Abstract
Description
The invention relates to mechanical engineering, to space technology and can be used to create traction on an aircraft.
Known electric arc engine, consisting of a chamber with electrodes located in it, connected to a source of electricity, and a jet nozzle (Space engines: state and prospects. Edited by L. Kavni. M.: Mir, 1988, p.193, Fig.2.10 b) The heating of the working fluid occurs due to the flow of electric current through it. The disadvantage of this device is the limitation on the magnitude of the specific impulse and low efficiency, due to losses on the ionization of the working fluid and heat losses of the high-temperature plasma in the structural elements of the engine.
Known liquid propellant small thrust engine (LRE) Rb-6, consisting of a cylindrical body in which a hollow sleeve made of heat-resistant material; located on the housing of the mixing head, forming with the internal cavity of the sleeve the cavity of the combustion chamber and the jet nozzle (ibid., p. 154). The engine uses a fuel pair of N 2 , O 4 and monomethyl hydrazine, develops a thrust of about 2 N and has a specific impulse of ~ 1860 m / s in pulsed mode. The disadvantage of the engine is the relatively low efficiency.
The closest in technical essence to the claimed invention should be considered liquid fuel-oil engine operating on liquid chemical fuel, consisting of a cylindrical body in which a hollow sleeve is installed, made of a composite of heat-resistant dielectric material and having two ring grooves in which ring electrodes of heat-resistant material are installed, the inner diameter of which is equal to the inner diameter of the sleeve and connected to the corresponding conductors located in the outer longitudinal grooves of the sleeve lined from the housing, the electrodes are removed from the housing and connected to an electric energy source, and a mixing head located on the housing and forming the cavity of the combustion chamber and the jet nozzle with the internal cavity of the sleeve (application RU 99123125 A, IPC F 02 K 3/10, 2001) .
The self-igniting components of rocket fuels under excessive pressure are fed into the engine chamber through pipelines from the tanks through valves and nozzles in the mixing head. In the chamber, the components mix and burn. The combustion products heat up and flow out through the jet nozzle, creating traction. When electrodes are connected to an external source of electrical energy, the combustion products are ionized, and an arc discharge is formed and maintained. The additional energy supplied to the combustion products leads to an increase in the temperature of the working fluid and the specific impulse of the engine.
А.Ф. 213, 214). Control signals for opening valves and connecting an external power source are generated in the control system. The time to reach the steady state engine operation can be several seconds, which is determined by the valve opening time and the delay time of ignition of liquid fuel (Fundamentals of the theory of design and operation of power and propulsion systems of spacecraft with non-nuclear energy sources. Edited by Prof. S.V. Timashev St. Petersburg: VIKKI named after A.F. Mozhaysky, 1992, p. 213, 214).
The disadvantage of this liquid propellant rocket engine is the insufficiently efficient use of energy from an external source of electric energy and a decrease in the life of the engine. This is because the power of the power source is calculated on the steady-state mode of operation of the engine for ionization of the combustion products, the formation and maintenance of the arc discharge.
When the engine enters the mode, part of the electric power will be lost on additional heating and erosion of the electrodes.
The aim of the invention is to increase the efficiency and resource of the engine due to the synchronization of the supply of additional electricity from a separate source with the moment the engine enters steady state.
This goal is achieved by the fact that the liquid fuel oil engine running on liquid chemical fuel, consisting of a cylindrical body, in which a hollow sleeve is installed made of a composite of heat-resistant dielectric material and having two ring grooves in which ring electrodes of heat-resistant material are installed, the inner diameter of which is equal to the inner diameter of the sleeve and connected to the corresponding conductors located in the outer longitudinal grooves of the sleeve electrically insulated from the housing, the electrodes are removed from the housing mustache and connected to a source of electrical energy; and a mixing head located on the housing and forming with the internal cavity of the sleeve the cavity of the combustion chamber and the jet nozzle, further comprises a program-temporary device (PVU) connecting the source of electrical energy with current leads connected to the control system of the liquid propellant rocket engine.
The invention is illustrated by the diagram shown in the drawing.
The device comprises a propulsion device 1, combining a cylindrical body into which a hollow sleeve is installed, made of heat-resistant dielectric material and having two ring grooves, in which ring electrodes are made of heat-resistant material, the inner diameter of which is equal to the inner diameter of the sleeve and connected to the corresponding current leads 2, located in the outer longitudinal grooves of the sleeve electrically insulated from the housing, and a mixing head located on the housing and forming with an inner awn sleeve cavity combustion chamber and the nozzle, the programmable time device 3 connecting a source of electrical energy with 4 tokovodami 2 associated with the control system (not shown) small thrust jet engine.
The device operates as follows.
During the developmental tests of the liquid propellant rocket engine, the time to reach the steady-state operating mode of the propulsion device 1 is determined. The PVU 3 is set to this time, which corresponds to the time delay of connecting the electric power source 4 to the current leads 2 from the moment the control system sends a command to launch the liquid propellant rocket engine.
ΔЭ = P•τв•nдв•nвк,
где Р - электрическая мощность, подводимая к ЖРДМТ;
τв - время выхода движителя на установившийся режим;
nдв - число двигателей, работающих одновременно;
When using the device as part of an aircraft, upon the command of the control system to launch the liquid propellant rocket engine, the self-igniting components of rocket fuels are supplied under pressure to the engine chamber through pipelines from the tanks through valves and nozzles in the mixing head. In the chamber, the components mix and burn. The combustion products are heated and expire through the jet nozzle of the propulsion device 1, creating traction. After the time for reaching the steady-state operating mode of the propulsion device 1, the PVD 3 connects the current leads 2 to an external source of electrical energy 4, which ensures ionization of the combustion products, the formation and maintenance of the arc discharge only in the design mode of operation and eliminates the loss of electrical energy at the initial stage of operation of the propulsion device 1 and erosion of electrodes. The engine is turned off at the command of the control system by closing the rocket fuel component supply valves and simultaneously disconnecting the electric energy source 4 from the current leads 2 using the PFC 3. After the propulsion unit 1 is turned off, the PFC 3 is automatically reset for the next start of the liquid propellant rocket engine. The saving of electric energy supplied to the liquid propellant rocket engine over the entire period of operation of the aircraft can be determined by the formula:
ΔE = P • τ in • n dv • n vk ,
where P is the electric power supplied to the liquid propellant rocket engine;
τ in - the time of the propulsion output to the steady state;
n dv is the number of engines operating simultaneously;
n VK - the number of turns of liquid propellant rocket engine for the entire time of operation.
In the case of using the proposed device as part of an integrated propulsion system (Design of automatic spacecraft. Edited by D. I. Kozlov. M.: Mechanical Engineering, 1996, p. 423-428) with the power supplied to the engine, 1000 W, exit time to the steady-state operating mode of the propulsion system, 0.01 s, with the number of starts 100000, the saving of electric energy supplied to 4 liquid-propellant rocket engines over the entire life of the spacecraft will be 1.1 kW • h.
