Abstract

Fremgangsmåte og abonnentapparat (100) for automatisk valg av riktig datatjeneste, ut fra de data som sendes, idet tjenestene kan enten være pakkedatatjeneste eller modememuleringsdata- tjeneste. Valget som utføres i apparatet (100) skjer på basis av de data som mottas fra en datamaskin (102) eller et annet digitalt system. Hvis en AT-oppringnings- kommando mottas går apparatet (100) inn i en tilstand (204) for modememulering, men hvis en pakkestartsekvens mottas går apparatet inn i en tilstand (202) for pakkeoverføring. Særlig kan pakkedatastartsekvensen omfatte et dødtidsintervall for et binær- sifferord for oppsetting av et forhånds- flagg, og deretter følger et flaggsiffer- ord, og til sist kommer mottakingen av eventuelle ytterligere data innenfor et tidsintervall for et postflagg.
