Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the enrichment of minerals, namely the separation of materials by density, and can be used in mining, metallurgical and other industries.
A known method of magnetohydrostatic separation, including the creation of quasi-weighting of a ferromagnetic fluid (PMF) placed in a working chamber located between the pole pieces of the magnetic system, feeding the source material into the chamber and unloading the separation products, in which, in order to reduce PMF losses by combining heavy fraction unloading operations and regeneration of PMF on the lower layer of the latter is affected by a hydrostatic column of a washing medium [1]. The disadvantage of this method is that when enriching dry hydrophobic materials using hydrocarbon-based FMC based on kerosene, which is the most common in magnetogravitational enrichment, as a result of intermolecular interaction of the surface of the separated materials with the used BCF, the possibility of regenerating BCF by the traditional method from the concentration products is reduced, which consists in washing the latter with water. A decrease in the efficiency of regeneration leads to significant loss of PMF, especially when enriching the material of small classes.
The closest in technical essence to the present invention is a method of magnetogravitational separation, including the introduction of the source material into the PMF, weighted by exposing it to an inhomogeneous magnetic field, and unloading the separation products. The essence of this method lies in the fact that to reduce losses of PMF with separation products, the starting material is treated with an aqueous solution of surface-active substances (SAS) before being introduced into PMF [2]. The disadvantage of this method is the low efficiency of the separation of small material in the medium of hydrocarbon PMF on a kerosene basis due to the presence on the surface of the particles of the enriched material of an aqueous film (shell). Often this makes it generally impossible to separate particles with a particle size of less than 1 mm.
The objective of the present invention is to increase the efficiency of magnetogravitational separation of small material (particle size less than 1 mm) by reducing the loss of used hydrocarbon PMF.
The problem in the claimed invention is solved by achieving a technical result, which consists in reducing the adhesion forces (adhesion) of PMF with the surface of the separated material.
The specified technical result in the implementation of the invention is achieved by the fact that in the method of magnetogravitational separation, including the introduction of the source material into a ferromagnetic fluid, weighted by exposing it to an inhomogeneous magnetic field, and unloading the separation products, a dry water-soluble film is formed on the surface of the source material before being introduced into the ferromagnetic fluid coating.
The essence of the invention lies in the fact that a dry water-soluble film coating created in the process of pre-separation of the material prevents direct contact of hydrocarbon PMF with the surfaces of particles of separated materials, and using traditional methods of hydrocarbon PMF regeneration, the applied coating helps to effectively remove PMF from the surface of the separated materials. To create a coating, for example, aqueous solutions of certain substances can be used, which will impart hydrophilic properties to the surface of the material to be separated. After processing with such solutions, the material is dried with stirring, which prevents the aggregation of the dried material and allows the effective magnetogravitational enrichment of materials with a particle size of less than 1 mm.
According to the results of the analysis of the prior art by the applicant, no analogue has been identified, characterized by features identical to all the essential features of the claimed invention. The definition of the prototype allowed us to identify a set of essential distinguishing features in the claimed object set forth in the form of the invention. Therefore, the claimed invention meets the requirement of "novelty."
To verify compliance of the claimed invention with the criterion of "inventive step", a comparison was made with other technical solutions known from patent information funds, special technical literature and scientific publications, including sources included in the "prior art". The inventive method of magnetogravitational separation meets the criterion of "inventive step", since the combination of its essential features provides the separation method with a new quality, expressed in reducing losses of hydrocarbon PMF and increasing the overall efficiency of magnetogravitational separation of fine material, which does not follow explicitly from the prior art.
To confirm the industrial applicability of the proposed method, comparative experiments were conducted on the separation of materials with and without coating. A film coating on the surface of the material was formed by the following method. The material was treated with a solution of a specific substance, dried with stirring, and cooled to room temperature. The enrichment was carried out on a magnetogravitational separator MGS-PZ design JSC "Grant". Preliminarily, the amount of PMF used in the experiment was measured. The amount of PMF remaining in the separator was measured, and the amount of PMF contained in the separation products was determined by subtraction. After enrichment, the separation products were washed with water. The regenerated PMF removed from the separation products was collected and its amount was determined. According to the difference between the BCF contained in the separation products and the washed FCG, the loss of FCG was determined. The results of comparative experiments are presented in the table.
