A4 Cena 45 zl PLThe subject of the invention is an encephalovolumeter used to determine the distance between the brain and the skull and the assessment of the volume of the brain on this basis. There is a known device for detecting the excessive accumulation of intracranial fluids, which is characterized by the fact that the intensity of skull illumination is measured in the darkroom by applying a lens lamps at specific points in the skull. The axis of the photoelectric sensor is placed in the telescope, which is rigidly attached to the ring of the lamp equipped with the lens and is parallel to the axis of the lens at such a distance that the light-sensitive surface of this sensor is located in the light circle formed when the lens of the lamp is applied to the surface of the skull. The objective of the invention was to develop an encephalovolumeter with a diameter of less than or equal to 3 cm which would allow a continuous, non-traumatic and in normal light conditions assessment of the volume of the brain. It was necessary to eliminate the influence of external light on the measurement results and to completely eliminate the heating of the sensor, from which the heat penetrated the skin and other tissues, which made it impossible to conduct continuous measurements in the previous method. The essence of the solution according to the invention consists in the use of a measuring transducer. consisting of a cold light source, which is a light guide, and a photoelectric element. The principle of construction of this transducer is tapping: the photocell element is coaxial with the optical fiber and is embedded in the transducer by a securing ring and the tip of the optical fiber. mutually parallel conical cylindrical surfaces, the cone apex angles of the tip are within the range of 15 ° -H 80 °, and their apexes are cut. The invention is illustrated in the drawing of an example of an example of an encephalovolume meter is shown schematically and his The transducer is shown in longitudinal section. The encewavolumeter consists of a light source 1 power supply connected to a light source 2, which in turn is placed in the reflector 3. The end of the optical fiber 4 is provided with a plug connector 5 and a fiber optic plug 6, which through the optical fiber 10, protected by a spring 7 is connected to the measuring transducer 16. The measuring transducer 16 consists of the transducer holder 8 in which the optical fiber housing 9 is mounted, and a securing ring 14 connected separately with the transducer holder 8. Inside the securing ring 14 there is a conical cylindrical tip of the optical fiber 12 and a photioelectric sensor 13 109 682 109 682 3 connected by a cable 11 to the measuring system 15. The method of measuring with an encephalvolumeter consists in using a light disc produced by a light source, which is applied to the surface of the human body in different points from the type of p conducted measurements or tests. In this way, the applied light is scattered and the amount of this scattering changes depending on the distance, for example, of the brain from the skull bone cover. A photoelectric sensor placed coaxially with the light disc measures the amount of this scattering, which is recorded on the measurement panel. The produced light disc used for measurements has an intensity ranging from 10 to 100 times greater than the external light intensity 10 15, therefore the measurements are very accurate and it is not required to perform them in a darkroom. Patent claim Encephalumeter consisting of power supply, light source, optical fiber and measuring system, characterized in that it has a measuring transducer (16), the photoelectric element (13) of which is coaxial with the optical fiber (10) and is ended with a securing ring (14) and the end of the optical fiber (12) with mutually parallel conical cylindrical surfaces, the top angles of the cone of the fiber tip (12) being within the range of 15 -r- 80 ° and their tops are truncated.
