Abstract
Description
The invention relates to wastewater treatment and may find application in the treatment of domestic and industrial effluents.
[1] . A known method of wastewater treatment, including sedimentation, aeration with air and filtering through a porous charge with its periodic washing. Aeration and filtering by this method is carried out simultaneously, while the supply of wastewater and air is carried out in countercurrent. Air is supplied in an amount ensuring the content of dissolved oxygen in the filtrate of 0.5-2.0 mg / l [1].
However, this method has a low cleaning effect. Since aeration and filtering are carried out simultaneously (the aeration and filtering zones are combined), biomass is transferred to the porous loading of the filtering zone, which worsens the cleaning process by filtering due to biological fouling of the porous material and the occurrence of secondary pollution. The use of a large fraction (3-10 mm) in the filtering zone, as in the aeration zone, also reduces the cleaning effect due to the leakage of part of the contaminants through the large pores of the filter load.
The closest is the method, the essence of which is to filter the wastewater from bottom to top in the first stage and filter the water from top to bottom in the second stage with the introduction of air into the lower part of the filter charge [2]. The disadvantage of this method is the low cleaning effect from dissolved contaminants (BOD, surfactant, petroleum products, phenols, etc.). The low cleaning effect is explained by the fact that in the first and second steps there is a simple filtering through a porous charge without oxidation of dissolved contaminants. At the second stage, only the wastewater is saturated with air. There are no biochemical processes (using microorganisms) for the oxidation of dissolved pollutants at both stages, which reduces the effect of wastewater treatment from BOD, surfactants, oil products, phenol, etc.
The aim of the invention is to increase the degree of purification. This goal is achieved by the fact that the wastewater is subjected to aeration with air and two-stage filtration through a porous charge with water supply from bottom to top in the first stage and from top to bottom in the second stage. In this case, aeration is carried out in the first stage, and an oxidizing agent is introduced into the lower part of the porous filtering load in an amount of 4-7 mg / l, the diameter of the porous loading being 0.63-1 mm.
Thanks to aeration and two-stage filtration, as well as into the water of the oxidizer in the lower part of the charge, the filter load does not foule at the second stage of filtration and thus secondary pollution does not occur. When an oxidizing agent is introduced, organic substances are mineralized, which in this state are well retained by the porous fine-grained charge. As an oxidizing agent, ozone, hydrogen peroxide, and chlorine can be used.
П р и м е р 1. PRI me R 1. On two columns with a diameter of 50 mm simulated the cleaning process according to the proposed method. The first column, loaded to a height of 1 m with expanded clay with a diameter of 3-10 mm, represents the first stage of filtration. Air is fed down expanded clay loading. The second column, loaded to a height of 0.5 m with zeolite sand with a grain diameter of 0.63-1 mm, represents the second stage of filtration. An oxidizing agent (ozone) is introduced into the lower part of the second stage of filtration in an amount of 5-6 mg / l. Filtering on the first column is carried out from the bottom up, and on the second column from the top down. The filtration rate and the intensity of the air supply to the filtration zone in both cases is 3 m / h, 3 m 3 / m 3 of water, respectively. Wastewater had the following composition: BOD 5 120 mg / l, COD 350 mg / l and suspended solids 192 mg / l.
1. The experimental data are presented in table. 1.
16,6% .As can be seen from the table. 1, the cleaning effect of the proposed method in comparison with the known method is greater for BOD 5 by 13.5%, COD by 20.7% and suspended solids 16.6%.
2. The degree of purification is greatly influenced by the amount of oxidizing agent introduced and the size of the loading grains. An assessment of the effect of the amount of oxidizing agent and grain size of the charge on the degree of purification is given in table. 2.
The results of the experiment show (see Table 2) that the greatest cleaning effect according to BOD 5 and suspended solids is achieved when the grain size of the porous load is 0.5-0.63 mm and the amount of oxidant introduced is> 4 mg / L. However, at this grain size, the filter must be turned off for regeneration (flushing) after 13 hours.
As you can see, the best cleaning effect according to BOD 5 and suspended matter is achieved with a grain size of 0.63-1 mm and the amount of oxidant introduced is 4-7 mg / l. The duration of filtration by marginal pressure loss was 26 hours. When the amount of oxidizing agent introduced was <4 mg / l, not all of the organic matter is converted to mineral contaminants, which are well retained by the porous fine-grained charge in the filtration zone. To introduce an oxidizing agent in an amount of> 7 mg / l is not economically profitable, since its consumption increases, and the cleaning effect remains the same. The increase in the diameter of the porous load to 1-1.5 mm, although it increases the duration of the filter cycle to 35 hours, however, the cleaning effect of BOD 5 and suspended solids is reduced.
П р и м е р 2. PRI me R 2. Domestic wastewater after settling, having BOD 5 120 mg / l, COD 350 mg / l and suspended solids 192 mg / l, is subjected to sequential two-stage filtration at a speed of 3 m / h At the first stage, water is supplied from bottom to top through expanded clay porous loading with a grain diameter of 3-10 mm and a height of 2 m. The second filtering stage consists of zeolite sand with a grain diameter of 0.63-1 mm and a height of 1 m. At the bottom of the first stage in the support layer Distributed water and air distribution systems. Air is supplied at a rate of 3 m 3 / m 3 water. After passing through the first stage, water overflows into the separation channel and then enters the second stage of filtration. After the first stage, BOD 5 10 mg / L, COD 100 mg / L and suspended solids 11 mg / L were restrained in the treated wastewater. Filtering from top to bottom in the second stage of filtration, the wastewater was further purified by introducing an oxidizing agent and filtering through a fine-grained zeolite charge (0.63-1 mm). Down the second stage of filtering through a special distribution system serves an aqueous solution of ozone with a concentration of 5 mg / L. After the filtration zone, the treated wastewater has a BOD of 5 3 mg / L, a COD of 45 and suspended solids of 4 mg / L. The water-air washing of the porous charge is carried out once every two days.
