Description
The utility model relates to aviation, in particular to the design, layout and construction of a helicopter with coaxial rotors and its control system.
Known coaxial helicopters of the Kamov company, their rotor designs and control systems (p. 14-18, Helicopter magazine No. 3 (18), Kazan, 2002). The coaxial scheme of the helicopter has a serious genetic flaw - the lashing of the blades due to the proximity of the bearing coaxial rotors located in parallel planes (one above the other) and rotating in opposite directions.
The coaxial-type helicopters currently in operation have articulated hubs for rotors and blades with a sufficiently high deformability. The collision of the blades of the lower and upper rotating screws leads to the inevitable and instantaneous destruction of the entire bearing system and the death of the helicopter.
Attempts to spread the planes of the lower and upper propellers to a relatively safe distance significantly worsen the helicopter's flight performance: it sharply increases its harmful resistance and increases the already high loads on the structural elements of the “column”, which leads to a decrease in resource.
So, to reduce the risk of overlapping blades rotating in different directions of the upper and lower rotors, they are spaced apart in height by an amount equal to the 0.2R radius of the rotor (see L. S. Wildgrube, p. 26, “HELICOPTERS calculation of integral aerodynamic characteristics and flight technical data ", - M. Mechanical Engineering, 1977). For the Ka-26 helicopter, the overall height increase is 1.3 m, for the Ka-32 - 1.6 m.
It is almost impossible to guarantee the exclusion of whipping. The swing motion of the blades increases in maneuvering modes. Its growth in emergency situations when various types of self-oscillations occur, far exceeds all calculated cases. In these situations, catastrophic consequences for coaxial screws are inevitable.
The relatively large overall height dimension for helicopters with a coaxial bearing system complicates their maintenance during operation, they require high rooms - hangars, which is especially difficult when basing coaxial helicopters on a ship; moreover, a large size in height makes it necessary to dismantle the main gearbox coaxial helicopter transportation with subsequent assembly, re-conducting control and testing activities.
In the known solutions of the bearing systems of coaxial helicopters, the control elements are mounted both on the outer surface of the gear shafts on which the rotors are mounted, and inside the rotor shaft. The control system is complex and binds the rotor shafts so tightly that it often does not allow placing certain types of equipment, for example, a radar antenna, above the plane of rotation of the coaxial rotor, as is done on single-rotor helicopters.
The disadvantages of the known helicopter coaxial rotor systems: there is a risk of overlapping of the lower and upper rotor blades, the complexity of the control system, restrictions on the placement of equipment above the coaxial rotors, large height dimensions, increased aerodynamic drag of the coaxial rotor hub (“column”).
Another of the known technical solutions (prototype) is a coaxial helicopter rotor having different sized upper and lower screws (RF patent No. 2496681, 10.27.2013). The disadvantage of this rotor is the absence of tail sections on the blades of the large screw from the butt to the middle of the blade, i.e. on the radius of the large screw 0 ... 0.5R the spar of the blade is “bare”. This arrangement contributes to the vortex formation in the non-profiled section of the blade and increases the harmful resistance during operation. Also, the proposed propeller layout does not solve a number of problems related to the “bulkiness” and complexity of the coaxial rotor control system, as well as safety due to the potential overlap of the upper and lower rotor blades in high-speed and maneuverable flight modes.
The objectives of this utility model are: increasing the level of operational safety, reducing the complexity of the design of the rotor hub and control system, reducing the dimensions of the bearing system in height, and also improving the aerodynamic characteristics of the bearing system.
The problem is solved due to the fact that the helicopter with a coaxial rotor, includes the upper and lower rotors of the opposite rotation and the control system, according to the claimed utility model, has an upper hard screw of small diameter and with control only the general pitch of the blades, and the lower screw is moderate stiffness of large diameter with the control of the total and differential pitch of the blades, and the rotations of the screws are in a ratio that provides the same speed of the end sections of the blades of the upper and lower about the screws.
The technical result of the proposed utility model is to increase the level of operational safety, due to the absence of the risk of collision of the blades of the upper and lower screws, due to geometric aspects that minimize this risk. In the proposed utility model, a small-diameter screw is made rigid - the distance from the axis of rotation to the equivalent horizontal hinge, referred to the radius of the screw, is more than 80%. A large diameter screw is made of moderate stiffness - the distance from the axis of rotation to the equivalent horizontal hinge, referred to the radius of the screw, is within 10 ÷ 40%. Simplification of the design of the rotor hub (using only axial joints) and the control system is achieved by eliminating the differential pitch control of the upper rotor blades. The control and balancing of the helicopter in the roll and pitch channels is carried out similarly to a single-rotor scheme, i.e. by changing the differential pitch of the lower propeller blades (larger diameter). The top propeller has only control over the overall pitch of the blades (like airplane propellers of variable pitch “VISH”). By reducing the diameter of the upper screw and increasing its rigidity, a layout opportunity appeared to safely position the upper and lower screws at a shorter distance from each other, which reduces the overall height and improves the aerodynamic characteristics of the carrier system. It seems rational the ratio of the diameters of the lower and upper screws in the range of 1: 0.4 ... 1: 0.8. The ratio of the diameters of the screws, the convergence of the planes of rotation, the stiffness parameters of the screws, etc. are determined by calculations and experimentally in the design.

15.The revolutions of the screws are in a ratio that ensures the same speed of the end sections of the blades of the upper and lower screws. The aerodynamic layout of the upper 1 and lower 2 propellers (sets of profiles, the shape of the blades in the plan, the number of blades, etc.) is determined from the condition of the need to balance the reactive moment and the ability to control an aircraft with such a rotor in all design flight modes. The tasks solved by this utility model are: reducing the risk of overlapping upper and lower propeller blades at high-speed and maneuvering flight modes, improving the aerodynamic characteristics of the load-bearing system are even more relevant for promising high-speed helicopters, including with additional propulsive propulsion, because it is in flight at high speeds that there is a significant need for the indicated properties of the carrier system.
