Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to the field of wastewater treatment, and in particular to methods for treating sewage sludge, and can be used at biological treatment plants for domestic and industrial wastewater.
A known method of treating sewage sludge, including anaerobic digestion, aerobic stabilization and sludge dewatering, according to which, in order to improve the water-discharge properties of sludge, reduce the duration of aerobic stabilization and reduce the cost of the process, aerobic stabilization is carried out in the presence of excess activated sludge and crude sludge, and excess active sludge is used in an amount of 40-60%, and the crude sludge is 3.0-8.0% of the dry matter of the fermented sludge. (USSR Author's Certificate N 731693, C 02 F 11/04, 1979)
The disadvantages of this method are the use of a significant amount of excess sludge at the stage of aerobic stabilization without preliminary anaerobic digestion, which significantly increases the energy costs of its processing, and also leads to additional costs for stabilization of the crude sludge used as an additional substrate in the process of aerobic stabilization, due to for low adaptation of sludge to fermented sludge.
A known method of treating sewage sludge, including anaerobic digestion of primary sediment sediment in the methane tank, feeding it to an aerobic stabilizer together with excess activated sludge, followed by separating the compacted sludge in the sludge compactor and recycling the compacted sludge into the stabilizer, the compaction of the recirculated sludge and anaerobic sludge sedimentation tanks are carried out in a separate sludge compactor for 6-8 hours. (USSR Author's Certificate N 981256, C 02 F 11/02, 1980).
The disadvantages of this method are the increased costs of aerobic stabilization of the total amount of excess activated sludge generated at the station, in addition, for the recycling of part of the adapted biomass to the beginning of the aerobic stabilization process, a process is required for at least the age of the biomass, which unreasonably increases the duration of the stabilization process.
The closest in technical essence to the proposed one is a method of treating sewage sludge, including compaction of the initial sludge, anaerobic digestion and compaction followed by dehydration, according to which, in order to improve the sedimentation and water-releasing properties of the stabilized sludge, improve the quality of silt water and reduce the cost of the process, anaerobic the fermented sludge is subjected to aeration before compaction, and the anaerobic-fermented sludge is subjected to aeration for 0.1-3 days, as the initial sludge primary sediment or primary precipitate and activated sludge are used, and after aeration, the precipitate is subjected to aerobic stabilization, and a part of the excess activated sludge is supplied to the stabilization stage. (USSR Author's Certificate N 1168516, C 02 F 11/04, 1982)
The disadvantages of this method are the low activity of aerobic biomass at the stage of aeration, the supply of part of activated sludge to the stage of aerobic stabilization, bypassing the stage of anaerobic digestion, insufficient adaptation of activated sludge to the fermented sludge. As a result, the duration of the process increases and energy consumption increases. In addition, in the known method for mechanical dehydration using mineral reagents, which on the one hand are less sensitive to the quality of the treated sludge, and on the other, significantly increase the volume of dehydrated sludge.
The technical result from the use of the proposed method is to reduce the time of the process, reducing its energy consumption, reducing the consumption of reagent - flocculant, going to mechanical dewatering of sediments, and improving the quality of drain water.
The method is as follows.
A mixture of primary sediment and excess activated sludge is subjected to anaerobic digestion. Anaerobic-fermented sludge is subjected to aeration for 0.1-3 days, washing with water and compaction, part of the compacted sludge is subjected to aerobic stabilization and sent to the aeration stage. The compacted precipitate is treated with a cationic flocculant and subjected to mechanical dehydration.
5-40% of the compacted precipitate is subjected to aerobic stabilization, and the compaction step is carried out in the presence of an anionic flocculant.
A mixture of the primary sludge with the entire amount of excess activated sludge generated at the station is subjected to anaerobic digestion, which reduces energy costs for stabilizing the organic matter of excess activated sludge. During the aeration process in the presence of recycled adapted biomass, hydrolysis of the fine suspension present in the fermented sediment, oxidation of dissolved organic substances, as well as bioflocculation of the fermented sediment particles by adapted aerobic biomass is achieved within a minimum time (compared to using excess activated sludge). It was experimentally established that recycling less than 5% of aerobic biomass to the aeration stage does not provide a sufficient number of adapted aerobic microorganisms, which reduces efficiency and increases the duration of the process, and recycling more than 40% increases the sediment moisture after compaction. The stabilization stage ensures the maintenance of the required age of the biomass and the production of bioflocculants. Rinsing helps to reduce alkalinity and the amount of fine suspension, not hydrolyzed during aeration. It was experimentally established that fine suspension has a charge opposite in sign of the main part of the precipitate, therefore, to reduce the amount of suspension in the wash water and the total consumption of flocculants, it is removed by introducing an anionic flocculant at the washing and compaction stage.
Example. A mixture of the primary sludge of the Kuryanovskaya KSA aeration station with a moisture content of 94% and excess compacted activated sludge with a moisture content of 97% is subjected to anaerobic digestion in thermophilic mode for 6 days. Anaerobically-fermented sediment is subjected to aeration for 1 day, washing with 2 volumes of water with the introduction of Magnofloc 525 anionic flocculant in an amount of 0.2 kg / t and compacted to a moisture content of 94.5% for 1 day, part of the compacted sediment is 10% (by weight ) subjected to aerobic stabilization for 6 days and sent to the stage of aeration. Moreover, the total specific air flow rate is 12 m 3 / m 3 of the initial fermented sludge. The compacted precipitate is treated with a Zetag 89 cationic flocculant at a dose of 1.8 kg / t and subjected to mechanical dehydration on filter presses. The moisture content of the dehydrated sludge is 65%. Drain water with a suspended solids concentration of less than 600 mg / L and a COD of less than 400 mg / L are sent to the biological treatment stage.
A mixture of primary sediment and excess activated sludge is subjected to anaerobic digestion. Anaerobic-fermented sediment is subjected to aeration of the first stage for 0.1-3 days and compacted, part of the compacted precipitate is subjected to aerobic stabilization and sent to the aeration stage of the first stage. The compacted sludge is fed to the second stage of aeration with a residence time of 0.5-2.5 days, then part of the sludge is subjected to aerobic stabilization of the second stage with the return of the aerobically stabilized sludge of the second stage to the stage of aeration of the second stage, from where the treated sludge is sent to mechanical dewatering with preliminary processing it with a cationic flocculant.
Aerobic stabilization is subjected to 5-20% of the compacted sediment, and aerobic stabilization of the second stage is subjected to 40-60% of the precipitate after aeration of the second stage.

The stage of aeration of the second stage provides complete hydrolysis and stabilization of the fine suspension, usually removed during washing. Recirculation of less than 40% of the stabilized biomass to the aeration stage of the second stage does not lead to a significant improvement in the drainage properties, and more than 60% does not improve the process flow at the aeration stage.

Example. The compacted sediment is subjected to aeration of the second stage for 1.5 days and 60% is directed to the stage of aerobic stabilization of the second stage. The precipitate stabilized for 6 days is returned to the second stage aeration stage, after which the precipitate is treated with a Zetag 89 cationic flocculant at a dose of 2.5 kg / t and subjected to mechanical dehydration on filter presses. The moisture content of the dehydrated sludge is 65%. Drain water with a suspended solids concentration of less than 600 mg / L and a COD of less than 400 mg / L are sent to the biological treatment stage.
The proposed method, in comparison with the known one, allows reducing the consumption of reagents before mechanical dehydration, reducing the process time by 1.2-1.5 times and improving the quality of drain water, and therefore reducing the additional volumes of biological wastewater treatment plants.
