Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the field of powder metallurgy in the manufacture of powder products, in particular as technical ceramics and refractories.
A known method for producing ceramic material by hot pressing (RF patent No. 1826461 С04В 35/00 from 03/27/99).
The disadvantage of this method is that it does not solve the problem of obtaining fine grain, providing high strength and isotropy of the properties of the finished product. Since hot pressing is carried out in a graphite mold in a closed volume, the particles of the pressed material are sintered to form a rigid frame, which prevents the achievement of maximum density. To obtain maximum density, it is necessary to increase the temperature of hot pressing, which, in turn, leads to a sharp increase in grain.
The closest analogue adopted for the prototype is a method of manufacturing hot-deformed powder materials (RF patent No. 2151025, B22F 3/02 06/20/2000), which includes forming the workpiece, heating and subsequent hot quasi-isobaric compaction. The workpiece is molded, heated and quasi-isobaric hot compaction is carried out in a technological container, and the container is made of a powder composite material based on aluminum oxide and glass by molding.
The disadvantage of this method is that for the implementation of hot sealing of the product, it is necessary to additionally prepare a technological container. In the confined volume of the process container, the powder material will also have limited degrees of freedom to move particles and achieve maximum density.
The problem to which the invention is directed is to develop a method for manufacturing powder products, which will make it possible to make minimal changes to the structure of the initial powder materials, to preserve their fine-grained structure, to ensure high density and strength of the resulting products.
To achieve the specified technical result in a method for manufacturing powder products, including forming a blank of a product from powders and its hot pressing, the authors proposed hot pressing with exposure at the final temperature and pressure to be carried out between two punches, while the side surfaces of the pressed product remain free, and the pressure is applied the workpiece is carried out simultaneously with the start of heating, while the final temperature of hot pressing is 0.3-0.5 of the melt temperature eniya powder material and the temperature and pressure increase rate is carried out simultaneously with, respectively: 60-150 ° C / min and 8.4 MPa / min, in addition, holding at the final temperature and pressure is carried out for 15-30 minutes.
In the proposed method for the manufacture of powder products using ultrafine powders of metal oxides selected from the group of aluminum oxide, zirconium dioxide, magnesium oxide and mixtures thereof. Also, according to the proposed method, it is possible to use powder compacts based on borides (ZrB 2 ), nitrides (Si 3 N 4 , AlN) and pure metals (Mo, W). Ultrafine powders of pure metals, oxides, nitrides, metal borides can be obtained by chemical, plasma-chemical methods, co-precipitation from solutions, and other methods.
The essence of the invention lies in the fact that in order to intensify the sintering processes, it is proposed to apply pressure, the rate of increase of which gradually changes to the maximum value, and the pressure is applied simultaneously with the start of heating. This process is achieved by the corresponding speed of movement of the punches during hot pressing. This will simultaneously activate two processes - an increase in temperature causes an increase in diffusion processes and shrinkage of the material, and an increase in pressure allows the porous skeleton to be formed to be destroyed and thereby ensure a high compaction rate of finished products and obtaining specified sizes. To increase the strength and ensure minimum porosity at the final stage of hot pressing, isothermal exposure for 15-30 minutes is required. This leads to a sharp increase in strength, a decrease in porosity while maintaining the grain size at the level of 0.2-0.3 microns. Hot pressing is carried out in a vacuum or inert gas atmosphere.
The choice of temperature and time of isothermal exposure is due to the fact that when heated below temperature and a short exposure time proposed in this invention does not achieve maximum density and strength with a minimum grain size.
When heated above the proposed temperature, the achievement of maximum density is observed in a shorter time, however, there is a dynamic grain growth, causing a decrease in strength.
The invention is as follows.

The initial ultrafine plasma-chemical powder of zirconia stabilized with yttrium oxide is poured into the mold and pressed at a pressure of 200-300 MPa. Hot pressing in vacuum is carried out in a hot pressing installation. A compressed sample is placed between two graphite punches located in the chamber, and then induction heating is carried out at a rate of 100 ° C / min to a temperature of 1300 ° C. A smooth pressure supply to graphite punches to a maximum value of 100 MPa begins simultaneously with heating, while the speed of movement of the punches is 6 × 10 -3 mm / sec, which corresponds to an increase in pressure at a speed of 7.5 MPa / min. The exposure time at the final temperature of hot pressing is selected from the conditions for obtaining maximum strength, minimum porosity while maintaining the grain size at the level of 0.2-0.3 microns and is 30 minutes. Next, cooling and extraction of the sample.

The initial ultrafine zirconium diboride powder is poured into the mold and the product is pressed at a pressure of 200-300 MPa. Next, the pressed product is placed in a vacuum chamber between two graphite punches. A vacuum is created in the chamber and heated at a rate of 150 ° C / min to a temperature of 1800 ° C. Simultaneously with the heating, pressure is applied, while the speed of movement of the punches is 6.5 × 10 -3 mm / s, which corresponds to an increase in pressure at a speed of 8 MPa / min to a maximum pressure of 100 MPa. Exposure at temperature and pressure of hot pressing is 25 minutes.
