Abstract
Description
The invention relates to thermal cutting of materials, in particular to methods for plasma cutting of metals, and can be used in procurement and repair operations in the production and operation of machines and metal structures.
Known methods of cutting metals by plasma arcs, in which various gases are used as working media: argon, nitrogen and their mixtures with hydrogen, helium, oxygen, compressed air and its mixtures, carbon dioxide, as well as water, ammonia, etc. The most widely used the most economic and affordable air-plasma and nitrogen-plasma cutting, the use of other processes is limited primarily for economic reasons.
However, plasma cutting in nitrogen-containing environments is accompanied by the formation of toxic nitrogen oxides in the plasma and their atmospheric emissions, which violates environmental and sanitary requirements.
Along with this, nitrogen is absorbed by the molten metal remaining on the edges of the cut blanks. As a result of this, during the subsequent welding of cut workpieces, in particular from structural steel having a predominant use, an unacceptable anomalous porosity of welds arises [1]
In order to economically protect the arc column and the cutting zone in the case of stabilization of the arc by compressed air, it was proposed to inject water into the plasma [2]
It is known that the water supply to the flame zone where the NO formation reaction takes place reduces the nitrogen concentration in this zone, creates heat removal to evaporate the water and increases the heat content of the generated vapor [3] However, the NO content in the combustion products decreases by no more than 1 / 5. A small effect is also achieved with nitrogen-plasma cutting, especially since water is blown into the already formed column of the arc, i.e. in its outer areas. Water supply to the cathode space of the cutting plasma torch is unacceptable, since the presence of moisture in the zone of the forming nozzle worsens the electrical insulation of its walls, causes the appearance of small arc discharges in the cathode-nozzle section with the smelting and erosion of copper, provoking its destruction by a double arc [4] ie . in the case of the use of nitrogen-containing working fluids in the plasma cutting of metals, it is not possible to achieve satisfactory results in reducing the level of environmental pollution with nitrogen oxides and nitrogen saturation of the cutting edges, and their slight decrease is accompanied by the appearance of additional hazards.
These shortcomings led, despite a slight decrease in efficiency, to the use of the least expensive of the nitrogen-free gases, in particular oxygen, as working media. However, a noticeable saturation of the metal with nitrogen and the formation and emission of its oxides are also observed when cutting with plasma containing no nitrogen. In these cases, nitrogen enters the plasma from the surrounding atmospheric air by means of its turbulent mass transfer and partially thermal diffusion into the arc column.
To reduce such mass transfer, a protective blowing of the cutting plasma jet with a concentric stream of nitrogen-free gas is used, as a rule, the same as that used to stabilize the arc [5] However, in this case as well, for nitrogen-free and / or its mixtures traditionally used in plasma cutting gases it is not possible to achieve a complete absence of nitrogen in the edges of the cut and pollution of the surrounding atmosphere with its oxides, since, not having sufficient fluidity, these gases are not able to form an inextricable protective film in the area of the cut where undesired reactions occur with air containing nitrogen. In addition, since such gases are more expensive than compressed air and nitrogen (oxygen, argon, etc.), the organization of a protective flow with their help is accompanied by a significant decrease in cutting efficiency.
In technical essence and the achieved results, the closest technical solution to the invention is a method of cutting an oxygen-plasma arc with the injection of water into the arc column and its simultaneous protection with a concentric water bell. At the same time, about 10% of the water evaporates, filling the peripheral part of the arc, the remaining 90% form a protective water shell of the arc. The harmful fumes emitted during the cutting process and partially gases are deposited by water and their concentration in emissions decreases by about 50%. On the other hand, an increase in the oxygen content in the plasma in this case reduces the layer of molten metal at the edges, and an oxide layer forms on its surface slag film restricting the access of nitrogen (oxygen reduces the rate of nitrogen adsorption by liquid iron). As a result, the nitrogen saturation of the edges is reduced so much that it prevents the appearance of pores in the joints during the subsequent welding of steel billets with a thickness of 8-10 mm and more.
Nevertheless, during cutting and subsequent welding of steel with a thickness of 4-6 mm and less, the porosity of the welds remains at an unacceptable level and using the described method it is impossible to reduce the gas saturation of the edges so as to exclude pores during welding. The formation of nitrogen oxides is also possible, and grata occurs on the edges of the cut, increasing with increasing thickness of the metal being cut.
In order to avoid disruption of the continuity of the liquid flow protecting the arc column, the water flow rate should be at least 10 l / h, which is not economical and requires the use of bulky drainage systems. In addition, the formation of a water stream concentrically covering the plasma arc at the nozzle exit (outside the plasma torch) has the disadvantage that, due to the radial redistribution of static pressure in the cross section of the arc column in its central part, there is a discharge of the order of 0.01 MPa, as a result of which there is a suction of water into the cathode-nozzle (internal) cavity of the plasma torch. The consequence of the ingress of water into the plasma torch in an amount of 0.1 l / min or more is (up to 50%) cathode wear; above 0.2 l / min, the ignition conditions of the plasma torch are worsened up to failure.
Along with this, in all known cases of using water for plasma cutting, it leads to an unacceptable rate of corrosion of the edges of the cut parts. The reason for this is the formation of a surface electrolyte film on the metal being cut in the cutting zone as a result of contact with liquid water or condensing vapor and its electrochemical interaction with the metal, intensified during plasma cutting by the leakage of electric current through the metal boundary with an aggressive medium and causing intense corrosion. To prevent it, it is necessary to add an inhibitor to the water, and after cutting, apply a protective primer layer to the metal, which must be removed before welding the workpieces. These operations reduce profitability and increase the complexity of cutting blanks and manufacturing welded structures in general.
The aim of the invention is to improve the quality of the cut, as well as environmental safety and process reliability.
This goal is achieved in that in a plasma cutting method for metal, which provides stabilization of the plasma arc by a working medium that does not contain nitrogen and / or its compounds by feeding it into the plasma arc and creating an annular protective flow from a water-containing medium concentrically covering the plasma arc throughout nozzles to the workpiece, the plasma arc is protected by superheated water vapor, and in order to reduce the cost of the process and the plasma arc is stabilized by superheated water vapor.
In FIG. 1 shows a diagram of the process of cutting a plasma arc stabilized by oxygen and protected by superheated steam; in FIG. 2 diagram of the process of cutting a plasma arc stabilized and protected by heated steam.
The following notation is given in the drawing: 1 cathode; 2 internal (forming nozzle); 3 outer (protective) nozzle; 4 arc chamber; 5 stabilizing oxygen stream; 6 stream of superheated steam; 7 cutting arc; 8 cut metal.
The proposed method can be implemented, for example, as follows: a standard machine for plasma cutting of carbon steel sheets using a conventional ventilated cutting table is equipped with a conventional cutting plasma torch containing a
В отличие от насыщенного перегретый пар не конденсируется даже в цилиндре паровой машины; это его свойство полностью исключает конденсацию на поверхностях вырезаемых деталей, устраняя возможность появления электролитной пленки и развития коррозии без применения ингибиторов и других защитных мер, что позволяет повысить качество реза по отношению к прототипу, обеспечивая при этом экономичность процесса;
Superheated water vapor is not inferior in efficiency to compressed air and, unlike drip liquid (water) and its saturated steam, has a number of favorable specific properties that make it preferable to use superheated water vapor for environmentally friendly high-quality plasma cutting with high reliability of the process:
In contrast to saturated, superheated steam does not condense even in the cylinder of a steam engine; this property of it completely eliminates condensation on the surfaces of cut parts, eliminating the possibility of the appearance of an electrolyte film and the development of corrosion without the use of inhibitors and other protective measures, which allows to improve the quality of the cut relative to the prototype, while ensuring the efficiency of the process;
The high fluidity of superheated steam, its ability to penetrate into gaps and crevices, apparently ensures the absence of violations of the continuity of the protective steam jet around the arc and, most importantly, in the cut cavity and reliable protection of the metal on its surfaces from nitrogen-saturated contact with atmospheric air, as a result of which and it is possible to reduce the nitrogen saturation of the edges of the cut to almost zero, significantly increasing their quality and the quality of welds in subsequent welding (when welding billets of steel with a thickness of less than 4-6 mm, cut used method, the porosity in the welds offline).
Low thermal conductivity and high heat capacity of superheated water vapor determine small values of the coefficients of turbulent mass transfer and diffusion mass transfer, limiting the mass transfer of atmospheric air into the arc and the cutting zone, which eliminates the presence of nitrogen and its harmful effects, making the plasma cutting of metal environmentally safe.
Along with these specific advantages of water vapor, its low thermal and electrical conductivity makes it possible not only to external blow the arc, but also to supply it to the cathode space, as a medium providing electrical and thermal insulation of the arc column from the surface of the nozzle channel and high reliability plasma torch, which allows the use of superheated water vapor as a highly economical, nitrogen-free plasma-forming medium for stabilization of the cutting arc, protected by a concentric shell regretogo steam.
д. The proposed method can be implemented in any spatial positions for manual or machine cutting at individual positions, in the conditions of mechanized or automated production lines, etc.
