Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the field of production of printed circuit boards by chemical milling (etching).
The process of chemical milling in solutions containing FeCl 3 , CuCl 2 , HCl and KCl consists in dissolving copper with the formation of CuCl 2 and the transition of Fe 3+ to Fe 2+ with the consumption of HCl and a decrease in the concentration of Fe 3+ and HCl. In this case, the etching properties of solutions deteriorate, the etching rate of copper decreases.

There is a method for the regeneration of an iron-copper-chloride etching solution (analog), including the electrolytic separation of copper at the cathode at a current density of 8-20 A / dm 2 and a temperature of 10-40 o C, oxidation of iron chloride to chlorine at the anode, and the etching solution after electrolysis is additionally oxidized with chlorine released on the anode during electrochemical oxidation, see copyright certificate CCCP 548051, C 25 F 7/02, C 23 C 1/36, 1977. This method of regeneration is characterized by a low, about 60%, cathode current efficiency, and the additional oxidation of iron chloride with chlorine released at the anode requires complex sealing of technological equipment. In addition, the regeneration at anode potentials reaching the potential for chlorine evolution requires a significant increase in the voltage across the cell.

The method of regeneration of iron-copper-chloride etching solution (prototype).
This regeneration method is characterized by a low, 70-80%, cathode current output and a high, more than 3 V, voltage at the electrodes, which causes an increased energy consumption.
The objective of the invention is to reduce energy consumption by reducing the voltage at the electrodes and increasing the cathode current output.
The task is achieved in that the partially spent etching solution of g / l composition: FeCl 3 - 160-170, CuCl 2 - 130-140, KCl - 120-130, HCl - 50-60, is divided into catholyte and anolyte in the ratio 1: 10 - 1: 4. The catholyte is treated with hydrazine hydrochloride in an amount of 350-400 g per 1 kg of etched copper, after which the copper is electrolytically separated at the cathode with the diaphragm separated by the cathode and anode spaces and the anolyte is mixed by bubbling at a current density of 8-100 A / dm 2 and a temperature of 20-40 o C. After electrolysis, the anolyte is fed into the pickling machine, and the catholyte is mixed with the next portion of the solution, which is regenerated in the anode space, where iron chloride is oxidized to chlorine.
