The device is a flow-through fluorimeter-nephelometer, which allows to simultaneously determine two indicators of water quality: a complex of organic substances and optical density.
However, this device does not allow measuring the conductivity of solutions and gives unstable results in the presence of air bubbles.
A device for the rapid analysis of aqueous media in a stream (a meter of optical density of aqueous media, AS SU No. 1807346 A1, IPC G01N 21/47, BI No. 13, 1993), containing a light source, portholes, photodetector, valve, filter , covers, stock, clamp and standards.
The disadvantage of this device is the low accuracy of the measurement, due to the inability to maintain proper orientation of the device in space, periodic reconfigurations and rapid contamination of the windows. In addition, frequent reconfiguration, cleaning, and related assembly and disassembly of the device complicate its operation.
The disadvantage of these analogues is also the measurement error due to the instability of the light source and the registration of background radiation, recorded due to the optical and hydraulic leaks of the measuring cavity.
A device for the express analysis of aqueous media in a stream is known as a prototype (“Differential meter of optical density of a liquid medium during cultivation of phytomass”, RF patent No. 120229, IPC G01N 21/00, publ. 09/10/2012). The specified device contains a light emitter with a condenser, reference and measuring optical channels, measuring cuvettes located in the path of the rays of the reference and measuring channels, photodetectors of the signals of the reference and measuring channels and a differential amplifier, as well as a piping system with valves.
The prototype does not work effectively enough, since the measurement results depend significantly on external factors: temperature, background constant and variable radiation, and are also not represented in absolute values of optical density. In addition, the quality of the analysis of the composition of the aqueous medium using the prototype is not enough, since the analysis is limited to measuring only one parameter characterizing the dispersed composition of the aqueous medium, namely the optical density of aqueous media containing a dispersed phase (phytoplankton). Meanwhile, for a complete qualitative analysis of the aquatic environment, information on the content of dissolved impurities (mineralization) of the analyzed aquatic environment, which is represented by data on its electrical conductivity, is no less important.
The objective (general technical solution) of the present invention is to improve the quality of the analysis of the composition of aqueous media by measuring the integral characteristics of the medium, including the data of simultaneous measurement of optical density and electrical conductivity in a given section of the flow of the analyzed aqueous medium.
The problem is solved in that in a device including a light emitter, two identical flow-through measuring cuvettes with nozzles for input and output of liquid, optical windows for input and output of radiation and photodetectors of the signals of the measuring channels, a differential amplifier, two electrodes are placed in the measuring cuvets in this way so that the lines connecting the optical windows of the cell pass between them perpendicular to the line drawn between these electrodes, and the light emitter is made in the form of an infrared cluster with LEDs included in the electric circuit for automatically adjusting the radiation level through interconnected photodiode and control unit.
Also, the problem is solved by the fact that in the proposed device, the optical windows for input and output of radiation are located opposite each other and are made in the form of thinning the wall of the cell in the range of 150-200 microns.
Also, the problem is solved in that the proposed device is based on a pulse generator connected to synchronous detectors of the optical measuring channels and an alternating current generator connected to synchronous detectors of the measuring conductivity channels.
Also, the problem is solved by the fact that in the proposed device the microprocessor is connected via an RS-485 interface to an external computer.

The conductivity channels are connected to a common generator of sinusoidal voltage of the
Each cuvette is made of F4 fluoroplastic, equipped with nozzles for input and output of the analyzed liquid, electrodes, and also optical windows for input and output of radiation, made opposite to each other in the form of thinning of the cell wall in the range of 150-200 microns.
DS18520.The radiation source is made of 860 nm LEDs of the L934SF6 type, the radiation receiver is made of BPW24 photodiodes. Chips AD 711 were used as pulse and voltage amplifiers. Synchronous detectors are based on 4052 and OYAD711 chips, and differential amplifiers are based on AD711 chips. The AD9834 sine wave generator, AD9834 pulse generator, Atmel Atmega 128 microprocessor, RS-485 converter and DS18520 temperature sensor were also used.
The proposed device operates as follows.
Registration and conversion of analytical signals in determining optical density and electrical conductivity are performed simultaneously. Control (purified) water is passed through one of the sensor chambers, and the analyzed liquid is passed through the other chamber and readings from electrode systems and photodetectors are read. Then, the analog signals are converted to digital and sent through the communication channel to the central computer, with the help of which they are further processed and the analysis results are output.
3.The measurement of optical density is carried out by a pulsed method. This eliminates pulsed illumination. In any operating mode, stable operation of the SDK 3 emitter is maintained. To this end, the radiation is simultaneously fed to the flow cells K1, K2 and the
14.The radiation that passed through the K1 and K2 cuvettes enters the
Determination of electrical conductivity.
The electrodes E 18 and E 21 are placed in such a way that radiation from the cluster of LED emitters SDK 3 passes through the electrode space between them. This ensures the simultaneous reading of analytical signals from the optical density and electrical conductivity of the studied aqueous medium.
14.Analytical signals of electrical conductivity are generated using a sinusoidal voltage generator ГСН 15 and voltage amplifiers УН 16 and
14.The temperature regime of the emitter is maintained according to the scheme of automatic adjustment of the radiation level using a
The
Calibration of the sensor and flushing the cuvettes are carried out by passing through the cuvettes the same solution of comparison or pure water, respectively. In these cases, the high quality of the procedure is indicated by the minimum difference between the sensor readings on both measuring channels.
As a control solution, either a standard comparison solution or a solution that has passed a given stage of water treatment is used. In the latter case, the differences between the two readings of the sensor correspond to a decrease in the concentration of impurities directly during the technological treatment of the runoff. Such estimates are minimally susceptible to background distortions associated with a change in the surface state of the sensor nodes that are sensitive to the composition of the medium under study.
Thus, a general technical solution of the present invention is to improve the quality of the analysis of the composition of aqueous media by measuring the integral characteristics of the medium, including data on the simultaneous measurement of optical density and conductivity in a given section of the flow of the aqueous medium.
Also, the technical effect of using the proposed device is to increase the efficiency of the device due to the fact that the light emitter is made in the form of a cluster of infrared LEDs included in the electric circuit for automatically adjusting the radiation level through interconnected photodiode and control unit.
