Description
Opis wynalazkuDescription of the invention
The present invention relates to a method of displaying images from a smartphone device using a full sphere-shaped magnifying lens on a special screen.
Various methods of projecting an image from a smartphone to a projection surface are known. For example, the image from an external device such as a mini projector, coupled with a smartphone, is projected onto a so-called reflective (non-transparent) screen - used for front projection. There is also a method where the image is projected onto a projection surface without an external projector. In this case, a magnifying glass is placed between the smartphone screen and the projection surface. By appropriately zooming in or out of the smartphone from the lens, as well as in the device settings, by selecting the option: image reversed by 180 degrees, the optimal focus point is obtained. Such display methods are used in various types of training projections or as part of the so-called home theater.
Powyższe metody nie dają możliwości projektowania składowych obrazu stereoskopowego dla oka lewego i prawego wyświetlanych naprzemiennie, tak by obraz był wyraźny i czytelny bez konieczności użycia okularów migawkowych. Celem poprzedniego naszego zgłoszenia o numerze P.426069, było polepszenie wyżej wymienionej niedogodności.The above methods do not make it possible to design the components of the stereoscopic image for the left and right eye displayed alternately, so that the image is clear and legible without the need to use shutter glasses. The purpose of our previous report, number P.426069, was to remedy the above-mentioned inconvenience.
In this application, the aim is to display still images and moving images as well as to display stereoscopic images for the left and right eyes from a smartphone device using a full-sphere magnifying lens on a special screen facing the observer and the projection device. It uses the properties of the screen from application P.426069 to create - in this case - a two-layer screen on which the observer looks straight and the images are projected through a full sphere-shaped lens.
The method of displaying images from a smartphone device using a full-sphere magnifying lens on a special screen is characterized in that the images displayed from the smartphone Fig. 1 (A) are projected perpendicularly through a sphere-shaped magnifying lens Fig. 1 (B) onto a two-layer screen where the first layer is the Fresnel lens Fig. 1 (C) and the second layer is the lenticular foil of Fig. 1 (D). On the flat surface of the two-layer screen, refraction, partial absorption and partial reflection of the focused light occur. The thus obtained image of Fig. 1 (E) is a real, rotated, enlarged image.
Then the light that has passed through the Fresnel lens hits the lenticular foil, penetrates this foil layer meeting at the end the horizontal cylindrical lenses that are a component of this foil, facing the observer as well as lying parallel to his right and left eyes. Thereby, the light is emitted in the horizontal plane, but not selectively in the vertical plane.
Depending on the viewing angle, each horizontal, cylindrical lens, parallel to the observer's right and left eyes, acts as a focusing lens, magnifying and emphasizing a specific part of the image projected on the back, flat side of the special screen. The set of such lenses composing the lenticular foil sheet plus the optical properties of the Fresnel lens enables the observer to see the image as a whole. Changing the viewing angle changes the optical shape of the image visible under the lenses. The result is a 3D image without the need for glasses.
The solution can be used for displaying still images and moving images from a smartphone or tablet device, as well as in eyeglass-free, stereoscopic image projection, obtained with the help of synchronized two cameras recording the same image in real time at different angles and given to the screen in an alternating manner for the left and right eye of the observer from devices such as a smartphone or tablet.
