Abstract

Disclosed is an electrical plate system and method for providing moisture-resistance in moist environments. A grid plate for an electrical outlet or switch plate for mounting to a surface, the grid plate comprising: at least one base aperture for accessing a base switch interface of a base switch unit part removably connected to the grid plate; and a flexible moisture-impermeable sheet disposed over the at least one base aperture so as to close the at least one base aperture; wherein; the grid plate is capable of receiving the base unit switch part such that the base switch interface of the base unit switch part is disposed on one side of the flexible moisture-impermeable sheet so as to, in use, engage with a cover switch interface acting on the flexible moisture-impermeable sheet from the other side.
