Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the field of non-ferrous metallurgy, and in particular to aluminum-based alloys of the aluminum-copper-magnesium-lithium system. Semi-finished products from these alloys are used as structural materials for aerospace engineering in the form of casing and power set.
Known structural deformable alloys of this system (USSR author's certificate 1356498 MKI C 22 C 21/18, Bulletin of inventions 11, 1992, French patent 2561260, MKI C 22 C 21/12), However, these alloys, having a reduced density and acceptable mechanical properties for single and repeated loading, have a low ability to deform during the manufacture of bent profiles. This characteristic is decisive in the production of a number of aerospace engineering products.

The closest in chemical composition and purpose, adopted as a prototype, is an alloy based on aluminum of the aluminum-copper-magnesium-lithium system of the following chemical composition, wt.%:

The technical task of this invention is the creation of an alloy that, along with high strength properties (tensile strength and yield strength), has high technological ductility during cold deformation of sheets, which allows to obtain high-quality products with less labor.

An increase in technological plasticity as an important characteristic ensuring the production of sheet products is achieved by additional alloying with gallium and hydrogen, as well as by adding at least one element from the group: zinc, antimony, and sodium.
The presence of hydrogen, which causes the formation of hydrides, reduces the localization of deformation along slip lines. This reduces the likelihood of cracks in the coarse slip bands and improves manufacturability. Gallium concentrates on grain boundaries, contributes to grain boundary deformation. The low-melting elements — zinc, antimony, and sodium — also facilitate shear deformation along grain boundaries, especially with increasing temperature accompanying the deformation. At the same time, the deformation ability of the alloy is improved and the process ductility is increased.
An example implementation.
65-70o.In laboratory conditions, 4 alloy ingots were cast. From ingots, by pressing a strip and subsequent hot and cold rolling, sheets with a thickness of 1.5 mm were obtained. Pressing was carried out at 430 o C, and hot rolling at 440-450 o C. The sheets were cut into blanks, which were quenched from a temperature of 530 o C in water. From these blanks, bent trough-like profiles 20 mm high were obtained by the method of tight bending at room temperature. The bending angle was 65-70 o .
The profiles were formed on a bending mill with two pairs of rollers in one transition.
The main factor determining the stiffness of the obtained profile, and therefore the efficiency of the bending process, is the largest possible thickening of the material, measured by the bisector of the angle of the bend zone. It is equal to the ratio of the sheet thickness after shaping to the original sheet thickness. The higher it is, the greater the technological plasticity of the alloy.
The magnitude of the thickening was measured using a microscope on transverse microsections. Table 1 presents the chemical compositions of the proposed alloy and prototype, in table 2 - data on the mechanical and technological properties of the proposed alloy and prototype.
The results show that the proposed alloy in comparison with the known alloy has almost the same tensile strength and elongation. However, in technological plasticity, determined by the magnitude of the thickening of the material, it has a superiority of ~ 30%.
Thus, the use of the proposed alloy, for example, for the production of bent profiles, stringers and other parts from sheets provides an increase in their rigidity, which in turn will increase the structural strength and reliability of the products, including aerospace engineering.
