Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the field of glass industry, in particular to a method for activating a charge for the production of foam glass.
In the glass industry in the production of foam glass, a method is known that involves introducing potassium sulfate into the mixture for glass melting at the following quantitative content, wt.%: 55-73.5 SiO 2 , 10.0-24.0 Al 2 O 3 , 1, 6-8.0 Fe 2 O 3 , 2.0-7.0 CaO, 1.3-5.0 MgO, 2.4-4.0 Na 2 O, 1.4-3.0 K 2 O, 0.2-0.8 SO 3 , 0.1-2.1 TiO 2 , 0.3-0.7 MnO [Ac USSR No. 759471, С03С 11/00, С03С 4/02, 08/30/1980]. The disadvantage of this technical solution is the high temperature of the melting and crystallization of glass.
2, 2002.02.27].The closest technical solution adopted for the prototype is a method for producing foam, which consists in the fact that to reduce the temperature of cooking and foaming glass in the composition of glass containing SiO 2 , Al 2 O 3 , Fe 2 O 3 , CaO, MgO, Na 2 O, K 2 O, TiO 2 , MnO, SO 3 , additionally enter S 2 - in the following ratio of components, wt.%: SiO 2 43.39-54.99, Al 2 O 3 7.52-9.68, Fe 2 O 3 1.69-1.95, CaO 11.96-22.08, MgO 0.93-1.05, Na 2 O 10.43-16.56, K 2 O 3.21-3, 76, MnO 0.04-0.06, TiO 2 0.32-0.43, SO 3 0.21-0.35, S 2 0.34-0.60 [Nagibin G.E., Kolosova M .M., Kirko V.I., Mazalova L.A., Rezinkina O.A. Glass for producing foam / Patent RU 2235694 C2, 2002.02.27].
However, the known method has the following disadvantages. The production of heat-insulating foam is possible only from specially welded glass melt of a certain chemical composition, which does not allow the use of cullet of sheet and container glass. The introduction of sulfides and sulfates into the mixture for glass melting can reduce the temperature of boiling and foaming only for glass of the specified composition. This leads to the fact that it is practically impossible to control the foaming process and influence the properties of foam glass, as well as to use glass of excellent composition, which significantly reduces the area of design of the compositions.
The aim of the proposed method is the activation of the mixture for the production of foam glass by introducing into its composition a solution of alkali metal sulfates.
1.This goal is achieved in that the activation method of the charge for the production of foam glass consists in grinding container or sheet glass (cullet) and foaming agent, preparing the charge, introducing an alkali metal sulfate solution (S 2 - 0.75-6H) into the charge, foaming and annealing in furnace, and the introduction of a solution of sulfate is carried out at the stage of mixing the components and preparing the mixture. A comparative analysis of the proposed solution with the prototype shows that the claimed method differs from the known one in that the introduction of an alkali metal sulfate solution is carried out at the stage of preparation of the charge, and the amount of solution introduced varies depending on the chemical composition of the glass and the type of blowing agent in the range from 5% to 10% (over 100%). The chemical composition of the glass is shown in table 1.
Thus, the claimed method meets the criteria of the invention of "novelty." Known technical solutions [A.S. USSR No. 759471, С03С 11/00, С03С 4/02, 08/30/1980], in which alkali metal sulfates are introduced into the mixture at the stage of glass melting used in the production of heat-insulating foam. However, with the introduction of sulfates at this stage of production, a significant decrease in the foaming temperature is not provided, especially for glass compositions other than the one proposed, which is achieved in the claimed technical solution.
The introduction of a solution of alkali metal sulfates at the stage of preparation of the mixture for foaming allows you to activate the processes of pore formation and growth of the gas phase when foaming carbon-containing raw material mixtures for the production of heat-insulating foam glass.
Without the presence of alkali metal sulfate, reactions in carbon-containing foaming mixtures are described by the following equations:
С+2Н2О=СО2+2Н2 C + 2H 2 O = CO 2 + 2H 2
С+Н2О=СО+Н2 C + H 2 O = CO + H 2
If the glass contains SO 2 , then the number of reactions increases:
The temperature range of these reactions is wide. But the foaming process (the processes of pore formation and growth of the gas phase) depends not only on the reaction rate, but also on the viscosity and surface tension of the glass. When using a secondary battle of glass, namely a mixture of container and sheet glass, the difference in the above parameters should be taken into account.
The introduction of alkali metal sulfate in an aqueous solution at the mixing stage allows to reduce the dusting of the mixture, accelerate the mixing process and increase the intensity of gas phase evolution in the temperature range 740-865 ° C. At these temperatures, the foaming mixture has sufficient viscosity and surface tension for the uniform formation and development of the gaseous phase of the foam glass without destroying the integrity of the cellular structure.
If there are alkali metal sulfates in the mixture, gas formation reactions are described by the following equations:
Na2SO4+2С=Na2S+2СО2 Na 2 SO 4 + 2C = Na 2 S + 2CO 2
Na2SO4+2С+SiO2(стекло)=Na2SiO3+2CO2+SNa 2 SO 4 + 2C + SiO 2 (glass) = Na 2 SiO 3 + 2CO 2 + S
But since sorbed water may exist in the glass composition in this medium at such temperatures, the chemistry of gas formation reactions is complicated and is described by the following reactions:
2S+C+2Н2О=2H2S+СО2 2S + C + 2H 2 O = 2H 2 S + CO 2
S+C+H2O=H2S+COS + C + H 2 O = H 2 S + CO
S+CO+H2O=H2S+CO2 S + CO + H 2 O = H 2 S + CO 2
The presence of hydrogen sulfide is confirmed by the smell when sawing the resulting foam glass.
Examples of specific performance.
The proposed method of activation of the mixture for the production of foam glass is implemented as follows.
The charge activation method is most effective in the production of foam glass using powder (ceramic) technology, i.e. when using mixtures of container and sheet glasses, which are mostly found in household waste. It also allows you to compensate for the difference in redox potentials (ORP) of these glasses in a foaming mixture for the production of heat-insulating glass.
When mixing the finely ground glass powder or by co-grinding the glass and the blowing agent, a 10-20% solution of sodium sulfate (Na 2 SO 4 ) is added in an amount of 5-7% (S 2 - 0.75-6H). In this case, the sulfate solution, deposited on the particles of glass and a blowing agent, allows for maximum and uniform mixing of the foaming mixture, which significantly reduces losses at the mixing stage and reduces the error of introducing the necessary amount of blowing agent. Further, the manufacturing process is carried out according to known technology. In the process of foaming, the additive reacts with a carbon blowing agent, which leads to an increase in the oxidation potential of the mixture and acceleration of the foaming process. So with the addition of a 20% solution of Na 2 SO 4 in an amount of 5% to a mixture of sheet glass, different chemical composition, soot (in an amount of 0.6%), foam glass with a density of 50 mm × 50 × 50 mm was obtained. 200 kg / m 3 . The temperature-time regime in this case amounted to t = 880 ° С and holding for 30 minutes. Whereas without an additive with the same mixture, this density is achieved at t = 900 ° C and a holding time of 40 minutes.
This method allows to reduce the number of defects in the production of foam glass and meets the requirements for the uniformity of the original glass. By adjusting the ORP in this way, it is possible to control the pore formation in the foam glass.
Using the method is possible on foam glass production lines operating on purchased cullet, it will also allow plants working on glass granulate to introduce cullet into the mixture.
The process of activation of the charge can be implemented in the production of foam glass.
The method is most effective when using container and sheet glass compositions for the production of foam glass.
Using the proposed method of activation of the charge for the production of foam glass provides, in comparison with existing methods, the following advantages:
1. A decrease in the foaming temperature of the material and, as a consequence, a decrease in the energy intensity of production.
2. In addition, due to the uniform distribution of the solution of alkali metal sulfates throughout the volume of the charge for foaming, its reactivity increases.
3. Ability to use for a wide range of compositions.
