Abstract
Description
The invention relates to rocket and space technology and can be used to ensure the operation of a propulsion system using liquid fuel during the descent of a spacecraft (SC) to Earth or another planet with an atmosphere.
In propulsion systems of a number of spacecraft (for example, Soyuz spacecraft launch vehicles), one-component liquid fuel is used - hydrogen peroxide, a substance prone to self-decomposition during storage under normal temperature conditions (above 0 o C) with the release of gaseous oxygen. The passage through the switched on engines of gaseous oxygen generated in the liquid cavity of the tank, limited by the separation shell, leads to a sharp decrease in engine thrust. Simultaneous passage of a certain amount of gas through the engines can lead to a breakdown in the dynamic control modes of the launched spacecraft. In order to eliminate the disruption of dynamic modes in the descent control process, it is necessary to limit the duration of the flight of the ship. Degassing of fuel in the tanks of the propulsion system of the launching spacecraft allows, without changing the design, to eliminate the reduction in thrust during the operation of the engines due to the ingress of gas inclusions at their entrance, and thus increase the duration of the spacecraft flight.
A known method of degassing liquid fuel in the tank of a propulsion system of a spacecraft, including a message to the acceleration fuel, a time delay for the separation of gas bubbles [1]. The disadvantage of this method is that the separated gas of the liquid cavity of the tank is not removed, as a result of which, when the engine is running, conditions are possible (for example, at the end of fuel production) for gas to enter the engine.
There is a method of degassing liquid fuel in the tank of a propulsion system, including communicating with the acceleration fuel, a time delay for separating gas bubbles and discharging the separated gas outside the spacecraft through a special device (valve) [2]. The message to the acceleration fuel is provided artificially: by installing auxiliary engines or by rotating the fuel tank. This method is adopted as a prototype.
However, when implementing this method, a number of obstacles arise associated with the creation of artificial acceleration of fuel: the complexity of the propulsion system and the spacecraft as a whole, an increase in size and weight, and a decrease in reliability. In addition, when the gas is discharged outside the spacecraft, the problem of parrying additional disturbing moments arises, and the organization of the momentless gas discharge further complicates the design of the spacecraft.
The objective of the invention is to provide a cheap and reliable method of degassing liquid fuel in the tank of a propulsion system of a spacecraft.
The problem is solved due to the fact that in the method of degassing liquid fuel in the tank of a propulsion system of a spacecraft (SC), including communicating with the acceleration fuel, the time delay for separating gas bubbles and the discharge of the separated gas outside the SC, use the overload that occurs during descent at the beginning aerodynamic drag of the spacecraft in the atmosphere of the planet, while the spacecraft is oriented so that the direction of the main vector of the aerodynamic force acting on the spacecraft coincides with the direction from the liquid cavity of the tank and to the intake along the axis of the intake, and the gas is discharged through the control engines of the same engine installation, creating the same moments in opposite directions during the indicated orientation for a period of time, defined as the ratio of the mass of gas in the liquid cavity of the tank to the total gas flow through Engaged control motors.

14. In storage mode (during the spacecraft’s orbital flight), the boost gas is in the cylinder 1 (Fig. 1), the fuel is in the fuel tank 4. In the gas cavity of the
10-13. Before launching the spacecraft, a command is issued to open the start valves 2, 9 and the tank is pressurized from the cylinder 1 through the pressure reducer 3 and the fuel lines are filled from the tank intake 8 to the control engines 10-13.
As the spacecraft enters the planet’s atmosphere, the overload arising from its aerodynamic deceleration increases. Control engines 10-13 installed in pairs on each control channel and creating identical moments in each pair in mutually opposite directions are turned on to build the spacecraft orientation and stabilize it in the required position under the action of disturbing aerodynamic moments. If a certain critical level of overload is exceeded, the spacecraft control via the roll channel engages in addition to the main set of engines an additional set as well.
V. Consider the motion of the
3).The presence of overload acting on the
tс = 1,414(L/n)0,5 [1 + 0,716(L/(r(1- ρг/ρж ))0,5],
The quality of separation is characterized by the size of the unseparated bubbles and depends on the magnitude of the overload and the duration of its action. If we neglect the mass of fuel in comparison with the mass of the descent vehicle (usually does not exceed 5%), then based on formula (13.22) [3], we obtain the dependence for the time of separation of bubbles
t c = 1.414 (L / n) 0.5 [1 + 0.716 (L / (r (1- ρ g / ρ l )) 0.5 ],
where L is the length of the tank
n - acceleration (overload),
r is the radius of the bubble,
ρ g , ρ W - the density of gas and liquid, respectively.
The obtained dependence allows us to assert that over time t with the action of an overload of magnitude not less than n, all bubbles in the tank will be separated, whose radius is not less than r. The higher the level of congestion, the shorter the separation time for bubbles of a given size. The maximum radius of the unseparated bubbles is chosen so that when passing through the engines the characteristics of the latter remain within the specified limits. Typically, the maximum radius of unseparated bubbles is of the order of the radius of the engine nozzles.
The method is implemented as follows.
(10-13).Before launching apparatus defined amount of gas in the fluid-tank, for example, the operating time of pressure increase in the tank, and is calculated as the engine t cr gas mass ratio in the liquid tank to the cavity total flow of gas through the operating control motors (10-13).
At the initial portion of the shutter when the congestion level is negligible, the
After constructing the desired orientation, after a time t s , determined by the above formula, the control motors are turned on in mutually opposite directions, for example, the motors of the additional kit are turned on through the roll channel 13 (Fig. 1), which are not involved in building the orientation. To reduce the time t vk, it is possible to simultaneously turn on all control engines, while stabilization of the launched spacecraft is carried out in the "negative" mode, when the engine creating the control moment of this direction is turned off to counter the disturbing action of the aerodynamic moment of a given direction. The inclusion of control engines 10-13 produce a duration of t VK. .
The gas bubble from the
Since gas is discharged from the descent spacecraft through control engines that create moments in mutually opposite directions, an instantaneous gas discharge is carried out.
After the end of the fuel degassing operation, the control system controls the angular motion of the spacecraft in accordance with the task of providing descent.
Thus, the use of the invention allows to provide a cheap and reliable method for the degassing of liquid fuel in the tank of a spacecraft propulsion system.
