Description
The invention relates to powder metallurgy, in particular to a method for producing highly nitrogen austenitic steel with a nanocrystalline structure.
A known method of producing mechanically alloyed nitrogen-containing steel [RF Patent No. 2425166]. A mixture of metal powders is subjected to mechanical alloying in a nitrogen atmosphere. The mass ratio of the mixture of metal powders and grinding balls is 1:30. After mechanical alloying, the mixture of metal powders is annealed in protective or reducing atmospheres, nanosized nickel powder is added to the annealed mixture, and mixing is performed. Then the finished mixture is pressed into a mold and sintered in a nitrogen-containing atmosphere at certain temperatures.
Disadvantage: nitrogen alloying requires additional thermal and mechanical treatments of the material and, therefore, the cost of technology. At the same time, high-tech operations carried out require increased quality control, which increases the likelihood of a high percentage of rejects.
A known method of producing nitrated ferrochrome [Application for IZ No. 94042483]. The method allows to obtain nitrated ferrochrome with a high nitrogen content and with minimal energy consumption. Powder of ferrochrome with a certain particle size is ignited and nitrided in combustion mode under increased nitrogen pressure, and the ferrochrome powder is preheated.
The disadvantage: the method offers the manufacture of a semi-finished product for the subsequent manufacture of austenitic nitrogen steels and quality control, and the described results correspond to the semi-finished product, and not the final product.
Known nanocrystalline material with the structure of austenitic steel having high hardness, strength and corrosion resistance and the method of its manufacture, selected for the prototype. [RF patent №2324757]. A method of manufacturing a nanocrystalline material with an austenitic steel structure involves mixing fine-grained powders, which are components for producing a certain type of austenitic steel, such as iron and chromium, nickel, manganese, carbon, with a substance that is a source of nitrogen, mechanical alloying of the mixture using a ball mill with obtaining fine-grained powders of nanocrystalline austenitic steel with a high nitrogen content. Sintering of powders of nanocrystalline austenitic steel by one or other methods, which include: rolling, electric discharge sintering, extrusion, hot isostatic pressing (HIP), cold isostatic pressing (HIP), cold pressing, hot pressing, forging, stamping or stamping by explosion, with the resulting material with the structure of austenitic steel having high hardness, strength and corrosion resistance, in the form of an aggregate of nanocrystalline grains, which contains 0.1-2 , 0 wt.% Nitrogen in solid solution. The resulting product is annealed at a temperature of 800-1250 ° C for 60 minutes or less and then cooled rapidly. An inert gas, for example argon, nitrogen gas, ammonia, or a mixture containing two or more of these gases, is used as a medium for mechanical alloying. The composition for the manufacture of austenitic steel contains 12-30 wt.% Chromium, 0-20 wt.% Nickel, 0-30 wt.% Manganese, 0.1-5.0 wt.% Nitrogen, 0.02-1.0 wt. .% carbon, iron - the rest, and the sintering process is carried out at a temperature of 600-1250 ° C. The disadvantage of the prototype is the expensive manufacturing technology of austenitic steel due to the long process of mechanical alloying (more than 200 hours), as well as the high oxygen content in the obtained powder steel, which affects the basic mechanical properties.
Задачей является удешевление технологии получения высокоазотистой аустенитной порошковой стали с нанокристаллической структурой за счет уменьшения времени механического легирования и улучшение механических свойств за счет низкого содержания кислорода (менее 0,1%).The objective is to reduce the cost of the technology for producing highly nitrogen austenitic powder steel with a nanocrystalline structure by reducing the time of mechanical alloying and improving the mechanical properties due to the low oxygen content (less than 0.1%).
To solve this problem, a method for producing high-nitrogen austenitic steel with a nanocrystalline structure is proposed. The method consists in the fact that they make up a mixture of powders of chromium, nickel, manganese and iron, place it in a volume, for example, in a metal flow reactor of a high-voltage vibration mill equipped with a flow system of gases. Grinding balls are added, for example, from ball bearing steel, from 30% to 50% of the reactor volume. After that, the reactor is sealed and the mixture is pre-purged with nitrogen-containing gas, for example, ammonia at a speed of 2-16 l / h for 10-20 minutes. Then the gas flow rate is reduced to 0.2-0.3 l / h and the mixture is subjected to mechanical alloying, for example, using a high-voltage vibratory mill. Mechanical alloying is carried out with the parameter of the dose of energy required for mechanical alloying, from 150 to 720 kJ / g. Next, the reactor with the obtained fine-grained powder of high-nitrogen austenitic steel with a nanocrystalline structure is completely sealed and quickly cooled. Then, polymethylmethacrylate is added to the reactor in an amount of 1-3% by weight of the powder and additional mechanical alloying is carried out for 10-15 minutes, after which the powder is removed and placed in a stainless steel tube, molding is carried out by hot rolling at a temperature of 800-900 ° C with compression up to 80-90% and annealing at temperatures of 1100-1200 ° C for 10-15 minutes with rapid cooling.
The loading of grinding balls in a certain volume is due to the receipt of a certain dispersion of powder of high-nitrogen austenitic steel, as well as the most productive course of mechanical alloying. During mechanical alloying in a flow reactor during the dissociation of ammonia, there is no increase in pressure above the critical norm, which, accordingly, prevents an increase in the partial pressure of nitrogen and hydrogen, at which the equilibrium shifts toward the source gas and the inhibition of the reaction of nitrogen with the powder. This allows continuous saturation of the powder with nitrogen throughout the entire time of mechanical alloying. Consequently, nitrogen saturation is much faster and, accordingly, requires lower costs for steel production. The use of ammonia as a nitrogen-containing atmosphere significantly improves the technology for producing high-nitrogen austenitic steels. Ammonia performs two functions: restoring the powder mixture, thereby improving its quality and preparing it for further interaction, and also saturates the powder with nitrogen.
The purpose of the preliminary purge is to replace oxygen in the reactor with a nitrogen-containing gas, and further purge during mechanical alloying is aimed only at maintaining a nitrogen-containing atmosphere, which allows constant saturation of the powder with nitrogen, which ultimately leads to a reduction in the time of mechanical alloying of high-nitrogen powder steel. Reducing the purge rate during mechanical alloying is aimed at saving ammonia consumption. Careful sealing limits the interaction of the starting powder with air during mechanical alloying, leading to oxidation. Microencapsulation is aimed at sealing the main powder material and giving its surface special hydrophobic properties, as well as preventing the oxidation of powders. To carry out microencapsulation, polymethyl methacrylate is added to an open reactor. Polymethyl methacrylate in 10 minutes of mechanical alloying in a vibration mill allows to obtain a dense uniform shell on the surface of the powder mixture. During further processing of powders by hot rolling, this substance plays the role of a plasticizer and during the course of rolling it evaporates without a trace, slightly increasing the carbon content in steel. The dose of energy that is calculated for this method of producing high-nitrogen austenitic steel is a determining parameter for reducing the time of mechanical alloying. The combination of distinctive features is necessary and sufficient to solve the problem.
The volume of grinding balls in the reactor of less than 30% is insufficient for the full implementation of mechanical alloying, which increases the process time. An excess of grinding balls of more than 50% leads to their jamming during mechanical alloying.
Preliminary purging with a nitrogen-containing gas of less than 2 l / h and / or less than 10 minutes does not allow the complete replacement of oxygen with a nitrogen-containing gas, and exceeding the value of 16 l / h and / or more than 20 minutes is not economically feasible. The gas purge rate during mechanical alloying of less than 0.2 l / h is insufficient for a continuous reaction of nitrogen interaction with a mixture of powders. Exceeding the purge rate of more than 0.3 l / h does not allow the complete decomposition of ammonia and is not justified from an economic point of view. When lowering the dose of energy necessary for the implementation of mechanical alloying below 150 KJ / g, mechanical alloying with the production of highly nitrogen austenitic powder steel with a nanocrystalline structure and low oxygen content is impossible. In this case, uneven mixing of the elements occurs, and the obtained nitrogen content does not exceed 0.02% due to the low decomposition rate of ammonia. An increase in the energy dose of more than 720 KJ / g contributes to the loss of the resulting product - the powder burns out due to the high specific surface energy. Microencapsulation of less than 10 minutes leads to an uneven coating of the powder with a polymer substance. An increase in microencapsulation time of more than 15 minutes is not economically feasible. The addition of polymethyl methacrylate to less than 1% by weight of the powder results in incomplete coating of the powder particles. The use of more than 3% of the polymer substance is excessive and can significantly disrupt the chemical composition of the powder mixture. Lowering the molding temperature of the obtained by mechanical alloying of the powder of high-nitrogen powder steel less than 800 ° C leads to incomplete sintering of the sample. Exceeding the sintering temperature of more than 900 ° C contributes to the deterioration of the nanocrystalline structure of steel due to uncontrolled grain growth. Compression during molding with a degree of less than 80% leads to increased porosity of the steel, which significantly impairs the mechanical properties. An increase in the degree of reduction of more than 90% leads to the destruction of the sample and increased wear of the rolls of the molding mill. Annealing after forming the steel at a temperature below 1100 ° C weakens the degree of austenization and the ferritic phase prevails in the resulting steel. An increase in the annealing temperature above 1200 ° C causes grain growth, which destroys the nanocrystalline structure.

25%.The cheaper method for producing high-nitrogen austenitic powder steel was achieved by reducing the time of the process of mechanical alloying.
