Abstract
Description
The invention relates to chemical technology, in particular, to methods for producing cellulose-containing sorbents that can be used to purify toxic heavy and radioactive metal ions and wastewater from solutions.
Known methods for producing cellulose-containing sorbents by treating wood with various organic modifiers (polyamines, formaldehydes, etc.) [1, 2] These sorbents are used to treat wastewater from organic substances and heavy metal ions. The disadvantages of these methods are the complexity of the synthesis and the relatively low sorption characteristics of the obtained sorbents.
Closest to the claimed is a method of producing a cellulose-containing sorbent, including treating cellulose with a mixture of solutions of phosphoric acid and urea at a temperature of 70 80 o C, drying, heat treatment at a temperature of 140 150 o C and washing the resulting material with water [3, prototype] The obtained sorbent is cellulose phosphate It has a capacity of 2.6 mEq / g and is used mainly to remove calcium ions from biological media (blood, milk, etc.). The disadvantages of this sorbent are its relatively high cost, as well as insufficiently high selectivity in salt solutions to ions of transuranic elements.
The objective of the invention is to obtain a sorbent based on natural wood raw materials with high capacity and selectivity to ions of heavy toxic and transuranic elements.
The problem is solved by synthesis of the sorbent, which includes the processing of hardwood sawdust with a solution of the composition: phosphoric acid 0.5 2 mol / l,
The specified set of distinctive features is not described in the scientific, technical and patent literature and is new and not obvious to a person skilled in the art.
So, we experimentally showed that when using a sorbent obtained by the claimed method for the extraction of trace amounts of radionuclides Pu (IV), U (VI) and Am (III) from nitric acid solutions, the distribution coefficients of these radionuclides are 6500, 60000, 13500 cm 3 / g, respectively, which is higher than the Kd values obtained using the sorbent obtained by the prototype method (cellulose phosphate) [3] as well as using other phosphorus-containing inorganic sorbents (titanium or zirconium phosphate) and ion-exchange resins (SF-4, SF-5 , K F). In addition, the material obtained by the claimed method, in comparison with the prototype has 1.6 1.8 times more ion-exchange capacity and does not lose mechanical strength.
This fact is explained by the fact that when wood is treated with a mixture of phosphoric acid and urea, not only cellulose is phosphorylated, but also other wood components (lignin, hemicellulose, etc.), the phosphate derivatives of which determine the increased capacity and selectivity for TUE radionuclides. The inventive ranges of concentrations of reagents, temperature and processing time are optimal from the point of view of obtaining a sorbent with maximum sorption characteristics and consumption of reagents.
The predominant use of sawdust of deciduous trees is due to the fact that when using coniferous sawdust in the synthesis process, the reactants interact with the resinous substances of wood with the formation of a sintered mass, which is difficult to phosphorylate.
The inventive method is illustrated by the following example.
Example 1 (prototype).
1 kg of cellulose in the form of gauze is impregnated in a solution of the composition: 3850 g of urea, 1430 ml of 85% phosphoric acid and 8320 ml of distilled water at a temperature of 80 o C for 30 minutes Then the material is removed from the solution, squeezed from the excess reagents, dried at a temperature of 60 80 o C and heat treated in an oven at a temperature of 150 o C for 690 minutes Next, the material is washed with water until a negative reaction with a phosphate ion and dried in air to constant weight.
