The invention relates to the field of glass-ceramic materials, i.e. polycrystalline solids used in various fields of technology and having high strength and performance characteristics, as well as the creation of structures for protection against impact and abrasion.
Glass ceramics, obtained as a result of controlled catalyzed crystallization of glass of a certain chemical composition, can be used as a structural material in the manufacture of products operating under extreme loads in mechanical engineering, light, food, textile, chemical and other industries.
У. 164).Known high-strength glass ceramics lithium aluminosilicate system with a tensile strength of 28.1 kg / mm 2 . It contains the following ingredients (wt.%): SiO 2 78.5; K 2 O 2.5; P 2 O 5 3.0; Li 2 O 12.2. The temperature coefficient of expansion is 10.2 • 10 -6 deg -1 (Macmillan P.U. Glass-ceramic. M., 1967, p. 164).
10,0.Known high-strength glass-ceramic material, resistant to thermal shock, having low porosity and high electrical resistance, which includes the following ingredients (wt.%): SiO 2 34.0 - 81.0; Li 2 O 2.0 - 27.0; K 2 O / Na 2 O up to 5.0; CaO and BaO up to 5.0; B 2 O 3 to 10.0; ZnO 10.0-59.0; MgO up to 10.0; PbO up to 5.0; Al 2 O 3 to 10.0.
Они нерегулярны по размерам, плотно упакованы, вследствие чего материал имеет высокую плотность (3,13 - 3,23 г/см3) и прочностью на изгиб в пределах 15 - 20 кг/мм2, коэффициент термического расширения (42 - 174)•10-7 град-1 (патент Великобритании N 943599, 1963 г.).The method of obtaining the material consists in glass melting at a temperature of 1200 - 1400 o C, molding, annealing at a temperature of 450 - 550 o C followed by crystallization of the glass in a single-stage mode: raising the temperature to 800 - 1000 o C at a speed of 4 - 5 o C per minute for one hour. The size of the crystals in glass ceramics after cooling is 0.1 - 6.0 microns. They are irregular in size, densely packed, as a result of which the material has a high density (3.13 - 3.23 g / cm 3 ) and bending strength in the range of 15 - 20 kg / mm 2 , thermal expansion coefficient (42 - 174) • 10 -7 deg -1 (UK patent N 943599, 1963).
The closest in technical essence to the claimed invention is the composition of glass ceramics and the method for its preparation according to US patent N4473653, C 03 C 3/22, 1984
The specified composition contains the following ingredients (wt.%): SiO 2 78.5 - 84.5; Li 2 O 9.5-15.0; K 2 O 1.5 - 4.0; Al 2 O 3 1.0 - 6.0 (base glass), additionally (in excess of 100%) Na 2 O 0 - 3.5 is added; B 2 O 3 1/2; CeO 2 0-1.5; Cr 2 O 3 0 - 0.09; Al 2 O 3 can be replaced by MgO (up to 50% in the base composition) and TiO 2 , ZnO 2 and SuO 2 in the amount of 5% of the base glass composition can be introduced.
Габаритные размеры испытуемой пластины 4х4 дюйма (98х98 мм), толщина 0,5 дюйма (12,7 мм).The method of producing glass ceramics consists in boiling glass at a temperature of 1550 ± 20 o C, molding, annealing at a temperature of 480 - 530 o C for 1 to 24 hours and cooling the resulting workpieces to room temperature. Then follows a two-stage crystallization: heating to 680 - 725 o C at a rate of 0.3 - 0.1 o C / min; holding at this temperature for 1 to 24 hours; heating to 830 - 870 o C at a speed of 0.5 - 6 o C / min, holding at this temperature from 5 minutes to 5 hours. After the second stage of crystallization and holding at a temperature of 830 - 870 o C, the samples are cooled to 380 - 300 o C at a speed of 0.5 - 3 o C / min, then to room temperature at a speed of 2 - 12 o C / min. The result is glass ceramics in which the main crystalline phases are lithium disilicate, cristobalite and spinel. Thermal expansion coefficient TCR 100 - 125 • 10 -7 o C -1 (at 800 o C), density 2.45 - 2.50 g / cm 3 . The specified glass ceramics in the form of thin (up to 12 mm) plates cannot be used as protective elements against bullets with armor-piercing and heat-strengthened cores used in modern small arms, since they do not have the strength necessary for this. A plate made of such glass-ceramic was tested only with a soft lead bullet in a copper shell fired from a distance of 1.5 meters (5 feet), that is, in an unsteady flight mode. The caliber of a typical army weapon is 7.62 mm (0.30 in), the speed of a bullet is about 760 m / s (2500 ft / s). Overall dimensions of the test plate 4x4 inches (98x98 mm), thickness 0.5 inches (12.7 mm).
The production of such glass ceramics requires expensive refractories and high energy consumption, since glass is melted at a temperature of 1550 o ± 20 o C. Glass ceramics contains expensive and high-melting components CeO 2 , TiO 2 , ZrO 2 , SnO 2 , V 2 O 5 that determines not only the high (1550 o C) cooking temperature, but also the high (830 - 870 o C) temperature of the second stage of crystallization.
27.07.98). Known bulletproof flexible design containing protective elements located in the form of parts made of solid material, with a reflective shell facing outward, with overlapping gaps between the elements in the layer by subsequent layers of protective elements. The technical result of the known design is the implementation of directional changes in the trajectory of the bullet (RU, patent N 2116607, class F 41
However, when the bullet deviates from normal (that is, from perpendicular to the surface), the acting object (bullet) at an angle will freely pass between the protective plates. The known design, with its flexibility, is not repairable, voluminous, applicable only in one direction of impact of an object (bullet), is not convenient in operation, and cannot be used to protect against abrasive wear.
Known for a flexible element of a protective bag and a protective bag of flexible elements containing a substrate of fabric from aramid fibers, a layer of abrasive particles supported by a polymer adhesive binder, and a cover layer of elastic material deposited on the substrate. In this case, a binder is applied to the substrate fabric with partial penetration into it and the formation of a layer - a fixative of abrasive particles. External insulation is provided by a coating layer. Elastic adhesive compositions are used as the polymer binder layer — the fixative and the elastic material of the coating layer, and the adhesive composition of the elastic material of the coating layer is made to have a higher degree of elasticity compared to the fixative layer. The protective bag contains flexible elements stacked on top of each other, with each subsequent element being laid by the fabric of its substrate on the cover layer of the previous one to form the front side of the package from the cover layer of the last element (RU, patent N 2156942, F 41
The known protective package of flexible elements cannot be applied to protect against high-speed armor-piercing and heat-strengthened bullets without a significant increase in the number of layers and, consequently, the thickness, weight and cost of the entire structure. For its manufacture, expensive fabrics from aramid fibers are used, which lose a significant part (up to 20%) of their strength under prolonged exposure to light radiation and getting wet. This design cannot be used as a material for protection against abrasive wear and is not repairable after breaking through.
The design contains a matrix having a honeycomb geometry made of a viscoelastic material, its through holes are filled with a filler hydrodynamically equivalent to an incompressible fluid. The hole depth is selected within 50 - 80% of the thickness of the power element. As a filler, plastic and ceramic capsules with water, oil, various technical fluids, light metal alloys, ceramic tablets and plastics with ceramic additives are used.

1. Конструкция работает в качестве защитной только при обращенной лицевой стороны материала в сторону направления выстрела (удара).The specified power element has a number of significant disadvantages:

A method of producing glass ceramics consists of the following operations.
1250 - 1350oC.1. In the first stage carry out the cooking of lithium silicate glass at a temperature of 1250 - 1350 o C.

330 - 420oC.3. Annealing of the workpieces at a temperature of 330 - 420 o C.

4. Crystallization (that is, the transformation of glass into glass ceramics) according to a three-stage mode:
- temperature rise to 480 - 520 o C,
- rise in temperature to 580 - 620 o C, exposure 0.5 to 10 hours;

5. Cooling to room temperature at a rate of 5 - 10 o C / min.
The main crystalline phases of the inventive glass ceramics is lithium disilicate and a variety of silica. The crystal size (0.25 - 0.4 μm) and these crystalline phases provide uniform crystallization together with the use of phosphates and fluorides as catalysts. The absence of Al 2 O 3 in the initial glass excludes the formation of such a crystalline phase as eucryptite Li 2 O • Al 2 O 3 • 3SiO 2 , which significantly increases the strength of glass ceramics.
Glass manufacturing technologies make it possible to obtain glass-ceramic products in the form of plates, disks, spheres, tubes, drills, racks, rods, etc., depending on the purpose and do not require special equipment, high temperatures and pressure.
Compared with the prototype, cooking, annealing and crystallization are carried out at significantly lower temperatures, and heat treatment after annealing is carried out in a three-stage mode with the aim of forming a uniform, tightly packed and durable glass-ceramic structure.

The flexibility of this design is ensured by the presence of an elastic adhesive binder in the gaps between the protective glass-ceramic elements and the matrix. The non-penetration at the joints between the elements is ensured by the overlapping of the elements of each other with shoulders and ledges at a distance greater than half their thickness. After the protective element is broken upon impact, it can easily be replaced by another one, similar in shape and size, after removing the fragments. Such a design can be fixed by any of the known methods (mechanically, by glue or otherwise) to a surface requiring protection: car body, airplane body, ship, conveyor tray, hopper of a screw loading and unloading device, etc. In case of destruction of the glass-ceramic element (s), replacement one (one) on the other is not very difficult and does not require special equipment and skills. The overall dimensions of such a protective structure are practically unlimited, and in the form of a flexible cloth, tape, carpet or slabs, it can be used to protect nuclear reactors, pipelines, buildings, bank vaults and the like.
The components of the mixture containing oxides of lithium, potassium, manganese, zinc, sodium phosphate, calcium fluorides and lithium and silica sand were mixed. The mixture was poured into a crucible, the initial glass was melted at a temperature of 1250 - 1300 o C for 2 hours without stirring. The melt was cast into a metal mold. The obtained square plates with a thickness of 8, 10, 12 mm with flanges and ledges were annealed at a temperature of 400 - 420 o C (see table).
Crystallization Mode:
First stage: 500 o
Second stage: 600 o C exposure 6 hours
Third degree: 700 o C exposure of 1.5 hours
The temperature was raised at a rate of 4 o C / min. This was followed by cooling to room temperature at a rate of 10 ° C./min.
- плотность 2,36 - 2,46 г/см3;
- прочность на изгиб (предел) 35 - 45 кг/мм2;
- коэффициент термического расширения 100 - 120•10-7 град-1;
- относительная твердость 8 - 9 единиц по Моосу;
1 - 1,5%.Glass ceramic obtained in this way has the following characteristics:
- density 2.36 - 2.46 g / cm 3 ;
- bending strength (limit) 35 - 45 kg / mm 2 ;
- coefficient of thermal expansion 100 - 120 • 10 -7 deg -1 ;
- relative hardness of 8 to 9 units in Mohs;
- shrinkage during crystallization of 1 - 1.5%.
Then, the glass-ceramic elements were assembled into an end-to-end honeycomb structure made of steel tape with a thickness of 0.2 and a width of 4 mm (Fig. 1) using the adhesive composition KLM-1 based on synthetic rubbers. After the adhesive composition was cured, a flexible protective structure was glued onto the convex radial surface of an 8 mm thick plate made of layers of high-modulus TSVM-D fabric impregnated with an elastic binder when pressed.
- толщина пластины 7,5 мм - пули из автомата АКМ калибра 7,62 мм в стальной оболочке с мягким стальным сердечником, скорость 730 м/сек;
- толщина пластины 10 мм - пули из автомата АКМ калибра 7,62 мм в стальной оболочке с термоупрочненным сердечником, скорость 730 м/сек;
Ballistic tests showed that when firing from a distance of 5 meters, the inventive glass ceramic provides non-penetration:
- plate thickness 7.5 mm - bullets from an AKM assault rifle of caliber 7.62 mm in a steel shell with a soft steel core, speed 730 m / s;
- plate thickness 10 mm - bullets from an AKM assault rifle of caliber 7.62 mm in a steel shell with a heat-strengthened core, speed 730 m / s;
- plate thickness 12 mm - bullets from an SVD sniper rifle of caliber 7.62 mm in a steel shell with a heat-strengthened core, speed 860 m / s.
Thus, the proposed objects make it possible to obtain material (glass ceramics) that allows replacing expensive ceramics such as boron carbide on a large scale, using all the advantages of glass technologies: low temperature cooking, melt molding, pressing at low pressures, blowing, stretching. Based on such glass ceramics (glass) without large material costs, it is possible to organize serial production of flexible and rigid maintainable protective structures for the operational reservation of equipment (cars, helicopters, ships, structures, etc.) and the manufacture of personal protective equipment for people from firearms and cold steel. Such protective structures with honeycomb geometry can be used as a lining coating of the working volume of mechanisms subject to strong abrasive wear - conveyor trays, bunkers, etc. in construction, metallurgy and mining.
