Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the field of radio communications, and more particularly to cellular and radial communication systems using subscriber terminals with automatic power control (AWP) of the transmitted radio signal.
[1]. There is a method of reducing mutual interference between base stations and subscriber terminals of various cellular communication systems, which consists in increasing the frequency diversity between the operating ranges of communication systems both in reception and transmission to a value that ensures compliance with the standards for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of two communication systems ( see Bykhovsky M.A., Dudukin S.N., Tikhvinsky V.O. Norms of frequency-territorial separation of RES of cellular communication networks of standards IS-95 and AMPS / DAMPS, pp. 72-80, Proceedings of the conference "CDMA-800 in Russia ", Cyprus, Limassol, November 1998) [1].
The disadvantage of the considered method is that the practical possibility of increasing the frequency diversity between the operating ranges of various communication systems, as a rule, is absent due to the limited frequency resources. Therefore, in the case of the mutual location of the base stations of different communication systems, for example, at a distance close to the border of the service area of the base station, an acceptable level of mutual interference between the base station of one network and close to it located subscriber terminals of another network is not provided.
Mobile communication system comprising base station each having omnidirectional antenna for reception of interference wave) [2]. There is a method of reducing intra-system interference in a mobile communication system, including base stations and subscriber terminals, which consists in measuring the interfering effect at the base station and providing the subscriber with a signal-to-noise ratio higher than a threshold level for service (see US patent 5548807 from 08.20.96, H 04 B 7/26; H 04 Q 7/20. Mobile communication system comprising base station each having omnidirectional antenna for reception of interference wave) [2].
The disadvantage of this method is that a positive effect is achieved due to the inefficient use of the capacity of the base station, since the interference itself is not eliminated, but only the best channel is selected from those that are not affected by interference. In addition, the considered method cannot be used to reduce intersystem interference.
There is a method of reducing mutual interference between base stations and subscriber terminals of two cellular communication systems having a spaced frequency range, consisting in the location of base stations of one system in the installation sites of base stations of another system (see Avdeeva L.V., Muratov E.S. Features of frequency-spatial planning and features of EMC when creating a wireless access network based on CDMA technology in Moscow and the Moscow Region., Pp. 27-30, Proceedings of the conference "CDMA-800 in Russia", Cyprus, Limassol, November 1998) [ 3 ]. This method is selected as a prototype of the claimed invention. Figure 1 shows a diagram illustrating the principle of operation of this method. Here BS1 and BS2 are the base stations of various networks located in the same place; A1 and A2 - transmit-receive antennas BS1 and BS2, respectively; M - mast; АТ1, АТ2 - subscriber terminals with automatic power control (AWP) of transmission located near the BS installation site; f1, f2 — transmission frequencies of BS1 and BS2, respectively, equal to the reception frequencies of AT1 and AT2, respectively; f1-δ, f2-δ are the transmission frequencies of AT1 and AT2, respectively, equal to the reception frequencies of BS1 and BS2, respectively.
Since АТ1 and АТ2 are located at a close distance from their BSs, the power of the signals transmitted by them is reduced due to the action of the AWS mechanisms and, therefore, the influence of interference from the AT1 side on the receiver of another BS2 and AT2 on the BS1 receiver (taking place due to the partial overlap of the signal spectra of various communication systems, figure 2) does not lead to a deterioration in the quality of communication. On the other hand, the output signals BS1 and BS2 due to the partial overlap of the spectra of the signals used by them are strong interference for AT2 and AT1, respectively, located near these BSs. However, at the same time, the inputs of the AT1 and AT2 receivers are affected by high-level useful signals from their nearby BS. Therefore, the ratio of the useful signal / interference at the inputs of the receivers AT1 and AT2 remains high and the effect of the interference does not lead to a deterioration in the quality of communication.
The disadvantage of this method is that in many cases it is impossible to place the base stations of different systems in the same installation locations or in close proximity to each other, which is due to both technical and administrative reasons. The technical result achieved by the invention presented in this application is to improve the quality of communication in the network and the bandwidth of base stations. To do this, at or near two base stations of radio communication systems that create mutual interference and are interfering with each other, active signal repeaters with duplex diversity of transmit and receive frequencies are located, the frequency range of which is set so that it matches the range frequencies of the interfering base station, while subscriber terminals with signaling workstation located near the "alien" base station receive and transmit signals re-emitted by active transponders, the frequency range of which coincides with the operating frequency range of the subscriber terminal, respectively, from its own and to its base station.

БС1, БС2 - базовые станции, принадлежащие сетям с различными системами радиосвязи соответственно и удаленные друг от друга на расстояние R, близкое к радиусу зоны обслуживания каждой базовой станции;

The inventive method is implemented using the device shown in FIG. 3, while the main elements of the device are indicated as follows:
BS1, BS2 - base stations belonging to networks with different radio communication systems, respectively, and remote from each other by a distance R close to the radius of the service area of each base station;
A1, A2 - transceiver antennas BS1 and BS2, respectively;
M1, M2 - antenna masts BS1 and BS2, respectively;
АТ1, АТ2 - subscriber terminals with automated workstation transmission located at the edges of the service area of their base stations BS1 and BS2, respectively, and in close proximity to the BS of another communication system;
f1, f2 — transmission frequencies of BS1 and BS2, respectively, equal to the reception frequencies of AT1 and AT2, respectively;
f1-δ, f2-δ are the transmission frequencies of AT1 and AT2, respectively, equal to the reception frequencies of BS1 and BS2, respectively;
P1, P2 - active signal repeaters with duplex diversity of the receiving and transmitting frequencies of BS1, AT1 and BS2, AT2, respectively;
D1, D2 - donor antennas of active repeaters P1 and P2, respectively, with narrow radiation patterns;
C1, C2 - service antennas of active repeaters P1 and P2, respectively, with wide radiation patterns.
The device operates as follows.
1. In the absence of a repeater P1 near BS2, the AT1 subscriber terminals located at a distance R from the boundary of the coverage area of their BS1 receive low-level signals at a frequency f1 and emit maximum power at a transmission frequency f1-δ. Since the spectra of AT1 transmission signals at a frequency of f1-δ and BS2 reception signals at a frequency of f2-δ overlap (for example, the spectral envelope of the most widely used in mobile communications digital phase modulation signals such as QPSK, OQPSK, π / 4 QPSK, etc. has the form of a square root of the “raised” cosine (Fig. 2), and part of AT1 is located near the BS2 receiver, then in this situation, from the side of nearby AT1s, the maximum interference to the BS2 receiver acts. At the same time, due to the overlap of the spectra of the BS2 transmission signal on frequency f2 and signals Receiving AT1 at a frequency f1 have the maximum effect of interference from BS2 transmit weak signals closely spaced AT1 receptors.
1. Similar effects are experienced by the BS1 receiver from the transmitters of nearby AT2 and the receivers of nearby AT2 from the transmitter of BS 1.
As a result of the influence of mutual interference between BS1 and nearby AT2 (BS2 and AT1), the signal-to-noise ratio at the base station receivers decreases (for all subscriber terminals of the service area working with BS1 and BS2, without exception) and subscriber terminals located near the interfering BS. As a result, the quality of communication for all subscriber terminals of the service area operating on the uplink (the subscriber terminal has its own base station) is deteriorating, blocking at base stations affected by channel interference if the interference exceeds the set threshold and the quality of communication over the line is deteriorating "down" for subscriber terminals located near the interfering BS.
2. In the presence of a duplex active repeater P1 at or near BS2, a weak signal from BS1 at a frequency f1 at location AT1 is amplified by the repeater and emitted at a high level near BS2. Therefore, the signal-to-noise ratio at the reception of AT1 located on the border of the service area of its BS1 in the coverage area of the relay P1 increases, which leads to an increase in the quality of communication at closely located AT1. At the same time, the output signal of the transmitter from nearby АТ1 at the frequency f1-d is amplified by the relay Р1, which, due to the action of the automated workstation, leads to a decrease in the signal level of the transmitter on АТ1 and a decrease in the level of influence of interference from this signal on the BS2 receiver. As a result, the quality of uplink communication on BS2 is improved for all AT2 subscriber terminals that it serves in the service area, as well as BS2 throughput.
2. Similar effects of improving the signal-to-noise ratio are achieved at the reception of BS1 and AT2 as a result of the installation of a duplex active relay of signals from BS2 and AT2 at frequencies f2 and f2-d, respectively, which leads to an increase in the quality of uplink communication on BS1 for all subscribers of the AT1 zone servicing, increasing the throughput of BS1, as well as improving the quality of communication for AT2 located close to it.
2. The use of donor antennas D1 and D2 with narrow radiation patterns on active repeaters P1 and P2 allows achieving the required electromagnetic isolation with transceiving antennas BS2 and BS1, respectively. The use of service antennas C1 and C2 with wide radiation patterns provides the formation of a circular service area for subscriber terminals AT1 and AT2 near the corresponding repeaters P1 and P2.
Thus, only the simultaneous installation of one active repeater at the edge of its service area at the location of the interfering BS or in the immediate vicinity of it provides a positive effect - improving the quality of communication for all subscribers in each system and the throughput of each base station.
In the practical implementation of the invention, a predetermined level of inter-system interference is provided with an arbitrary arrangement of base stations of two communication systems relative to each other, the protective frequency interval between the systems is reduced, and the number of working channels in the freed parts of the range is increased.
