Description
п.The invention relates to mechanical engineering, namely to tool surfacing, and may find application in the production of small-sized end tools, for example milling cutters, taps, reamers, and the like.
A process for the continuous production of ingots or billets is known, based on the uniform movement of the metal relative to the casting and crystallization zone. This method is not used for the manufacture of small-sized bimetallic tools, since it is technically difficult to operate with small amounts of molten metal and to ensure reliable welding with seed
A prototype of the present invention is a method for plasma surfacing of end mill blanks with a diameter of 40 mm, in which the tool material is deposited on the side surfaces of a horizontally positioned blank of structural steel
The manufacture of a small-sized tool in this way is impractical, since the tool obtained in this way cannot end face such as drills or key mills (GOST 9140-78), and surfacing on a small-diameter bar is very difficult due to its rapid overheating.
The aim of the invention is to save tool material and expand the range of tools
At the same time, a reduction in labor intensity is also achieved by eliminating the use of rolled tool steels and welding and milling operations. It is also possible to improve the quality of the tool through the use of materials that are not amenable to blade processing.
This goal is achieved by the fact that in the method of manufacturing the end tool, in which the tool material is deposited on a workpiece made of structural steel, surfacing is carried out using a mold, the workpiece made of structural steel is placed vertically upside down in the mold, and the workpiece is moved down during the welding process

Part of the product was not previously used as a seed; therefore, these features are new. The use of this set of features provides a positive effect, which expresses in saving tool material and expanding the range of tools manufactured using surfacing, which indicates the significance of these signs. The combination in one method of the inherent features of surfacing and continuous casting provides a super-cumulative effect that is not achieved with any of these methods, namely: the possibility of manufacturing a bimetallic small-sized tool from any materials with a minimum consumption.
Therefore, the proposed technical solution has a significant novelty.
The essence of the proposed method is illustrated by the drawing, where 1 is the tail part of the tool, 2 is a chuck, 3 is a mold, 4 is a welding torch, 5 is a weld metal. The arrow shows the direction of movement of the workpiece relative to the mold
The method is as follows. The tail part of the tool 1, made of structural steel, is inserted vertically at one end into the chuck 2, and the other into the mold 3 end up. The inner hole of the mold has a configuration close to the configuration of the cutting part of the finished tool. After the burner 4 begins to deposit the tool material onto the end of the shank serving as a seed, the latter begins, by lowering down with the cartridge 2, drawing out the deposited working part of the tool having a section of the mold opening, i.e. close to the section of the finished tool. In the manufacture of a spiral tool, such as a milling cutter, the chuck is rotated relative to the mold with the workpiece. When the deposited working part reaches the required length, which is limited only by the capabilities of the equipment used, the process is stopped, and the deposited tool is removed from the mold and the cartridge. After heat treatment and sharpening, such a tool can be used. In the case of rotation of the chuck and the mold, where the ends of the workpiece enter, the quality of the tool improves, since the deposited metal under the action of centrifugal forces better fills the peripheral zones of the mold opening, and the tungsten and molybdenum carbides contained in the deposited metal (for example, high-speed steel or carbidostal), as the heavier fractions of the melt, are concentrated on the cutting edges of the tool, which increases its durability.

0 A 40X steel shank was inserted with its upper end into a water-cooled copper mold, the inner hole of which had the configuration of the working part of the M 8 tap. The lower end of this shank was clamped in a chuck mounted on the table of the 6P82 model milling machine. Surfacing was carried out by a plasma torch for plasma-powder surfacing with 10P6M5 steel powder in the following modes: surfacing current 180 A, voltage 30-32 V, powder flow rate 70 g / min, argon flow rate: plasma forming 3 l / min; transporting 4 l / min, protective 17 l / min. Deposition time of the cutting part 20 mm long
5.5 about 5 s. The workpiece was lowered manually. The taps made in this way were subjected to heat and abrasive processing according to the traditional conditions, and then they were tested when cutting threads in steel from steel 45. Tests showed that the resistance of taps made by the proposed method is not inferior to the resistance of standard taps made of rolled P6M5 steel.
