hydrate formed on the walls of the reactor, in photos 1b, 1c the white “cap” of the gas hydrate released on the surface of the emulsion is clearly visible (photo 1d shows the combustion of the gas hydrate released from the emulsion). After separating the gas hydrate and keeping the oil remaining in the cuvette at atmospheric pressure and room temperature for an hour until the gas hydrate is completely dissociated in the emulsion and gas is separated from the oil, the volume content of the remaining water in the oil was determined by the thermochemical method [1] and which was less than 5 under this thermobaric regime % (with an initial water content of 75%).
The effect we discovered can be explained using the mechanism first proposed in [8] when studying the kinetics of growth of gas hydrate in water in the presence of a surfactant. In this work, it was shown that small surfactant additives (not more than 0.1 wt.%) Do not affect the equilibrium gas hydrate formation conditions, but they increase the gas hydrate growth rate by a factor of hundreds at the stage of mass crystallization. The mechanism of influence of surfactants consists in the fact that water migrates from the liquid volume under the action of capillary forces to the gas hydration front, which contributes to the constant renewal of the gas-water interface and, therefore, to the constant growth of gas hydrate on the surface of the aqueous solution and on the side walls of the vessel, ensuring complete conversion water to gas hydrate. Since natural surfactants are always present in oil, for example asphaltenes [9] (see the table “Basic physicochemical properties of oil”), the proposed mechanism well explains the effect of water displacement in the state of gas hydrate on the surface of the oil-water emulsion and on the side walls of the reactor.
Thus, the claimed method can be considered as an element of a new "double" gas hydrate technology that allows you to utilize associated petroleum gas by gas hydration and at the same time conduct oil dehydration.
