Abstract

595342 Disclosed is a road marker (1) including a metal housing (2). The housing (2) encloses passive electrical components and has at least one surface which is transparent. The components include a circuit board and a thermal sensor coupled to an input terminal on the circuit board. The thermal sensor has at least 0.5°C of hysteresis to prevent rapid on/off cycling of at least one lightemitting diode (4). A photovoltaic (PV) module (3) is coupled to an input terminal on the circuit board and at least one energy storage element is coupled to an input terminal on the circuit board. The at least one light-emitting diode (4) is coupled to an output terminal of the circuit board and is illuminated when the thermal sensor detects a predetermined temperature.
