Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the woodworking industry and, in particular, to methods for changing the physicomechanical properties of wood.
B 27 K 5/02, 1980).The closest in technical essence and the achieved technical result to the claimed one is a method of changing the physicomechanical properties of wood, which consists in placing the wood in an airtight chamber, creating a vacuum in the chamber and chemically treating the wood by feeding gaseous ammonia under pressure into the chamber and heat treatment wood at 110 - 120 o C (for example, ed. St. USSR N 899349, class B 27 K 5/02, 1980).
The disadvantage of this method is the increased consumption of ammonia and therefore the increased energy consumption for processing a unit of wood. In addition, the known method has limited functionality, since its production cycle ends in a sealed chamber, which does not allow for further plastic shaping of wood.
The technical result, which is achieved by the claimed method, is to reduce energy consumption for processing a unit of wood and expand its functionality due to the fact that the production cycle can continue outside the sealed chamber, which allows plastic forming of wood by bending, compaction and applying to the surface of the relief pattern. In addition, the inventive method allows you to use and accordingly expand the scope of wood of relatively low-value species (alder, aspen, birch, etc.) instead of scarce expensive wood of valuable species (walnut, mahogany, etc.). The possibility of using wood of low value species in construction, furniture industry, decorative art and other sectors of the economy is also expanding.
To achieve the specified technical result in the known method of changing the physicomechanical properties of wood, consisting in the fact that the wood is placed in an airtight chamber, a vacuum is created in the chamber and the wood is chemically treated by supplying gaseous ammonia under pressure into the chamber, before the wood moisture is placed in the chamber was adjusted to 7 - 15%, after the timber is heated ammonia to 80 - 85 o C, the ammonia is fed at a pressure above 0.17 MPa, and then reduce the chamber pressure to atmospheric pressure and create a vacuum therein to a 0.03 MPa to suck off the vapors of unreacted ammonia, after which they again raise the pressure in the chamber to atmospheric and heat-treat the wood, and before heat treatment, the wood is dried to obtain its moisture content of 5-6%, and heat treatment is carried out in a sealed chamber by heating it to 110 - 120 o C and maintained at this temperature for 1 to 5 hours to obtain its desired tonality, and the wood is dried by cyclically changing the temperature and pressure in the chamber while increasing temperatures up to 85 o C and pressure up to 0.17 MPa, and then lowering the temperature to 60 o C and pressure up to 0.03 MPa, moreover, heat treatment can be performed not in a sealed chamber, but in a mold in which shaping is simultaneously carried out and drying wood.
The drawing shows a diagram of the installation for the implementation of the proposed method.
12 - 15%).To implement the method of changing the physicomechanical properties of wood, wood 2 is placed in an airtight chamber 1 (product blanks are sawn timber from alder, birch, aspen and other wood species) with a required initial moisture content of 7-15%. The use of wood with a moisture content of less than 7% does not provide sufficient expression of the texture of the wood and its staining. The use of wood with a moisture content of more than 15% dramatically increases the yield of by-products, in particular ammonia water. Then, the pressure in the chamber is reduced (a vacuum is created) to 0.03 MPa by pumping air out of it by means of a vacuum pump 3 through line 4 with open valve 5 and directing air along line 6 with open valves 7 and 8 to the atmosphere. After pumping air, valves 5, 7, and 8 close. Then, along the line 9, with open valves 10 and 11, gaseous ammonia is supplied into the chamber 1 under pressure, after which the valves 10 and 11 are closed. Then the wood 2 is heated up to 80 - 85 o C by heating the chamber 1 with steam supplied through line 12 with open valves 13 and 14 to the steam lines 15. The chamber can also be heated by heating elements built into it or a high-frequency source. After that, the wood is chemically treated by circulating gas and ammonia mixture in the chamber 1 from the fan 16, the line 17 of which is introduced into the chamber 1 and communicates with it with the open valve 18, and the main 19 with the open valves 20 and 7 communicates via the highway 6 with the atmosphere. The fan can be integrated directly into the chamber 1. Chemical treatment of wood is carried out under conditions that provide optimal technical and economic indicators of the process, namely, at the indicated temperature and pressure not higher than 0.17 MPa. The pressure, vacuum and temperature in the chamber 1 are controlled by a manometer 21, a vacuum gauge 22 and a thermometer 23. Moreover, due to the fact that ammonia enters into chemical interaction with wood and is absorbed by it, its volume decreases and the pressure in the chamber decreases. To maintain pressure, additional portions of ammonia are fed into the chamber 1 along the line 9 when valves 10 and 11 are opened. The process of chemical treatment of wood is considered complete if the pressure in the chamber does not decrease within 2 hours. After the process of wood processing with ammonia is completed, the pressure in the chamber 1 is reduced to atmospheric (0.1 MPa) by opening the valves 7 and 24. After reaching the atmospheric pressure in the chamber 1, the valve 24 is closed and the vacuum pump 3 creates a vacuum in the chamber 1 to a value of 0, 03 MPa with open valves 5, 8 and 7, after which these valves are closed. The chamber is evacuated to aspirate the vapors of unreacted ammonia. Then the pressure in the chamber 1 is again increased to atmospheric by supplying compressed air to it when the valves 25 and 11 are opened and the valves 10 and 14 are closed. If the residual moisture of the wood after opening the chamber 1 is more than 5 - 6%, then the chamber is closed and filled with a new one a portion of dry air, bringing the wood temperature to 60 - 85 o C. In this case, the wood is dried by cyclically changing the temperature and pressure in chamber 1 by simultaneously raising the temperature to 85 o C and pressure to 0.17 MPa and then lowering the temperature to 60 o C and crushed up to 0.03 MPa. After reaching the required specified moisture content of the wood, it is ready for the heat treatment process. When conducting heat treatment in chamber 1, wood 2 is heated to 110 - 120 o C by heating the chamber, as described above, and maintained at this temperature for 1 to 5 hours. When choosing a heat treatment temperature, it should be borne in mind that at wood temperature more than 120 o C and a moisture content of more than 6% hydrolysis of wood occurs, which reduces its strength and affects the quality of the color. At temperatures below 110 o C and humidity less than 5%, the color of the wood also deteriorates. After the heat treatment process, the chamber and wood are cooled to 40 - 50 o C and the wood is unloaded from the chamber. In this case, the wood has a moisture content of 5–6% (equilibrium humidity under normal operating conditions is 12–15%).
- не содержит химически несвязанного с древесиной аммиака и является экологически чистой;
- имеет ярко выраженную текстуру;
The resulting wood (product blanks - lumber) is characterized by the following:
- does not contain ammonia chemically unrelated to wood and is environmentally friendly;
- has a pronounced texture;
- has a tonality of dyeing from light brown to dark brown with a reddish-yellow hue, depending on the duration and heat treatment modes,
- indicators of mechanical properties (density, compressive strength along the fibers, during static bending, when chipping along the fibers) under normal operating conditions are equal to or greater than the corresponding parameters of the source wood, and the indicators of physical properties (water absorption, radial, tangential and volumetric swelling) are less, than the original wood.
д.). When carrying out heat treatment in a heated mold, heat treatment can be combined with drying and shaping (shaping blanks, in which they can be densified, increase strength, reduce moisture absorption or moisture swelling, bending, applying a relief pattern to the surface, etc.).
