Abstract
Description
The invention relates to metallurgy and, in particular, can be used for processing aluminum or its alloys during refining and modification.
11, 1987)A known method of processing molten aluminum, including blowing fluxes using gases through a tube into molten aluminum (Express information - TSNIIEI TsM, M .: Issue 11, 1987)
The disadvantage of this method is that due to the low energy of the gas stream, the melt is processed in a limited volume, most of the flux is removed from the melt by gas bubbles due to flotation, without reacting with the melt, which leads to an increase in the flux consumption.
Известен способ рафинирования алюминиевых сплавов, заключающийся в прямом вдуве порошкообразного компонента в расплав в смеси с инертным газом посредством газораспределительного устройства («Литейное производство», 2004, №3, с.23).A known method of refining aluminum alloys, which consists in direct injection of the powdered component into the melt mixed with an inert gas by means of a gas distribution device ("Foundry", 2004, No. 3, p.23).
A disadvantage of the known method is that due to the low energy of the carrier gas stream, a significant part of the introduced components floats up, not having time to react with the molten metal.
The closest in essential features is a method of processing an aluminum melt, comprising introducing into the melt containing alloying metals material in gaseous form by means of a transporting or refining gas supplied autonomously (US Patent No. 6217632, C 22 C 1/02, 2001).
For reasons that impede the achievement of the following technical result when using the known method adopted for the prototype, include the fact that to achieve sufficient interaction of the introduced components with the melt, additional mechanical mixing is used. In addition, since the method is proposed to be used at the casting stage, there is the possibility of contamination of the metal being drained due to entrainment of the floating slag in the drain hole of the intermediate tank.
It is known that the efficiency of melt processing with powder flux, suspended and transported in a gas stream, depends on several parameters: the speed of the gas-powder mixture jet, grain size of particles, velocity of the transporting gas, length of the dispersion zone, melt mixing, and processing time. The velocity of the jet of the conveying gas leaving the lance and the length of the dispersion zone depend on the gas pressure in the lance. The number and size of dispersed bubbles - from the diameter of the nozzle. In turn, the speed of the additional gas stream affects the mixing of the mass of molten metal. When refining large masses of the melt, it is necessary to select such parameters of the supplied gas suspension and transporting gas in order to achieve the most complete mixing of the metal bath and, therefore, increase the processing efficiency. In known methods, with increasing pressure of the conveying gas, the aggressiveness of the gas suspension in the purge device increases, which leads to rapid wear of the gas flux mixture supply equipment. This, in turn, leads to an increase in the cost of the processing process.
The task is to eliminate the above disadvantages and is ensured by the autonomous supply of a jet of high-speed neutral gas and gas suspension and the formation directly in the molten metal of a high-speed stream of gas-powder mixture. This will make it possible to increase the pressure of the neutral gas in the tuyere without increasing the pressure of the gas suspension.
The technical result that can be obtained by implementing the processing method according to the invention:
- повышение эффективности процесса рафинирования больших масс расплава металла от водорода, натрия и неметаллических включений и одновременного модифицирования расплава,- increasing the efficiency of the process of refining large masses of a molten metal from hydrogen, sodium and non-metallic inclusions and at the same time modifying the melt,
- снижение расхода флюсовых материалов и в целом себестоимости процесса.- reducing the consumption of flux materials and the overall cost of the process.
The specified technical result in the implementation of the invention is achieved by the fact that in the method of processing aluminum or its alloys, including purging a gas suspension through a lance immersed in a melt of aluminum or its alloys, the feature is that the purging is carried out while a high-speed jet of neutral gas is introduced into the gas supply region directly in the molten aluminum or its alloys. Moreover, the introduction of a gas suspension and a high-speed jet of gas is carried out autonomously through one lance with several holes. As a component of a gas suspension, a flux can be used to refine the molten aluminum or its alloys or modifying compositions in powder state.
Separating the supply of neutral gas and gas suspension allows increasing the gas pressure in the lance by reducing the diameter of the gas supply nozzles and to obtain high-speed gas jets at the outlet of the nozzle. The pressure of the gas suspension is at a level sufficient to maintain the flow of particles in a fluidized state.
The introduction of a neutral gas into the gas suspension stream directly in the molten metal ensures: 1) the formation of a high-speed particle stream due to the entrainment of the gas suspension by a high-speed stream of neutral gas; 2) additional spraying of the gas-powder mixture into the smallest particles, as a result of which they interact actively with the components of the alloy, which helps to increase the processing efficiency of aluminum or its alloys; 3) due to high-speed purging, intensive mixing of large masses of metal melt occurs.
When processing a melt of aluminum or its alloys with fluxes due to the high energy of the gas stream, there is an active interaction of refining components with alloy components, which leads to an increase in the assimilation of fluxes and a decrease in the formation of slag. Moreover, in the slag there is a decrease in the content of aluminum oxide and an increase in the content of pure aluminum.
Comparison of the invention shows that the inventive method for processing aluminum or its alloys differs from the prototype in that the melt is blown with a gas suspension while simultaneously introducing a high-speed jet of neutral gas directly into the melt of aluminum or its alloys into the gas supply region. Moreover, the introduction of high-speed gas into the melt is carried out autonomously through a gas suspension lance, as a component of which a flux can be used to refine the aluminum melt or its alloys or modifying compositions in powder state.
The method of processing aluminum or its alloys is as follows.
Before the processing process, a gas suspension containing flux is fed into the lance and the lance is immersed in the melt. An inert gas is then fed into the lance at an initial pressure. After the melt is purged with a gas suspension, the inert gas pressure in the tuyere is increased to a value sufficient to obtain a high-speed stream at the nozzle exit, while the gas suspension is entrained in the melt at a high speed. The resulting high-speed mixture of flux and gases is dispersed into tiny particles and bubbles, which contribute to the active mixing of large masses of the melt, the refining of metal from hydrogen, sodium and non-metallic inclusions and the simultaneous modification due to the active interaction of flux particles with alloy components. The processing time is established empirically, depending on the mass of the melt, the requirements for the alloy.
ПримерExample
50-70%.Refining was carried out on alloys AD33 (6061) and VD1 according to the known method and the claimed method. Argon was used as the gas. The inert gas pressure in the lance was set at 1050 kPa. The results of experimental refining checks are summarized in table 1. Experimental checks showed that when using the known method, the content of aluminum oxide in the slag remains at the level of 27-34%, and the content of pure aluminum in the slag is at the level of 40-60%, while when using of the proposed method, the content of aluminum oxide in the slag is reduced to the level of 11-29%, and the content of pure aluminum is increased to 50-70%.
Thus, the use of the proposed method can significantly improve the processing efficiency of the molten aluminum or its alloys with powder fluxes in comparison with traditional methods, reduce the consumption of flux materials. In addition, the use of the proposed method leads to an increase in the resistance of the lining due to the almost complete absence of interaction of flux materials with it (since the flux is sprayed in the melt into the smallest particles that instantly interact with metal components and gases), and an increase in the metallurgical yield during melting scrap and waste by reducing slag formation, reducing costs to ensure the reliability and safety of molten aluminum processing processes.
