Description
The utility model relates to the oil industry and can be used for coupling joints of thermally insulated pipes used to inject high-temperature coolant into the formation, in particular when extracting high-viscosity products by the thermal method.
An insulating insert as part of a thermally insulated pipe is known (RF patent No. 121894, F16L 59/00, publ. November 10, 2012), consisting of an outer polymer and inner metal bushings. The outer polymer bushing is made of a solid material and is made with alternating U-shaped annular grooves on the outer and inner cylindrical surfaces. The inner metal sleeve is divided into two mating parts with outer collars that can move relative to each other in the axial direction.
The disadvantage of this insert is that it cannot be used for pumping high-temperature media due to deformation of structural elements and changes in the properties of the polymer bushing at temperatures above 350°C.
An insulating insert as part of a thermally insulated pipe is known (RF patent No. 2242667, F16L 59/06, published on December 20, 2004), adopted as a prototype, which consists of an outer plastic and inner metal bushing. The outer plastic sleeve consists of two elements that form an interference fit with each other, and the inner metal sleeve is divided into two parts, interconnected by a persistent threaded connection made at the end in the form of a collet, while the inner sleeve can be made of stainless steel or can be coated on the inside and outside with an anti-corrosion heat-insulating layer.
The insulating insert does not provide full compensation of the gaps between the pipes and the parts of the insulating insert along all contact surfaces during periodic pumping of high-temperature media, which does not allow the use of thermally insulated pipes for pumping high-temperature media in this mode. In addition, the disadvantage is the complexity of manufacturing due to the large number of structural elements of the insulating insert parts, and the presence of plastic elements in the structure limits the operating temperature of the insulating insert (no more than 350°C) due to changes in the properties and deformation of the structural elements.
The technical problem is to create a design for an insulating insert used in the coupling connection of thermally insulated pipes for pumping high-temperature media with temperatures above 350°C, reducing heat losses, protecting against the penetration of high-temperature media to the inner surface of the coupling and the space under the coupling, and increasing the operational reliability of the insulating insert and thermally insulated pipes
The technical result consists in increasing the service life of the insulating insert when pumping high-temperature media with a temperature of more than 350°C by reducing heat losses.
This technical result is achieved due to the fact that the insulating insert for a heat-insulated pipe consists of two mating elements. According to the utility model, the insert elements are installed with the ability to move in the axial direction using a compression spring, while the insert is made of a material resistant to high temperatures with a low thermal conductivity coefficient.
In a particular case, the insert elements are made of a material with a gradient structure, while the thickness of the insert has a cellular structure.
In a particular case, the end sections of the insert are made of a conical shape.
The utility model is illustrated by drawings, where in Fig. 1a schematically shows an insulating insert for heat-insulated pipes during assembly; Fig. 1, b - with the arrangement of the insert elements in the working position, in Fig. 2a shows a thermogram of the temperature distribution over the surface of the insert made of calcium silicate and in Fig. 2b - thermogram of temperature distribution over the surface of the insert made of stainless steel.
The insulating insert for a heat-insulated pipe consists of elements 1 and 2 and a compression spring 3. In this case, elements 1 and 2 are made tightly mating along the male and female cylindrical surfaces, and are able to move relative to each other in the axial direction. Compression spring 3 is installed coaxially between the insert elements.
By making insert elements 1 and 2 capable of moving in the axial direction using a compression spring 3 in the operating position, when the spring is compressed, a tight fit of the contact surfaces of the insulating insert to the mating surfaces of the heat-insulated pipes and a reduction in heat losses is ensured.
The mating of the insert elements is made using a compression spring to compensate for tolerances and deviations in the dimensions of the pipes being joined and ensures a tight fit of the corresponding contact surfaces of the insert and the thermally insulated pipes.
This design of the insulating insert allows the use of high-temperature resistant materials with a low thermal conductivity coefficient, for example, ceramic, metal, composite, etc., as the material of the insert, and also allows compensation for the manufacturing tolerance of the connected elements of thermally insulated pipes.
Making the insert from a material resistant to high temperatures with a low coefficient of thermal conductivity increases operational reliability and service life when pumping high-temperature media with a temperature of more than 350°C by providing protection against the penetration of high-temperature media to the inner surface of the coupling and the space under the coupling and reducing heat losses.
When the insert elements are made from a material with a gradient structure, which has a cellular structure in thickness, it is additionally ensured that the overall thermal conductivity of the insert is reduced and it becomes possible to use materials with a high thermal conductivity coefficient, such as stainless steel.
And making the end sections of the insert conical in shape, tightly mating with the mating surfaces of the heat-insulated pipes, increases the contact area, which increases the reliability of protection against the penetration of high-temperature media to the inner surface of the coupling and the space under the coupling and reduces heat losses.
Inserts made from various high-temperature-resistant materials with low thermal conductivity, such as calcium silicate and stainless steel with a gradient structure, have been tested under industrial conditions. Using selective laser sintering of metal powder, insert elements with a hard surface layer and an internal cellular structure were manufactured.
To assemble the coupling connection of thermally insulated pipes, internal pipes with a diameter of 73.02 mm with a wall thickness of 5.51 mm, external pipes with a diameter of 114.3 mm with a wall thickness of 6.88 mm and insulating inserts of the proposed design were used. The assembly of the coupling connection of thermally insulated pipes was carried out using mating elements of the insert using a compression spring made with preloaded and ground support turns with a diameter of 5.5 mm with a rigidity of up to 0.55 kg/mm.
After assembling the pipes on the test bench, an electric heater was installed inside the connection of thermally insulated pipes, which maintained the temperature of the inner wall of the pipes at 425 ± 3 ° C and then at 450 ± 5 ° C. The surface temperature was measured with a Hikmicro G60 hand-held thermal imager, and before the measurement, the surface was kept at the set temperatures for two hours.
When testing a calcium silicate insert, the temperature outside the coupling was 88°C at a temperature inside the pipe of 450°C. When testing a stainless steel insert, the temperature outside the coupling was 86°C at a temperature inside the pipe of 425°C.
Subsequent disassembly of the connection of thermally insulated pipes showed that the insert with elements made of stainless steel and the insert with elements made of calcium silicate during operation withstood a temperature of the pumped medium of more than 350°C. At the same time, after the experiment, no damage or defects were detected on the elements of the insert made of stainless steel, while the elements of the insert made of calcium silicate were characterized by lower operational reliability due to partial destruction.
The use of the proposed design of an insulating insert made of a material resistant to high temperatures with a low coefficient of thermal conductivity ensures a tight fit of the contact surfaces of the insulating insert to the corresponding surfaces of thermally insulated pipes, which increases the service life and operational reliability of the insert when pumping high-temperature media with temperatures above 350°C and allows pumping fluids with preservation of the properties, shape and characteristics of the materials of the insert elements and minimal heat loss during the injection of coolant into the formation.
