Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the metallurgy of non-ferrous metals and alloys and can be used in the manufacture of ingots.
Из существующего уровня техники известен способ модифицирования структуры литого металла, включающий ускоренную кристаллизацию на поверхности водоохлаждаемых валков-кристаллизаторов с последующей деформацией закристаллизовавшейся части (RU 2257419 C1, МПК C22F 1/04, 2005 г.).The prior art method for modifying the structure of cast metal, including accelerated crystallization on the surface of water-cooled rolls of molds, followed by deformation of the crystallized part (RU 2257419 C1, IPC C22F 1/04, 2005).
Crystallization on the surface of the rolls with subsequent deformation allows to obtain high cooling rates and, as a result, grinding the granular structure of the ingot, however, it requires a complex system of mechanical units, which complicates the whole process.
Наиболее близким к заявляемому способу является способ получения слитка, включающий подачу расплава в индуктор, воздействие на расплав и удержание расплава от растекания в области кристаллизации переменным электромагнитным полем заданной частоты, охлаждение жидкости непосредственно на поверхности расплава и кристаллизацию слитка (SU 1375403А1, МПК B22D 11/01, 1988 г.).Closest to the claimed method is a method of producing an ingot, which includes supplying the melt to the inductor, influencing the melt and keeping the melt from spreading in the crystallization region with an alternating electromagnetic field of a given frequency, cooling the liquid directly on the melt surface and crystallizing the ingot (SU 1375403A1, IPC B22D 11 / 01, 1988).
Недостатком данного способа является то, что слитки, получаемые в процессе литья, имеют неоднородную структуру в объеме, так как скорость кристаллизации расплава на поверхности и в сердцевине слитка существенно различается (поверхность - 50 мкм, сердцевина 85 мкм).The disadvantage of this method is that the ingots obtained during the casting process have a heterogeneous structure in volume, since the rate of crystallization of the melt on the surface and in the core of the ingot varies significantly (surface - 50 μm, core 85 μm).
The task to be solved by the claimed invention is aimed at improving the quality of the alloy, expressed in a uniform cross-sectional refinement of the grain structure of the resulting semi-finished product.
The problem is solved in that in the method of producing an ingot of non-ferrous metal alloys, including supplying the melt to the inductor, influencing the melt and keeping the melt from spreading in the crystallization area with an alternating electromagnetic field of a given frequency, cooling the ingot by supplying a cooling liquid directly to the melt surface and crystallization ingot, according to the invention, the frequency of the electromagnetic field is selected based on the expression
гдеWhere
γ - электропроводность расплава;γ is the electrical conductivity of the melt;
rсл - радиус сферы, вписанной в отливаемый объем слитка, составляющий не более 20 мм;r SL is the radius of the sphere inscribed in the cast volume of the ingot, which is not more than 20 mm;
0 is the magnetic constant.
Figure 1 schematically shows a device for implementing the proposed method for producing an ingot from non-ferrous metal alloys, figure 2 - structure of alloy 01417M.
2.The presented device contains an inductor 1 and a cooler 2.
A method of obtaining an ingot of non-ferrous metal alloys is as follows. Inductor 1, powered by a current of a given frequency, creates an alternating electromagnetic field. Cooler 2 is designed to supply coolant to the melt. The molten metal 3 is fed into the electromagnetic field of the inductor 1. Under the influence of an electromagnetic field in the liquid metal 3, eddy currents are induced, the interaction of which with the magnetic field leads to the emergence of electromagnetic forces. The potential component of the electromagnetic forces 4 prevents the metal melt from spreading and eliminates the use of additional forms for holding, and the vortex component causes the metal volume to move along the path 5. By means of the cooler 2, the cooling liquid 6 is supplied directly to the melt, due to which accelerated crystallization of the metal melt occurs 3 in zone 7. The forced convection provided by the movement of the molten metal along trajectory 5 equalizes the cooling conditions over the entire cross section of the ingot. The melt continuously solidifies, forming a solid phase 8 of the ingot, and is removed from the electromagnetic field.
To ensure a high coefficient of heat transfer from the melt surface, it is recommended to use 2 spray coolers as a cooler. The high heat transfer coefficient when using this design of the cooler is explained by the churning of a vapor film formed due to boiling of the coolant in contact with the molten metal.
The choice of the electromagnetic field frequency is made taking into account the electrical conductivity of the melt and the requirements for the geometric dimensions of the obtained ingot from the condition
гдеWhere
γ - электропроводность расплава;γ is the electrical conductivity of the melt;
rсл - радиус сферы, вписанной в отливаемый объем слитка;r SL is the radius of the sphere inscribed in the cast volume of the ingot;
0 is the magnetic constant.
It was experimentally determined that in order to obtain the effect of accelerated crystallization from rapid cooling of an aluminum alloy, the radius of the sphere inscribed in the cast ingot should not be more than 20 mm. With an increase in the radius greater than the indicated one, a non-uniformity of the structure in the cross section will appear with distance from the outer surface, associated with the deterioration of the cooling conditions.
Thus, for example, to obtain an ingot with a radius of 5 mm from aluminum alloy 01417M, an alternating electromagnetic field is applied to it with a frequency
гдеWhere
γ=22·106 - электропроводность алюминиевого сплава 01417М в жидком состоянии (Ом·м)-1;γ = 22 · 10 6 - electrical conductivity of the aluminum alloy 01417M in the liquid state (Ohm · m) -1 ;
rсл=0,005 - радиус сферы, вписанной в отливаемый объем слитка, м;r SL = 0.005 is the radius of the sphere inscribed in the cast volume of the ingot, m;
µ0=4·π·10-7 - магнитная постоянная, Гн/м.µ 0 = 4 · π · 10 -7 is the magnetic constant, GN / m
Stable formation of the ingot is ensured by the fulfillment of two conditions:
1. положение зоны кристаллизации 8 должно быть в области наибольшей концентрации электромагнитных сил, например, для цилиндрического индуктора, на половине высоты индуктора;1. the position of the crystallization zone 8 should be in the region of the highest concentration of electromagnetic forces, for example, for a cylindrical inductor, at half the height of the inductor;
2. the need to observe the equality of electromagnetic pressure (the ratio of electromagnetic force to the surface on which this force acts) created by the inductor, and hydrostatic pressure created by the volume of liquid metal. The position of the crystallization zone during casting into a cylindrical inductor can be controlled by changing the speed of the translational motion of the ingot.
The value of hydrostatic pressure depends on the height of the liquid metal column above the phase transition zone. The magnitude of the electromagnetic pressure depends on the magnitude of the current in the inductor. Therefore, to ensure the stable formation of an ingot of a given shape, it is necessary either to maintain a constant height of the liquid metal column at a constant current value, or to regulate the current value in the inductor when the height of the liquid metal column changes.
Образцы имели мелкокристаллическую структуру с размером зерен от 10 до 15 мкм (фиг.2 и таблица 1).Using this method, samples with a radius of 5 mm were obtained from 01417M aluminum alloy for studying the microstructure. The samples had a crystalline structure with a grain size of 10 to 15 μm (Fig.2 and table 1).
The proposed method has the following advantages:
- позволяет получать отливки с размером зерна менее 20 мкм;- allows you to get castings with a grain size of less than 20 microns;
- удержание расплава электромагнитными силами позволяет исключить конструктивные элементы для создания формы полуфабриката;- retention of the melt by electromagnetic forces eliminates structural elements to create the shape of the semi-finished product;
- отсутствие промежуточного контакта (формы) между охлаждающей жидкостью и расплавом позволяет получить высокий коэффициент теплоотдачи с поверхности слитка и значительно увеличить скорость кристаллизации;- the absence of intermediate contact (form) between the coolant and the melt allows to obtain a high heat transfer coefficient from the surface of the ingot and significantly increase the crystallization rate;
- воздействие на расплав электромагнитным полем позволяет создать профиль движения металла в объеме его жидкой фазы на поверхности зоны кристаллизации, обеспечивающий выравнивание условий охлаждения по сечению получаемого слитка.- exposure to the melt by an electromagnetic field allows you to create a profile of the movement of the metal in the volume of its liquid phase on the surface of the crystallization zone, ensuring equalization of the cooling conditions along the cross section of the obtained ingot.
