Abstract

With the ever-changing weather condition, the inventor has observed that several fish farmers has been moving toward the indoor pond farming, RAS or biofloc. This is based on the survey conducted by the inventor to a facebook group page where most members are fish farmers who are exploring indoor farming and other fishing methods. The survey results exhibit monitoring water quality parameters such as temp, dissolved oxygen and temperature is vital to the fishing operation. With this, the inventor was motivated to design an internet of things automated water quality management system for RAS and biofloc particularly in an indoor pond fish farm. Furthermore, the prototype has automated feeding module and also addresses less energy consumption by having the option to use solar as power source. The system shall monitor (a) temperature (b) dissolved oxygen (c) ph. Once the system detects unacceptable values of the mentioned parameter, automatically the prototype shall manage the water quality. To maintain temperature levels, relays connected to a heater and cooling fan will be activated once the controller detects unacceptable alert temperature sensor values. Once the dissolved oxygen is not in its normal level, relay will be activated where a motor pump, bubble generator or blower is connected. And for pH level maintenance, a baking soda solution shall be added on the tank to neutralize the pH level. Furthermore, the system has an automated feeding system where the user sets a number of turns and a schedule where the feeder will work.
