Description
The invention relates to the production of porous material from ceramics, in particular to the production of a porous structure of alumina ceramics with a differential pore distribution of micron size, and can be used in the chemical industry, including in aggressive environments at elevated temperatures, for the manufacture of catalyst supports, in water treatment, as well as in medicine for the manufacture of porous ceramic implants.
Currently, for the manufacture of implants using titanium alloys with various modifying additives, which often cause allergic reactions, and even rejection of the implant. The invention claims a method for producing a porous structure of a ceramic material.
A known method for producing porous ceramics, including preparing a suspension of a metal powder in an aqueous solution of organic matter, applying the suspension to a substrate of porous polymeric material, drying the preform, after which the preform is subjected to heat treatment at a temperature of 160-180 ° C, removing organic matter by thermal degradation and sintering ( USSR author's certificate No. 577095, IPC B22F 3/11, C22C 1/08, published October 25, 1977). To obtain ceramics in this way, first a polyurethane matrix with the required characteristics of a mesh-cellular frame is prepared, and to increase the permeability of the frame, the walls between pores (cells) are additionally removed. Then a fluid mass (suspension) is prepared from the powder with the addition of a water-soluble organic substance (carboxymethyl cellulose, polyvinyl alcohol, etc.) and the polyurethane matrix is impregnated, for example, by immersion in a suspension. Excess suspension is removed from the pores using vibration or mechanical stress (compression-tension cycles by rolling through rolls, push-ups, or centrifugation). The mass layer applied to the surface of the pores is hardened by drying. The formation of cracks in the applied layer during its drying is excluded by the choice of the type and amount of organic binder, particle size distribution of the powder, and the drying mode. Next, the polyurethane matrix is carefully removed (burned out) during heat treatment, and the remaining powder particles are further strengthened by sintering. Obtaining spherical pores of the same predetermined size in a polyurethane matrix is complex, which leads to an increase in its cost. For maximum permeability of the carcass, it is necessary to additionally remove the partitions between the pores (cells) by etching in aggressive environments. This method allows to obtain a porous ceramic material with a porosity of 70-95% and compressive strength up to 1 MPa.
The disadvantages of the method include the difficulty of applying an even layer of powder on the surface of the polyurethane matrix. To maintain the shape of the polyurethane matrix when removing the organic component, heat treatment must be carried out slowly and in a certain mode. The gases released during the decomposition of polyurethane are toxic and must be trapped and neutralized. When hardening a workpiece by hydrostatic pressing through a liquid that fills large open pores, the polyurethane matrix is inside the material and, after depressurization, breaks the workpiece due to its elastic deformation. The disadvantage of this method is the low mechanical strength characteristics of the resulting porous material.
A known method of producing porous ceramics (patent RU No. 2348487, IPC C04B 35/10, B22P 3/11, C22C 1/08, published March 10, 2009), in which a polymer matrix with a system of interconnected open pores is formed by vibration and prepress spherical paraffin granules. The pores of the matrix are impregnated with a non-dissolving fluid mass containing a technological binder, water and ceramic powder. To give the fluid mass strength, drying is carried out. The paraffin matrix is removed by smelting with the formation of a system of highly permeable pores in its place and the resulting material is hardened.
This method of obtaining porous ceramics is not technologically advanced for mass production, the creation of an additional production site is required to create spherical paraffin granules, and the removal of paraffin from the matrix is accompanied by the release of harmful gases. The disadvantage of this method is the low mechanical strength characteristics of the resulting porous ceramics.
The closest in technical essence is the method of obtaining the porous structure of alumina ceramics (see US patent No. 6565825, US class 423/625, 423/628, published 05/20/2003). Obtaining the porous structure of ceramics by this method consists in mixing the starting components: alumina with a grain size of 0.05-2.0 μm, gamma alumina, aluminum hydroxide 10-90% (vol.) With a particle size of 0.05-2, 0 microns, zirconium oxide from 1-20% (vol.), Molding and firing in two stages. The first stage of firing to a temperature of 800-1000 ° C with a heating rate of 1 to 10 ° C per minute, the second stage of firing from 1000 ° C to 1600 ° C. The material obtained in this way has a porosity of at most 65% with a pore size of 10 nm to 1000 nm, a compressive strength of 50 MPa with a specific surface area of 40 m 2 / g.
The disadvantage of this method is the small pore size (from 10 nm to 1000 nm), which can not always be used for selective filtration, including for use in medicine as implants, because cell size is in the range of 100-300 microns.
The objective of the invention is to obtain a porous ceramic material with a differential pore distribution of micron size with a compressive strength of 50-70 MPa.
The problem is solved due to the fact that in the method of obtaining a porous structure of a ceramic material, comprising mixing alumina, gamma alumina, zirconium oxide, aluminum hydroxide, molding and firing, in contrast to the prototype, alumina is used as alumina, which is mixed with 0.3-2.0% magnesium carbonate, crushed, sintered at a temperature of 1000-1500 ° C and re-crushed to a grain size of 1.5-2.5 microns, zirconia stabilized with yttrium oxide, and gamma-alumina is used in the form nanopowder and a specific surface area S = 245 m 2 / g and further mixing prior to molding administered porogen and organic additives.
Ammonium carbonate is used as a blowing agent. Gelatin and polyvinyl alcohol are used as organic additives.

A method of obtaining a porous structure of a ceramic material, such as alumina ceramic, is as follows. As the initial component, alumina of the GN brand is used, which is mixed and ground with 0.3-2.0% magnesium carbonate in a ball mill. After grinding and mixing, the mixture of powders is poured into a capsule, which is placed in a furnace (furnace) and sintered at a temperature of 1000-1500 ° C. After cooling, the cake is loaded into a ball mill and crushed to obtain a powder with an average grain size of 1.5-2.5 microns. The resulting powder is mixed with zirconia stabilized with yttrium oxide, aluminum hydroxide, with aluminum oxide nanopowder in the gamma phase with a specific surface area of S = 245 m 2 / g, ammonium carbonate, gelatin and polyvinyl alcohol. The resulting powder is molded by uniaxial pressing and calcined. The obtained porous ceramic material has the following characteristics: open porosity of 25-45%, pore size from 10 μm to 600 μm, compressive strength up to 70 MPa.
The specified set of features of a method for producing a porous structure of alumina ceramic material is new and has an inventive step, since the use of alumina in the form of feedstock generally makes it cheaper to obtain a porous ceramic material. The addition of magnesium carbonate to alumina allows to obtain aluminum-magnesium spinel, which helps to prevent crystal growth during firing of the finished product, which improves mechanical strength characteristics. Sintering of alumina with magnesium carbonate at a temperature of 1000-1500 ° C allows the alumina contained in alumina in various phases to be converted to the alpha phase, which allows strictly controlling the percentage of shrinkage in the following technological operations. Grinding the obtained alumina cake with magnesium carbonate to a grain size of 1.5-2.5 microns allows to obtain a large-porous structure of a ceramic material. The use of aluminum oxide nanopowder with a specific surface area of S = 245 m 2 / g in the gamma phase allows one to obtain a porous structure with improved mechanical strength characteristics. Stabilization of zirconium oxide with yttrium oxide allows one to stabilize the tetragonal structure of zirconium oxide, which ensures long-term mechanical strength characteristics of the obtained material. The additives of ammonium carbonate, gelatin and polyvinyl alcohol decompose and are removed during firing, forming pores of various sizes, since the molecules and granules of these compounds have different geometric parameters. Firing in one stage allows to obtain a porous ceramic material with lower costs than in the prototype, where the firing of the resulting material is carried out in two stages.
