Abstract
594194 The invention relates to an induction unit for uniting air flows. The induction unit comprises at least one induction duct (21) in communication with a primary air duct (30) formed in the wall of the induction duct. At least one first opening (28) for a primary air flow (Fl) is connected to the primary air duct which opens into the induction duct. A secondary air intake (22) is arranged at the upstream end of the induction duct for the intake of a secondary air flow (F2) from a space surrounding the induction unit. The inwards primary air flow generates an induction, or Venturi, effect which causes air to be drawn in through the secondary intake and subsequently merge with the air from the primary air flow. The secondary air intake is directed substantially parallel to a center line (A) of the induction duct, which creates a more uniform, less turbulent, air flow. The combined (F3) primary and secondary air flow is returned via an outlet (24) located at the downstream end of the induction unit.
