Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for producing o-dianisidine sulfate, which is an important intermediate in the manufacture of dyes.
[1]. Known and found application in industry is a method of producing o-dianisidine by reducing o-nitroanisole with zinc powder in an alkaline medium to obtain o-hydrazoanisole and its subsequent rearrangement into o-dianisidine sulfate [1].
The disadvantage of this method is the high consumption of expensive and scarce zinc powder. In addition, this process is unsatisfactory from the point of view of ecology, since a large amount of non-utilizable zinc sludge is formed.
There is also a method of producing o-dianisidine sulfate, including the electrochemical reduction of o-nitroanisole [2]. In accordance with this method, electrochemical reduction is carried out in a water-alkaline solution in the presence of a solvent of ethyl alcohol. After passing a certain amount of electricity, an extractant, o-dichlorobenzene, is added to the catholyte. An extract containing o-hydrazoanisole is treated with sulfuric acid to rearrange to give o-dianisidine sulfate. The yield of o-dianisidine sulfate according to the described method is 70%. The disadvantage of this method is the process of electrochemical reduction in the environment of ethyl alcohol, which greatly complicates the technology, since distillation and regeneration of alcohol is required.
The objective of the invention is to develop a method for producing o-dianisidine, including the electrochemical reduction of o-nitroanisole, which allows to simplify the technology.
To solve this problem, a method is proposed in which the electrochemical reduction is carried out in an aqueous emulsion, and benzene polychloride is used as an exagent — a waste product of chlorobenzene production containing at least 90% dichlorobenzenes.
The process of electrochemical reduction is carried out in a membrane electrolyzer at a current density of 3-5 A / dm 2 and a temperature of at least 85 ° C. To carry out the process in an emulsion, a surfactant is added to the reaction mass.
The extraction of o-hydroanisole is carried out with benzene polychlorides (the content of dichlorobenzenes is not less than 90%), and the rearrangement of the extracted product is carried out with a 35% solution of sulfuric acid.
66,4%. By the proposed method, a product is obtained with a yield of up to 66.4%.
Example 1. The membrane electrolyzer is loaded: into the cathode space - 625 ml of water, 48 ml of 43% sodium hydroxide solution, 0.66 g of lead oxide, 0.34 g of surfactant - CB-101 (TU6-14- 961-84) and 32 g of o-nitroanisole; 235 ml of a 20% sodium hydroxide solution into the anode space.
2.The reaction mass is stirred and heated to 85 o C, and then pass a current density of 3 A / DM 2 .
After 5.5 hours of recovery, an extractant is loaded into the cathode space — benzene polychlorides, composition,%: m-dichlorobenzene (DCB) 29.7; p-DCB 36.5; O-DCB 31.5, and continue electrolysis for another 1.2 hours
At the end of the recovery, the water-alkaline emulsion is separated into organic and aqueous layers. The organic layer containing hydrazoanisole is washed until neutral and treated with a 35% sulfuric acid solution at a temperature of (-) 2 ° C for 30-40 minutes. The resulting precipitate of o-dianisidine sulfate is filtered off and 16.79 g of a 100% product is obtained, which corresponds to a material yield of 66.4%, based on the loaded o-nitroanisole.
Example 2. The process of recovery and rearrangement of the resulting o-hydrazoanisole is carried out according to example 1, phenoxol 8/10 [TU6-14-14-149-81] in the amount of 1.6 g is used as a surfactant.
In this case, 15.6 g of 100% o-dianisidine sulfate are obtained, which corresponds to a yield of 61.7% of the substance, based on the loaded o-nitroanisole.
Example 3. The recovery process of o-nitroanisole is carried out as in example 2, but at a current density of 5 A / DM 2 . The rearrangement of o-hydrazoanisole is carried out according to example 2. At the same time, 14.96 g of 100% o-dianisidine sulfate are obtained, which corresponds to a yield of 58.9% based on the loaded o-nitroanisole.
Example 4. The process of producing o-dianisidine sulfate is carried out in accordance with example 1, but at a current density of 5 A / DM 2 . In this case, 16.48 g of 100% o-dianisidine sulfate are obtained, which corresponds to a material yield of 65.2%, based on the loaded o-nitroanisole.
Thus, the proposed method for producing o-dianisidine sulfate allows to obtain a product with a sufficiently high yield, simplifying the technology by eliminating the use of ethyl alcohol.
