Description
Opis wynalazkuDescription of the invention
The subject of the invention is a method of burnishing metal tubes, especially aluminum, which enables burnishing in only one technological process.
Nagniatanie zachodzi w niewielkim zakresie odkształceń (znacznie poniżej 1 mm) i realizowane głównie w celu utwardzenia warstwy wierzchniej nagniatanego przedmiotu. There are known methods of rolling and sliding burnishing of metal materials (PL388334, PL337148, US6497022B1). They are divided into static and dynamic. In static methods, the workpiece moves in a rotating or reciprocating motion, while in dynamic methods the working element is most often a rotating disc with burnishing balls on the circumference, with an axis of rotation parallel to the plane of the workpiece. Known methods are applicable to the treatment of flat and rotating parts, burnishing their surface layer under conditions of a plane stress state. Burnishing takes place within a small range of deformations (much less than 1 mm) and is mainly carried out in order to harden the top layer of the burnished object. These methods are not applicable to the treatment of tubes which causes a significant and deliberate reduction of their diameter. In industrial practice, such burnishing of the ends of metal, mainly aluminum, tubes is carried out by mechanically pressing an annular burnishing sleeve with a diameter slightly smaller than the burnished end of the tube. In order to obtain a significant reduction of the pipe diameter, this process has to be repeated with the use of successive burnishing sleeves with gradually decreasing diameter. Such a burnishing method is time-consuming because it requires several technological processes, correspondingly for each of the burnishing sleeve, which is individually mechanically attached to the crimped metal tube in succession.
The aim of the invention was to develop a method of burnishing metal tubes that could be carried out in one technological process. At the same time, it was assumed that the burnishing forces needed to plasticize the material should act gradually, until the desired tube diameter is achieved by pressing, without significantly deforming its symmetry.
The essence of the invention is a method of burnishing metal tubes, which is characterized in that the surface of the tube is burnished in a spiral through the inner surface of the burnishing sleeve narrowing the opening of the sleeve. The sleeve is rotated eccentrically by the drive so that its axis of rotation is inclined with respect to the axis of the burnished tube at an acute angle. The tube moves through the translational movement into the burnishing sleeve, the opening of which widens so that the inner surface behind the point area of the burnishing end is inclined at an angle equal to or greater than the acute angle between the axis of rotation and the axis of the burnished tube. Preferably, the inner surface of the burnishing sleeve has an oval shape in the narrowing area of its opening. It is also good if the burnishing sleeve is seated in the bearing in the drive so that it can freely rotate around its axis, while the acute angle between the sleeve rotation axis and the burnished tube axis is 3 degrees. It is also advantageous if the sleeve is rotated eccentrically at a speed of 2,500 to 3,000 rpm, while the tube is inserted into the burnishing sleeve at a speed of 5 to 15 mm per second, the insertion being carried out by translational movement of the drive together with the sleeve. burnishing against the immobilized tube. Optionally, the two ends of the tube may be burnished simultaneously in a method according to the invention. The burnishing sleeve should be made of a tool steel with high abrasion resistance, preferably of the NC10 type, while the burnished metal tube according to the invention is preferably made of an aluminum alloy.
A favorable effect of the method according to the invention is to obtain symmetrical bumps of the metal tube, which significantly reduce its diameter in only one technological process. This method achieves a gradual spiral action of burnishing forces, until the desired tube diameter is achieved, without deforming its symmetry. The tube burnishing process is much shorter than the known multi-process methods.
