Abstract
Description
The invention relates to methods for encoding and decoding data and can be used in various fields of economic activity for compact recording of a large amount of information, for example, on travel documents of small size, accompanying documents, product labels, as well as for marking industrial products.
Known methods of encoding and decoding data in order to recognize objects using a one-dimensional barcode, which has been widely used in the last two to three decades. Linear (one-dimensional) are barcodes read in one direction (horizontally). The most common linear symbols are: EAN, UPC, Code39, Code128, Codabar, Interleaved 2 of 5. Linear barcodes allow you to encode a small amount of information (up to 20-30 characters - usually digits) using simple barcodes read by inexpensive scanners.
Расшифровка такого кода проводится в двух измерениях (по горизонтали и по вертикали).The next stage in the development of this method was the creation of two-dimensional code, which is being actively implemented at the present time. Two-dimensional symbols are symbols designed to encode a large amount of information (up to several pages of text). Two-dimensional code is read using a special scanner of two-dimensional codes and allows you to quickly and accurately enter a large amount of information. Decryption of such a code is carried out in two dimensions (horizontally and vertically).
However, two-dimensional black and white codes do not satisfy modern requirements for the amount of encoded information. The introduction of color makes it possible to increase the information content of matrix coding; the possibility of using color codes has increased with the advent of cameras such as CCD and CMOS, capable of distinguishing colors. For example, the well-known technical solution / US 5426289, G06K 19/06, 1995 / proposes the use of conventional dyes in color barcodes, which are applied in the form of columns and grouped in a certain way, which makes it possible to increase the amount of encoded information several times.
The patent / US 5992748, G06K 19/06, 1999 / proposes the use of conventional dyes in special color two-dimensional codes, which makes it possible to increase the amount of encoded information several times.
Both of these methods are characterized by insufficient reliability associated with the scanner reading such matrix codes, since the degree of illumination of the object, as well as the presence of shades of colors of the used dyes create problems in scanning.
Therefore, developers of encoding and decoding methods of information turned their attention to luminescent dyes, which solved the reliability problem, but required non-standard technical solutions in the manufacture of an optoelectronic device for reading information. So in the patent / US 5576528, G06K 19/06, 1996 / a method of encoding information in a barcode by applying three types of color inks of "different colors" in each stroke. " Further, using a filter system and three cameras, these “colors” are separated into components, followed by barcode decoding. The use of fluorescent lighting can increase the reliability of reading a barcode, and also reduces the size of traditional barcodes by three times. However, this encoding-decoding method still does not meet current requirements for the amount of encoded information.
The present invention is to provide a method of encoding and decoding data devoid of these disadvantages. The technical result of the proposed method is to increase reliability and increase the amount of encoded data. Reliable reading will allow the creation of a remote reader, which is especially attractive for logistics applications. The multicomponent spectral signature of luminescent materials will also enable reliable verification of the authenticity of encoded documents and objects.
To solve the problem, as well as to achieve the claimed technical result, a method for encoding and decoding data is proposed, in which encoding involves applying a luminescent dye to the matrix code object, and decoding involves reading information using an optoelectronic device and decrypting it using a previously created algorithm. Moreover, the data is applied by at least three different luminescent dyes, which significantly differ from each other in color, intensity and luminescence lifetime, and information decoding involves illuminating the matrix code with a light source and fixing the luminescent radiation with an optoelectronic device. The data on the spatial configuration of the matrix code, the spectral band, the intensity and duration of the luminescent glow are recorded and transmitted to a decoding device.
In addition, it is proposed that the matrix code be illuminated by a pulsed light source.
Additionally, it is proposed that the luminescent radiation be fixed by an optoelectronic device when the light source is turned off.
In addition, it is proposed that the matrix code be illuminated with constant radiation, modulated in amplitude, and the luminescent radiation is fixed by an optoelectronic device when the light source is on.
Additionally, it is proposed that the matrix code be illuminated with a coherent light source.
In addition, it is proposed that the matrix code be illuminated with light with a wavelength of either less or more than the emission wavelength of the constituent phosphor.
In addition, it is proposed that the matrix code be illuminated by several pulses of light that excite various components of the phosphors.
Additionally, it is proposed that the matrix code be illuminated by sequential illumination of each element with a separate radiation pulse.
In addition, it is proposed that the luminescent radiation be fixed by several optoelectronic devices, the number of which is equal to the number of luminescent dyes, and each of the optoelectronic devices should be equipped with a narrow-band spectral filter or a spectrally selective element, so that the optoelectronic device can detect the luminescence of only one phosphor.
Additionally, it is proposed to fix the luminescent radiation by a multi-channel optoelectronic device with a total number of spectrally sensitive channels equal to the number of phosphors.
Additionally, it is proposed to fix the luminescent radiation by an optoelectronic device that registers individual phosphors in series by stepwise changing the recording spectral band of the device. At the same time, it is possible to use a video camera equipped with a lens with interchangeable spectral filters as an optoelectronic device, and the luminescent radiation fixation frequency and spectral filter change frequency are synchronized so that each frame records the image of the glow of one phosphor.
In addition, it is proposed, when fixing luminescent radiation, to register two frames in the same spectral range, with different time delays from the moment of the exciting pulse, followed by pairwise subtraction of the pulses to obtain an image free of external illumination.
In addition, it is proposed to fix the time of the luminophore glow using subsequent processing of two frames obtained with different time delays.
It is additionally proposed to use nanostructured phosphors as a luminescent dye, which can be local or nonlocal color centers in nanocrystals.
In addition, it is proposed to use nanocomplexes based on organic dyes as a luminescent dye.
In addition, it is proposed to use quantum dots as a luminescent dye.
2% Er3+.In addition, it is proposed to use a nanostructured composition containing doped salts of rare-earth metals and lanthanides, for example, containing NaYF 4 doped with 20% Yb 3+ and 2% Er 3+ as a luminescent dye.
The use of several luminescent dyes for applying a matrix code with subsequent recording of data on the spatial configuration of the matrix code, the spectral band, the intensity and duration of the luminescent glow during decoding can increase the amount of encoded information by one measurement - according to the relative intensity of the phosphor signal, for example, maximum, average and minimum signals. Exposure to external radiation sources can be significantly suppressed by the use of narrow-band light filters, which is difficult to achieve in the case of broadband pigments. And so, the immunity of the luminescent matrix code (LMC) to external exposure increases sharply, which can significantly increase the reliability of the method.
The drawing shows one of the hardware options of the proposed method, where 1 is an object coated with LMK, 2 is a laser light source, 3 is a collimating module, 4 is a lens, 5 is a light filter, 6 is a video camera, 7 is a reader, 8 is a computer. The method is as follows. A laser light source 2, a collimated module 3, is irradiated with LMK 1 and a code fluorescence signal is excited, which is collected by the lens 4 and recorded by video camera 6. Video camera 6 converts the light signal into an electronic one, which allows digitizing, processing and archiving information in computer codes that are unique to this LMK . Signal processing by reader 7 and computer 8 is similar to the 2D code system algorithm, allowing the use of traditional decoders and computer communication protocols. The fundamental difference lies in the fact that the fluorescent / luminescent nature of the light signals allows them to be effectively filtered by narrow-band spectral filters 5, leading to a significant suppression of the background.
Examples of the method.
Example 1. The code was applied by screen in three layers on a plastic card made of polyvinyl chloride. The layer was a luminescent powder mixed in varnish. Three types of phosphors excited by an infrared laser at a wavelength of 980 nm were used [the so-called anti-Stokes phosphors): FLS-IR (La 2 O 2 .TmYb with a luminescence duration of 1.5 · 10 -4 sec), FLZ-IR (La 2 O 2 .ErYb with a luminescence of 4.2 · 10 -4 sec) and FLK-IR-ZM (YOCl (F). YbEr with a luminescence duration of 3.5 · 10 -4 sec), which are highlighted, respectively, in the blue, green and red spectral ranges. The nomenclature of luminescent materials is given in accordance with the nomenclature of products of the company “Luminophore Platan”. The resulting varnish was applied layer by layer in the form of a 2D code of 1 × 1 cm in size, containing text information encoded in a field of 14 × 14 elements. To record the image of the luminescent 2D code, we used a color USB video camera (manufacturer Bayer, size 1/2 ", 1280 × 960 pixels, scan 15 frames per second). The camera recorded the image synchronously with a 980 nm laser pulse exciting the code. The image was captured and It was processed using LabVIEW (National Instruments, ver.9). The colors of the composite image were separated by this program and decoded, so that three texts that were originally encoded appeared on the output. Istemi was demonstrated post 3-one-time seal of information due to the recording layer 3 by 3 phosphors.
Example 2. On a glossy paper, three fluorescent layers of FLK-1M (based on yttrium-europium oxysulfides with a glow time of 10 -3 sec) were applied. FLS-IR, FLZ-IR, configured as 20-codes with encoded text information. Two layers were excited and read out by two consecutive light pulses: the first layer of PLK-1M was excited by an ultraviolet LED [Nichia, NCSU033A, power 250 mW) at a wavelength of 365 nm with a radiation spectrum width of 10 nm, and was highlighted in the red band of the spectrum with a center of 650 nm; two second layers of FLS-IR, FLZ-IR were excited by an infrared laser at a wavelength of 980 nm and were read by a color video camera, while the two colors were separated on a computer and decoded. All three luminescent layers were luminescent in the visible spectral region, and separate light excitation / registration allowed to successfully decode all three codes. Thus, information was recorded with a triple multiplexing, which was decoded using spectrally different exciting light pulses.
