Abstract

Some conventional reels that are manually operated can be tiresome and time-consuming for users. Moreover, conventional reels may be mounted to a fixed structure, such that the reel does not move in response to the user moving to a different location. Disclosed herein is a reel assembly that comprises a frame, a spool and a wheel. The frame comprises a base and an elongate mounting portion configured to pivot relative to the base about a pivot axis. The elongate mounting portion comprises a proximal portion coupled with the base, a distal portion, and an intermediate portion between the proximal and distal portions. The spool drum is connected with the intermediate portion of the elongate mounting portion, and is configured to rotate about a rotational axis that is generally transverse to the pivot axis to spool and unspool a linear element. The wheel is connected to the distal portion of the elongate mounting portion and configured to roll about the pivot axis. The distal portion positions the wheel along a transverse axis that is generally transverse to the rotational axis and the pivot axis.
