Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the manufacture of composite polymeric materials, namely to non-porous prepregs based on fusible polyimides.
It is known that conventional aromatic polyimides based on pyromellitic acid dianhydride are not fused, because the melting point of the crystals significantly higher decomposition temperature which is equal to about 450 C. The crystalline infusible polyimide obtained from pyromellitic acid dianhydride (DPMK) and diamines such as the m-phenylenediamine , n-phenylenediamine. Prepregs made in the form of a fibrous base impregnated with a concentrated solution of polyamic acid based on these diamines and DPMK have significant porosity, which is difficult to prevent due to the crosslinking of carbonyl groups by amino groups [1]
Such porosity adversely affects both the mechanical properties and the thermo-oxidative stability of polyimides.
The aim of the invention is to obtain a non-porous prepreg.
GG, где G кислород или сера;
Z водород или фенил, причем при Z водород аминогруппы диамина находятся в О- или М-положении по отношению к G и при Z-фенил эти группы находятся в о-, m- или n-положении по отношению к G;
R G , где G кислород или сера;
R фенил, дифенил или нафтил;
GG, где G кислород или сера, и аминогруппы находятся в о- или m-положении по отношению к G;
The goal is achieved in that the prepreg, made in the form of a fibrous base, impregnated with a concentrated solution of polyamido acid based on pyromellitic dianhydride or pyromellitic acid diester, contains a polyamido acid based on diamines of the general formula H 2 NG-NH 2 , where G is an organic radical selected from the group including radicals:
G G where G is oxygen or sulfur;
Z is hydrogen or phenyl, wherein at Z the hydrogen of the amino group of the diamine is in the O- or M-position with respect to G and with the Z-phenyl, these groups are in the o-, m- or n-position with respect to G;
R G where G is oxygen or sulfur;
R is phenyl, diphenyl or naphthyl;
G G where G is oxygen or sulfur, and amino groups are in the o- or m-position with respect to G;
O O or a mixture thereof; and the volatile content in the prepreg does not exceed 25% of the total weight.

The preparation of polyamido acids based on the above compounds is carried out in a known manner in an environment of an organic solvent. As solvents, polar solvents are used, such as alcohols, ethers, ketones, amides or sulfoxides. Preferably, N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone or a mixture thereof with alcohol, N, N-dimethylacetamide and diglyme are used as solvents.
As the fibrous base of the prepregs, fabrics, non-woven, woven materials, strands of fibers, continuous fibers oriented in one direction, and so on are used.
As the fibrous base, it is preferable to use carbon and aramid fibers. Glass, asbestos and boron-tungsten fibers can be used. Composite material contains about 5-70 vol. filler.
The process of obtaining composite material includes two stages.
In the first stage, the fiber base is impregnated with a solution of the starting reagents to obtain polyimide in a suitable solvent, then the impregnated material is usually kept at elevated temperature to reduce the volatile content, usually up to about 25 wt. or up to 10-20 wt. The resulting prepreg is then molded to obtain a layered material. Such materials are used for the manufacture of automotive panels, instrument housings, rocket parts, panels for electronic circuits, motor windings and so on.
П р и м е р 1.
Example 1. A graphite fiber fabric (Magnamite, Style A 193 P, Hercules Corp), placed on a release film, is impregnated with a solution of the starting materials for polyimide in an appropriate solvent. The wet prepreg is dried for 30 minutes on a hot plate heated to 160 ° C. Then the lower release film is removed, the prepreg is turned on the other side and kept on the hot plate for another 15 minutes. In the resulting dry prepreg, the residual volatile content is about 7-9% and the cured resin content is about 31-34%
In the second stage, a stack of twelve layers of prepreg measuring 7.5 x 12.5 cm and 2.12 mm thick is placed in the shell of their microporous polypropylene film (Celgard, Celehese Corp) located in a piston mold installed in a vacuum chamber. The latter is evacuated and maintained at a pressure of 103 Pa. The chamber was heated to 371 ° C at a rate of about 2 C per minute. Then, when the desired temperature is reached, a pressure of 6.9 MPa is applied and after 1 min it is cooled under load to room temperature. Layered material is characterized by its density, fiber content (vol.) And the content of voids.
