Powstajacy nierozpuszczalny siarczyn cynku rozklada sie termicznie w piecu i czysty tlenek zawraca do procesu. Wedlug wynalazku odlotowe gazy hutnicze zawierajace S02 plucze sie w temperaturze 20-80°C zawiesina technicznego tlenku cynku pochodzacego bezposrednio z pieców prazalniczych w roztworze siarczanu cynko¬ wego. W ten sposób przenosi sie S02 z gazów rozcienczonych do gazów stezonych, a uzyskane roztwory siarczanu cynkowego przerabia sposobem elektroche¬ micznym.2 78961 PL PLPriority: October 16, 1972 (P. 159376) Application announced: September 30, 1973 Patent description was published: September 8, 1975 78 961 KJ. 12i # 17/60 MKP COlb 17/60 READING ROOM of the Patent Office of Inventors: Józef Szarawara, Leon Forner, Józef Marszalek, Czeslaw Kozik Authorized by a temporary patent: Politechnika Slaska im. W. Pstrowskiego, Gliwice (Poland) Method of utilization of sulfur dioxide from diluted gases emitted in zinc smelters The subject of the invention is a method of recovering sulfur dioxide from diluted gases emitted in zinc smelters by absorption of zinc oxide in the suspension. In the known sodium-zinc method, the absorbent is an aqueous solution sodium sulphite, which is regenerated with zinc oxide. The resulting insoluble zinc sulfite is thermally decomposed in the furnace and the pure oxide is returned to the process. In this form, the zinc method has not found practical application. In another simplified method, the absorbent is an aqueous suspension of pure zinc oxide / ZnO cycle used in this process -? ZnS03 -? ZnO and the recycling of ZnO, as well as the necessity to use pure ZnO, must be considered from a practical point of view as disadvantageous properties of this zinc method. The aim of the invention is to combine the absorption of sulfur dioxide with the metallurgical process into a single technological whole. This goal was achieved by absorbing sulfur dioxide in a suspension of technical zinc oxide in a zinc sulphate solution at a concentration of 0.1-0.25 mol / liter, and then the precipitated product, after separation on filters, is added in a wet state as an additive to sulphide charge in the ore sintering process and the sulfur dioxide emitted during the decomposition is discharged with stagnant gases for processing into sulfuric acid, while the zinc sulphate solution remaining in circulation, after exceeding the concentration of 0.3 mol / liter, is withdrawn from the process and transformed into metallic zinc According to the invention, the SO2-containing metallurgical waste gas is washed at a temperature of 20-80 ° C with a suspension of technical zinc oxide coming directly from the roasting furnaces in a zinc sulphate solution. The sludge obtained in the process, containing the precipitated zinc salts and unreacted oxide, after being separated on the filters, is directed in the moist form to the zinc concentrate sintering plant, where it is used as an additive to the sulphide charge on the first Dwight-Lloyd belt. In the sintering process, the sulphites as well as the sulphates contained are decomposed into oxides, which will be included in the solid sintered product, and concentrated gases are formed, which are suitable for direct processing into sulfuric acid. In the circulating solution, the concentration of zinc sulphate increases over time and when its concentration exceeds the value c = 0.3 mol / liter, the solution is drained and, after purification, the zinc is recovered by electrolysis. In this way, SO2 is transferred from dilute gases to concentrated gases, and the resulting zinc sulphate solutions are processed by electrochemical method.
