Способ получения железоокисного пигмента с антикоррозионными свойствами из красного шлама - отхода глиноземного производства, включающий его прокаливание, отличающийся тем, что красный шлам перед прокаливанием разделяют по классам крупности с отбором фракции до 0,02 мм и дополнительно от 0,02 до 0,045 мм, фракции обрабатывают ортофосфорной кислотой при нагревании до pH=6, суспензию фильтруют, высушивают, прокаливают на воздухе, охлаждают и измельчают, причем при прокаливании при температуре 200-250°C получают пигмент коричневого цвета, а при прокаливании при температуре 600-650°C - пигмент красного цвета.
