CONSTITUYEN SUSTRATOS DE MICROORGANISMOS A FIN DE PERMITIR SU SOLUBILIDAD Y SEPARACION; CARACTERIZADO PORQUE COMPRENDE LAS ETAPAS DE: (a) ACONDICIONAR EL MINERAL CON LA CANTIDAD DE ACIDO QUE A PRIORI SE DETERMINE COMO MAS CONVENIENTE, A FIN DE NEUTRALIZAR EL MINERAL, EVITAR SU COMPACTACION Y PROVEER LA ACIDEZ ADECUADA PARA LOS MICROORGANISMOS, PUDIENDO DICHA CANTIDAD ESTAR CONTENIDA EN EL MENOR VOLUMEN POSIBLE DE UNA SOLUCION O TOMAR CONTACTO CON EL MINERAL A TRAVES DE VAPORES ACIDOS, DE MODO QUE SE ACIDIFIQUE HOMOGENEAMENTE EL MINERAL INTRODUCIENDO EN EL SISTEMA LA MENOR CANTIDAD DE AGUA POSIBLE; (b) ADICIONAR UN INOCULO MICROBIANO CON CAPACIDAD DE OXIDAR LOS COMPUESTOS MINERALES DE INTERES O ENRIQUECER LA FLORA MICROBIANA PROPIA DEL MINERAL; (c) POSIBILITAR LA PERDIDA EXPONTANEA O INDUCIDA DEL EVENTUAL EXCESO DE AGUA MEDIANTE EVAPORACION, O POR SECADO CON CORRIENTES DE AIRE; (d) MANTENER EL SISTEMA DURANTE EL TIEMPO NECESARIO PARA QUE AQUELLAS PARTICULAS DE SUSTRATO QUE TIENEN AL MENOS UN MICROORGANISMO ADHERIDO SEAN TRANSFORMADAS; (e) LAVAR EL MINERAL A FIN DE SOLUBILIZAR LOS COMPUESTOS OXIDADOS, Y (f) SEPARAR LAS SOLUCIONES DE LAVADO Y EL SOLIDO REMANENTE
