Abstract
Description
1995. №1, - с.137-146).The invention relates to improving the quality and reliability of main gas pipelines and can be used to divert the walls of main gas pipelines during their operation. During the transportation of gases, hydrogen accumulates in the walls of the main gas pipelines. With a high concentration of hydrogen in the walls, the steel of the wall becomes brittle, which under certain conditions leads to the loss of stability of the pipelines and their destruction (V.N. Polyakov. Disasters of large diameter pipelines. The role of hydrogen fields. Problems of strength. 1995. No. 1, p. 137-146).
Known devices in which ionizing radiation is used during the operation of main gas pipelines. These devices are used only for monitoring and diagnostics of gas pipelines, but will not allow reducing the concentration of hydrogen in the walls and preventing embrittlement of steel.
Наиболее близким является устройство для индикации местоположения поршня в трубопроводе, содержащее капсулу с радиоактивным источником, размещенным внутри контейнера, закрепленного на поршне (авторское свидетельство №315035, G01D 15/14, 1971).The closest is a device for indicating the location of the piston in the pipeline containing a capsule with a radioactive source located inside the container mounted on the piston (copyright certificate No. 315035, G01D 15/14, 1971).
A disadvantage of the known device is that it does not allow the separation of the walls of the main gas pipelines.
The objective of the invention is to develop a method and a device for the dissociation of the material of the walls of the main gas pipelines due to irradiation with a low dose rate of ionizing radiation and elimination of plastic deformation zones as a result.
A positive effect is achieved by moving the irradiating system inside the gas pipeline under the action of the transported gas, by exciting the hydrogen atmosphere in the entire wall of the gas pipeline under the influence of ionizing radiation, which leads to the release of excited hydrogen from the entire volume of the wall.
11.The implementation scheme of the proposed method is presented in figure 1. The section of the irradiated gas pipeline 1 is depicted, in which the irradiation system is located, mounted inside an airtight container 2, equipped with a running gear 3, which provides free movement of the irradiation system through the gas pipeline under the action of the transported gas. The irradiating system includes a
The proposed method of dissociation of the walls of the main gas pipelines is implemented as follows.
д.с.An irradiating system installed in an airtight container 2 and equipped with a running gear 3 is passed through gas pipeline 1, which ensures free movement of the irradiating system through the gas pipeline under the action of the transported gas in the direction of the arrow. The lead screen (9) is opened before the irradiation system begins to move. When the irradiating system moves along the gas pipeline, the walls of the gas pipeline are irradiated with ionizing radiation. In the process of irradiation in the material of the walls of the gas pipeline, annihilation of interstitial atoms with genetically related vacancies of the crystal lattice of the material occurs. During annihilation, the energy stored in the vacancies of the crystal lattice is equal to 9 eV. This leads to an increase in temperature in the annihilation region. Then, the temperature in the annihilation region sharply decreases to the ambient temperature over a time component of a microsecond (Fig. 2). This leads to the formation of a shock wave. Propagating along the material of the walls of the gas pipeline, the shock wave excites the hydrogen atmosphere formed in the walls during the transportation of gas through the gas pipeline. Excitation of the hydrogen atmosphere leads to the release of hydrogen from the walls of the pipeline. The hydrogen output continues after irradiation for a long time (figure 3). The decrease in hydrogen concentration in the walls of the gas pipeline can be controlled by SEM, SIMS, acoustic emission, thermal emf methods.
Figure 4 shows optical images of the surface of steel samples obtained by scanning electron microscopy after the introduction of hydrogen:

Figure 5 shows the optical image of the surface of the gas steel, obtained by scanning electron microscopy, after the introduction of hydrogen and irradiation with ionizing radiation:
а - после введения водорода в течение 120 мин; б - после введения водорода в течение 120 мин с последующим облучением в течение 60 с; в - после введения водорода в течение 120 мин с последующим облучением в течение 120 с.a - after the introduction of hydrogen for 120 minutes; b - after the introduction of hydrogen for 120 min, followed by irradiation for 60 s; c - after the introduction of hydrogen for 120 min followed by irradiation for 120 s.
Hydrogenation for 15 minutes has little effect on the surface condition. A subsequent increase in the hydrogenation time up to 60 min leads to the formation of defects on the surface. With further hydrogenation, cracks appear along the entire surface of the steel of the gas pipeline. Irradiation of hydrogenated pipeline steel leads to a significant improvement in the surface condition as a result of the release of hydrogen.
Irradiation is carried out at a dose rate of ionizing radiation of more than 0.015-0.018 R / s. At a lower dose rate of ionizing radiation, a large hydrogen output from the walls of the gas pipeline is not achieved and a large exposure time is required.
