Abstract
Description
The technical solution relates to the mining industry, namely the enrichment of minerals by flotation, and can be used in deep processing of ore and non-metallic mineral raw materials.
A known method of flotation extraction of finely dispersed impurities from water by electroflotation (Yakovlev S.V., Krasnoborodko I.G., Rogov V.M. Technology of electrochemical water treatment. L.: Stroyizdat, Leningrad Branch, 1987, pp. 165-175, 261 -264). Electroflotation is carried out by passing small gas bubbles through the treated volume of the suspension in the case of flotation of solids or emulsion in the case of extracting drops of oil. Small bubbles of gas, mainly hydrogen and oxygen, are obtained by electrolytic decomposition of water. The decisive role in the process of electroflotation is played by hydrogen bubbles released at the cathode. Their size and formation intensity mainly depend on the composition of the electrolyte, surface tension at the electrode-solution interface, material and shape of the electrodes, and current density.
The electroflotation method for the extraction of mineral particles has several disadvantages associated with the low lifting force of thin bubbles and the low ascent rate of mineralized bubbles, which reduce the specific productivity of the electroflotation apparatus. Increasing the productivity of the electroflotation apparatus is especially important in the flotation separation of minerals containing non-ferrous and noble metals. These minerals with a high density, to a greater extent reduce the rate of rise of flotation complexes "bubble-mineral particles" in the flotation concentrate.
The closest in technical essence and the totality of essential features is the method of flotation separation of finely dispersed minerals according to the patent of the Russian Federation No. 2254170, B03D 1/02, 1/24, publ. in BIPM No. 17, 2005, which includes saturation of a mineral suspension with gas bubbles by mixing it with a previously prepared mechanical dispersion of a gas-water emulsion, mineralization of gas bubbles, and separation of mineralized bubbles in the form of a flotation concentrate. The mineral suspension is mixed with a gas-water emulsion containing from 66 to 70% gas in the form of bubbles with sizes less than 50 microns. The process of mineralization of gas bubbles is produced while stirring and moving the suspension in ascending and descending flows.
The disadvantages of this method include the low recovery of the useful component in the foam product, due to the low probability of fixing the extracted fine particles of the useful component on the surface of the bubble. The low probability of fixing is associated with a significant decrease in surface tension at the gas-water interface. Mechanical dispersion of the gas phase is associated with the reverse process - coalescence, that is, the fusion of small bubbles and the formation of large ones. To shift the equilibrium towards small bubbles and fix their size in the range of predominantly less than 50 microns, it is necessary to supply surfactants into the dispersible volume. Without the introduction of a surfactant, coalescence of small bubbles occurs, and it is not possible to obtain a thin gas-water emulsion. The use of surfactants at high concentrations allows us to achieve this goal and to increase the likelihood of encountering bubbles and fine particles of a useful component obtained by deep processing of ores. But a high concentration of surfactants leads to a decrease in the surface tension of the suspension, which prevents the positive effect of the use of collector reagents and the formation of particle-bubble flotation complexes. As a result, the positive effect of the use of small bubbles obtained by mechanical crushing of the gas phase disappears, the extraction of valuable minerals in the flotation concentrate practically does not increase.
The technical task of the proposed method is to increase the efficiency of flotation concentration of ores containing sulfide minerals and gold, by reducing the loss of valuable minerals in the form of fine particles of the useful component and increasing the specific productivity of the flotation machine by increasing the speed of transportation of the mineral load.
The problem is achieved in that in the method of flotation concentration of ores containing sulfide minerals and gold, including the preparation of a gas-water emulsion, saturation of the mineral suspension with gas bubbles by mixing it with the prepared gas-water emulsion, the mineralization of gas bubbles and the separation of mineralized bubbles in the form of a flotation concentrate, according to the technical solution an oxygen-water gas-water emulsion is prepared by the electrochemical method by passing water through the anode chamber of a flowing membrane elec rolizera. At the same time, the mineral suspension is saturated with hydrogen bubbles, mainly of a size of 50 μm or less, passing it through the cathode chamber of a flowing membrane electrolyzer. After mixing the mineral suspension with the oxygen-water gas emulsion, the resulting mixture is sent to the chamber of the flotation machine, where it is mixed and saturated with air bubbles of ordinary flotation size.
The electrochemical method allows you to get small oxygen bubbles without the use of surfactants, that is, maintaining a high surface tension of water. High surface tension of water is one of the necessary conditions for the formation of particle-bubble flotation complexes.
Mixing the mineral suspension with the oxygen-water emulsion gas-water emulsion previously prepared by the electrochemical method, which is obtained by passing water through the anode chamber of the flow-through membrane electrolyzer, allows the mineral suspension to be saturated with small oxygen bubbles. Dissolution of oxygen in water will increase the redox potential of the mineral suspension. Oxygen in the initial period of exposure promotes sorption on the sulfide particles of the mineral suspension of anions and flotation reagent-collector molecules and dehydration of their surface. Selective fixation of the collector reagent hydrophobizes the surface of the recovered minerals, increases their potential ability to form flotation complexes.
Passing the mineral suspension through the cathode chamber of the flow-through membrane electrolyzer allows it to be saturated with small hydrogen bubbles, mainly less than 50 microns in size. Small hydrogen bubbles are formed as a result of electrochemical reactions without the use of surfactants. With this method of generating hydrogen bubbles, a high surface tension of the water in the suspension is maintained. The use of small hydrogen bubbles of the specified size increases the likelihood of meeting objects - bubbles and fine particles of the useful component. The absence of surfactants required to obtain small bubbles during mechanical crushing of the gas phase, and the high surface tension of the mineral suspension contribute to the fixation of fine particles of sulfides and gold on the bubbles and the formation of flotation complexes. Thus, the probability of meeting and fixing thin particles of the useful component on small gas bubbles obtained by the electrochemical method increases, the probability of the removal of thin particles of the useful component into the flotation concentrate increases.
Passing the mineral suspension through the cathode chamber of the flowing membrane electrolyzer simultaneously with the formation of the oxygen-water gas-water emulsion in its anode chamber allows the process to be carried out continuously. The simultaneous supply provides a partial oxidation of the surface of sulfides after mixing the mineral suspension with a gas-water emulsion of oxygen-water. The surface in a partially oxidized state is the most sorption active with respect to flotation reagents and, therefore, prepared for the formation of flotation complexes. Selective fixing of the collector reagent increases the thermodynamic probability of the formation of flotation complexes with particles of sulfides and gold. The high probability of meeting fine particles with small bubbles and the high preparedness of the surface of sulfides hydrophobized by a selectively fixed flotation reagent allow the formation of flotation complexes with thin particles of sulfides and gold.
Air supply in the form of bubbles of flotation size into a mineral suspension saturated with small bubbles of hydrogen and oxygen allows the formation of flotation complexes that have sufficient lifting force and are able to quickly bring the mineral load of the useful component to the surface when combined with small mineralized and flotation size of the bubbles. As a result, the rate of transportation of the mineral load to the flotation concentrate increases, and the specific productivity of the flotation machine increases. In general, the extraction of fine particles of sulfides and gold increases, accordingly, the loss of valuable components decreases, and the efficiency of flotation concentration of ores increases.
The method is implemented as follows. A gas-water emulsion “oxygen-water” is preliminarily prepared by passing water through the anode chamber of a flowing membrane electrolyzer. Oxygen bubbles form on the anodes as a result of electrolytic decomposition of water.
At the same time, a mineral suspension containing crushed ore, including sulfide minerals and gold, is saturated with hydrogen bubbles, mainly of a size of 50 microns or less. Saturation is carried out by passing a mineral suspension through the cathode chamber of a flowing membrane electrolyzer. The specified size of the hydrogen bubbles is achieved by changing the transmission rate of the mineral suspension through the cathode chamber of a flowing membrane electrolyzer by hydroabrasive disruption from the surface of the electrodes. Due to the high probability of encountering small hydrogen bubbles and the finest and most hydrophobic particles of sulfides and gold, flotation complexes form in the cathode chamber of a flowing membrane electrolyzer. Then the gas-water emulsion “oxygen-water” is mixed with a mineral suspension saturated with hydrogen bubbles, and the resulting mixture is sent to the chamber of a flotation machine, where it is mixed to prevent settling of mineral particles. When the mixture is stirred, the process of partial oxidation and selective sorption of the reagents on the less hydrophobic surface of sulfides, the mineralization of hydrogen and oxygen bubbles by larger particles of the useful component. Flotation is carried out by passing through it air bubbles of ordinary flotation size 0.6 ÷ 1.2 mm Bubbles of air of conventional flotation size are obtained by known methods: passing through perforated devices or crushing air by mechanical devices. As a result of coalescence of small mineralized oxygen and hydrogen bubbles and bubbles of ordinary flotation size, flotation complexes with a high ascent rate are obtained, which increases the specific productivity of the flotation machine. The high probability of the formation of flotation complexes from thin hydrophobized particles of sulfides and gold, the high speed of their transportation to the flotation concentrate increase the efficiency of enrichment of the useful component. Separation of mineralized vesicles with a useful component is carried out by their ascent to the surface. The foam formed on the surface is a flotation concentrate. The remaining crushed ore is diverted to additional processing or to the tailing dump.
