Abstract
Description
The invention relates to rolling production and can be used to obtain hot-rolled steel strips with rhombic and lentil corrugation.
[1].A known method of hot rolling steel strips with one-sided corrugation, including multi-pass compression in the stands of a continuous broadband mill, according to which the last pass is carried out in work rolls, on the surface of the barrel of one of which alternating rows of holes are made, and the other has a smooth barrel [1].
The disadvantages of this method are that the work rolls have low resistance due to cyclic thermal and power loads that occur during the hot rolling of strips, which increases the consumption of work rolls and reduces the quality of steel strips with one-side corrugation.
[2].The closest analogue to the present invention is a method comprising hot rolling of strips with one-sided lentil corrugation in the final pass with compression of 27% in work rolls, on the surface of the barrel of one of which (top) alternating rows of holes are made, and paired with it (bottom) working the roll has a smooth barrel, while the inclined side walls of the holes are interconnected along an arc with a regulated curvature [2].
The disadvantages of this method are that the cyclic thermal and power loads that occur in the work roll with holes when rolling steel strips with intensive cooling of the work rolls with water lead to cracks and their development deep into the active layer. This leads to increased wear of the work rolls and the need to increase the thickness of the layer to be removed from the surface of the corrugated barrel during resurfacing, which increases the expenditure coefficient of the rolls. In addition, during the rolling process, the shape of the holes (due to wear) and reefs on the surface of the strips is distorted, which negatively affects the quality of the strips and the output of the conditioned products.
The technical result of the invention is to reduce the expenditure coefficient of the work rolls and improve the quality of the strips.
The technical result is achieved by the fact that in the method of hot rolling of steel strips with one-sided corrugation, including multi-pass compression, while the compression in the final passage is carried out in work rolls, the holes are made on the surface of the barrel of one of them, according to the invention, the rolling in the final passage is carried out with relative a compression of 10 ÷ 20% at a strip temperature of 780 ÷ 950 ° C and with a mismatch of the peripheral speeds of the work rolls equal to 1.1 ÷ 3.2%, while the depth of the holes is 1.2 ÷ 4.5 mm.
The invention consists in the following. The temperature-deformation mode of rolling corrugated strips should simultaneously provide both high corrugation indices and their high mechanical properties.
In order to avoid overheating of the work rolls, hot rolling of corrugated strips is carried out with intensive cooling of their barrels with water. The presence of holes on one of the work rolls leads to the appearance of contact asymmetry of deformation on the sides of the strip, which, in the presence of intensive cooling of the rolls, ultimately leads to an intensification of the wear and cracking mechanism in the active layer of barrels. With a relative compression of 10 ÷ 20%, the introduction of a mismatch in the peripheral speeds of the work rolls with a value of 1.1 ÷ 3.2% allows you to compensate for the contact asymmetry due to the presence of holes, as well as to reduce the gradient effect of temperature from contact interaction with a strip having a temperature of 780 ÷ 950 ° С, thereby reducing the effect of the vapor-explosive effect of thermal shock on wells with a depth of 1.2–4.5 mm.
Compensation of asymmetry reduces the negative impact of the presence of holes that weaken the barrel of the roll, on its resistance to the formation of crumbs and subsequent destruction. In addition, when crimping a strip having a temperature of 780 ÷ 950 ° C, and with a hole depth of 1.2 ÷ 4.5 mm, the most complete transfer of the relief of the corrugated roll barrel to the strip is achieved, the formation of reefs of a given shape (lentil and rhombic), increase complex mechanical properties, which improves the quality of strips of carbon and low alloy steels.
At the indicated magnitude of the velocity mismatch, the adhesion zone on the corrugated roll extends over the entire length of the deformation zone, due to which there is no surface contact sliding of the metal and the most complete mirror transfer of the roll relief to the strip is achieved, contact tangential stresses, which cause increased wear and destruction of the barrel, are reduced. Also, by creating speed (kinematic) asymmetry, negative destructive phenomena associated with the presence of corrugations of lentil and rhombic holes on the barrel surface of one of the rolls are compensated.
It was experimentally established that with a relative reduction of less than 10% and a temperature below 780 ° C, complete transfer of the corrugated work roll to the strip is not achieved, the plastic properties of steel are reduced (elongation δ 4 ), which affects the quality of the strips. With an increase in the relative compression of more than 20% and the temperature of the strip of carbon and low alloy steels more than 950 ° C, the strength properties of the bands decrease (tensile strength σ in ), the temperature loads on the contact surfaces of the barrels of work rolls increase. This increases the wear of the work rolls and reduces the quality of the steel strips.
In the case when the mismatch of the rolls is less than 1.1%, a slip zone is maintained on the part of the deformation zone, which leads to an increase in the roll consumption and a decrease in the quality of the corrugated strip. With an increase in the mismatch in peripheral velocities of more than 3.2%, overcompensation occurs: a lag zone is formed in the deformation zone of the roll with holes, contact sliding increases, which leads to increased wear of the rolls and distortion of the shape of the reefs and the strip as a whole due to its bending.
When the depth of the holes is less than 1.2 mm, their printability on the strip surface is deteriorated, the height of the reefs does not meet the requirements of consumers. Increasing the depth of the holes more than 4.5 mm leads to weakening of the barrel and its intensive destruction under the influence of cyclic thermomechanical influences, which, ultimately, leads to accelerated destruction of the roll, reducing the quality of the strips.
Method implementation examples
In the 11th stand of the quarto continuous broadband mill 2000, a couple of cast-iron work rolls are rolled up for rolling corrugated strips. The work roll is overwhelmed with the top, the barrel of which has lentil corrugation with a hole depth of h = 2.1 mm, and the lower work roll paired with it has a smooth barrel.
A slab 250 mm thick of 09GS low-alloy steel is heated in a methodical furnace with walking beams to a temperature of Т а = 1250 ° С and is fed to the continuous rolling table of a continuous wide-band mill 2000. The heated slab is rolled in the roughing group of stands to an intermediate thickness of 40 mm, after which it is set in continuous finishing group of quarto stands. In the finishing group of stands, the strip is crimped to a final thickness of 4.0 mm with a rolling end temperature t kn = 850 ° C. Compression in the 11th mill stand is maintained equal to ε = 15%. Rolling is carried out with intensive cooling of the work rolls with water and with a mismatch of the peripheral speed of the rolls a 11 = 2.1%, set by the main drive engines.
In the process of compression in the 11th stand, the relief of the roll with holes is transferred to the strip and reefs are formed on it. Due to the mismatch of the peripheral speeds of the rolls, a sticking zone is formed on the roll with the holes, which extends over the entire length of the deformation zone, and protrusions (reefs) with a given shape and height of 2.0 mm corresponding to the consumer's demand are formed on the strip.
The rolled strips are subjected to accelerated cooling with water to the optimum winding temperature of 640 ÷ 750 ° C, determined experimentally. As a result, the finished strips have high mechanical properties, the yield of corrugated strips is Q = 100%, and the specific consumption of rolls q = 1.2 kg per ton of rolled products is minimal.
Implementations of the proposed method are presented in the table.
As follows from the data given in the table, the proposed method (options 2-4) provides an increase in the quality of steel strips with one-sided corrugation and a decrease in the expenditure coefficient of work rolls. In cases of transcendental values of the declared parameters (options 1 and 5), as well as the implementation of the prototype method (option 6), there is an increase in the expenditure coefficient of work rolls and a deterioration in the quality of corrugated strips.
The technical and economic advantages of the proposed method are that the rolling of strips of their carbon and low alloy steels with a relative compression in the last pass of at least 10% at a strip temperature of 780 ÷ 950 ° C and a mismatch in the peripheral speeds of the work rolls of 1.1 ÷ 3, 2%, with a hole depth of 1.2 ÷ 4.5 mm, the asymmetry compensation due to the presence of holes on one of the work rolls and the formation of adhesion zones spread over the entire length of the deformation zone are provided due to the introduced speed asymmetry. This eliminates the contact sliding of metal on the roll barrels, improves the transfer of the topography of the roll with holes to the strip, reduces wear of the work rolls and their consumption. At the same time, the specified temperature-deformation mode of rolling forms high mechanical properties of corrugated strips.
5÷7%.The prototype method is taken as the base object. Using the proposed method allows to increase the profitability of the production of hot rolled strips with unilateral lentil and rhombic corrugation by an average of 5-7%.
