Abstract
Description
п. The invention relates to the field of ecology, namely to the fight against environmental pollution by oil, oil products, cyclic and aromatic hydrocarbons - toluene, benzene, etc.
A known method of removing spilled oil from the surface of the water, comprising spraying a composition comprising a hydrocarbon mixture with C 12 -C 20 radicals forming a gel when combined with oil, and then collecting the resulting gel (application GB N 2113196, class E 02 B 15/04 , 1983). This method achieves almost 100% removal of the oil film from the surface of the water, but it has several disadvantages: the complexity of the composition of the dispersant, which makes it necessary to have a sufficient amount of substance on board the oil recovery vessel; toxicity of certain ingredients of the substance; their partial solubility in water; the need to install special equipment for dispersing a substance on a ship; the inability to reuse the sorbent and use the collected oil.
Closest to the proposed is a method of removing an oil film from the surface of the water, including a closed system for the formation of sorbent material (coal particles bound by polyethylene), located on board the vessel, dispersing the sorbent material on the surface of the water and collecting it after sorption of oil (US patent No. 3783129, C. E 02 B 15/04, 1974). This method is much simpler in its technical implementation and allows you to use the sorbent repeatedly. Its disadvantages are the duration of the oil sorption process and its low sorption ability (about 75%), which does not allow having enough sorbent on board the vessel to clean large water surfaces. In addition, the method is not intended to remove oil and oil products from the land surface.
An object of the invention is to increase the collection efficiency of spilled oil and oil products on water and to ensure the possibility of collection on land.
The problem is solved in that in the method for collecting spilled oil and oil products, including the manufacture of a carbon-based sorbing material, dispersing the sorbing material over a surface contaminated with spilled oil or oil products, and collecting the sorbing material after sorption of oil or oil products, the sorbing material is made of natural graphite treated with chromic acid when the mass ratio of graphite and acid is 1: 0.2-1: 0.5 by resistive heating.
When collecting spilled oil from the surface of the water, it is possible to produce sorbent material on an oil recovery vessel.
In this case, the dispersion of the sorbent material is carried out by ejecting it into the water column under a surface contaminated with oil or oil products, followed by the emergence of the sorbent material or, if this is impossible, by spreading the sorbent material directly on the surface of the spilled oil or oil products.
In a method for collecting spilled oil and oil products, a surface contaminated with spilled oil or oil products is a surface of water and / or land.
To ensure the optimal production mode of the sorbent material, the mass ratio of graphite powder and chromic acid in the manufacture of the sorbent material is 1: 0.3, and resistive heating is carried out by passing a starting current of 90 A and an operating current of 25-35 A through graphite powder treated with chromic acid .
After collecting the sorbent material, the collected oil can be removed.
In particular, the removal of the collected oil is carried out by pressing.
After oil removal, the sorbent material can be reused or used as fuel, and the collected oil or oil products can be used for its intended purpose.
1. In FIG. 1 shows a device for implementing a method of producing a carbon mixture of high reactivity; in FIG. 2 is a section AA in FIG. one.
The method of collecting oil and oil products on water and on land is based on the manufacture of a sorbent material, which is a carbon reaction mixture, which has great reactivity with respect to any hydrocarbon compounds. The reactivity of the carbon mixture is due to the fact that when it is made from natural flake graphite, not only crystallites separate into separate packages of basal planes, as with the known methods for manufacturing expanded graphite, but also break interhexagonal covalent bonds. This leads to the formation of energetically stressed atomic carbon compounds. In addition, this sorbent material is hydrophobic, i.e. not absorbing water.
The manufacture of sorbent material is carried out by pre-processing graphite powder with chromic acid and subsequent resistive heating. As a result of the resistive heating carried out in the special reactor shown in FIG. 1, there are many electric arcs between the graphite flakes and instantaneous (within no more than 0.05 sec) breakup of the van der Waals and covalent bonds and graphite having a two-dimensional layered structure is transformed into a mixture of hexagons and carbon compounds of type C 3 , C 4 etc. The reactivity of such a mixture is very high due to the reactivity of energetically stressed atomic carbon compounds. In this case, more than 1000-fold expansion of graphite is achieved.
The main part of the device for implementing the above method is a reactor in which the mixture is resistively heated.
The reactor consists of a
A positive potential is supplied from a
At the ends of the reactor vessel, holes were made for loading the initial mixture and unloading the finished product. The mixture of graphite powder and chromic acid is loaded through the hopper 6 and the feed mechanism, made, for example, in the form of a screw 7. The feed mechanism provides a continuous flow of the mixture into the reactor. The reaction carbon mixture may be discharged into a collection vessel 8 into which the product enters due to a 1000-fold expansion.
The described installation can be placed directly on the oil-gathering vessel. The bulk density of the sorbent material significantly exceeds the bulk density of the source graphite, in addition, one gram of the reaction carbon mixture attaches at least 50 g of hydrocarbon compounds. Thus, it is possible to process huge contaminated sea surfaces in one boat exit without additional loading.
The sorbent material can be ejected directly into the water column beneath a contaminated surface or directly onto the surface, due to its low specific gravity the sorbent material quickly absorbs and adheres to the oil.
The sorbent material combined with the oil can be easily collected from the surface of the water by known methods.
It is just as easily removed from the land surface using harvesting equipment.
The collected oil remains suitable for further direct use, and the reaction carbon mixture for effective reuse, which is of great importance in natural disasters and environmental disasters associated with the spill of oil and oil products, especially on the surface of the water.
